Seeing now that you can do it so easily, how easy would it be to put it in the game? Could you just use what you have for the binoculars or is it a little harder?
-
Slightly more damage than fists? A smack with the butt of a rifle will wreck a skull man.
-
Not really a different type, but clumps of them wandering would be widely accepted I'm sure. I want to be heading through a town and see a group of 20+ slowly making their way around making me nope my way around them.
-
A Masterkey shotgun sounds wonderful.
-
Of course a sane person wouldn't stop, but if you had a checkpoint set up along a fairly well traveled road there'd always be a car going by within around a ten minute span. Have your group of 2-5 guys all set and waiting (maybe with two people up the road a ways as an early warning measure) and pop the driver as he's heading along before he knows there's anyone there. Mean to do, but it's an option.
-
An alternative to denying someone the gear if they removed hiding bodies would be grabbing the stuff you don't want others to have and moving a short distance away before dumping it beside a tree or in a bush.

I never understood it either, it really shouldn't matter if it's accessable. Girly-men can say a mosin is heavy, but it's really not bad. Bundle a couple up and throw it on a pack to give to buddies later. I do like the forced choices the game throws at you though, where you have to stop and think for a bit. Do i keep this mosin I have 50+ rounds for or do I pick up this AKM I just found and hope I find a magazine?
-
Remember though, the easiest and most common way to get something uncommon in DayZ is by taking it from people who were nice enough to put all that hard work in just for you.

I was running North along the coast with a friend and we kept our spacing a bit as it turned night. I'm on teamspeak with the guy and he says "SHIT. someone is talking to me." He has no firearm but the other guy does. I'm prone at this point looking and I see the guy with a shotgun pointing it at my buddy. We could've chatted, but I shot the guy three times with my SKS and he dropped. Buddy says to me "He was asking if I was friendly dude." and I'm feeling bad for shooting the guy but he was pointing the shotgun right at buddy. Turns out he had no ammunition anyways. Always a different experience.

Let me link you a video of people who pretended to be dead in combat in places like Syria for example, where they get smacked around and decapitated with a dull knife for laughs. Playing dead is a scarier idea than being killed.
-
But that's wrong. It's actually really really easy. Mounting it on a rifle changes nothing for looking through it. Obviously you're blurry because the monitor is so close..
-
Please tell me why I shouldn't be able to use a stripper clip in a mosin like a normal person?
-
How does removing helmets with gas masks make it more realistic? It's military equipment, it's made to be compatible with eachother.
-
I'd like watches returned. I liked using a watch as a compass too.

Not a hero or bandit, but sometimes merely an observer?

You know the mountain beside Prigorodki? In the mod I'd sit on it with a DMR and when someone who looked like a new spawn ran around, I'd shoot all the nearby zombies for him from way up on the mountain. The differences in reactions were great. Half the people alt+F4d instantly, a few would run for cover while still in my view, some would stand there and look around, some acted like it never even happened, and one single person saluted. -
Without it being a nasty comment, some modding teams work a bit faster than the base game's team. An example being Breaking Point for Arma 2 (and 3, they got that working very quickly). Yes, they ported over some previously existing models and sounds, but the rate they released content was very quickly in comparison to the other teams.

Honestly, I think that is a terrible idea. It was great in the mod to be walking through the woods and stumble upon a tent that had a lot of nice stuff stored in it. This made you look for places someone would not look in or walk near to place a tent. I actually had something unique happen when playing the mod where I 'traded' with someone using their tent without ever knowing who they were. When I took something, I left something else in the tent. I'd come back the next day or so and my stuff would be gone with something else left in there. This went on for maybe two weeks? Was pretty neat.

I'll back you up on that one, I was in the tower with a friend when some shooting was happening we watched the ways in. I was underneath the stairs crouched and he was prone uptop. Nothing happened for a bit and we both died almost at the same time from very close.
-
An example being this video, it's an old video of the mod I found in all of 30 seconds of searching but it works the same way. Apart from the one side of the tower, this guy has a 100% safe viewpoint where he can see guys who have NO way of knowing they're being watched no matter how good their eyes are. You really can't say this is fine. It'd be nice for sure if there was some system like Arma3 where there are multiple heights to your crouches and standing positions. Because we don't, you either lay prone or expose a lot of yourself while crouching. That is a problem, but is much better than a magical elevated vision.

Sounds nice, just give it an animation of fidgeting with the hands for everything swapped out. The only issue would be with mounting and dismounting optics on your rifle. You shouldn't be able to rip it off or put it on in seconds, but because there no option to switch between your irons and scope with it still mounted, it should be exempted from the animation.
-
You're missing that there is no point where you're moving (apart from sprint) where the rifle isn't shouldered. When you're not looking down your sights, your rifle is still braced on your shoulder, you're just not tilting your head.

@UltimateGentleman I do but that in that time it takes to press ALT twice But I have it bound to my thumb button on my mouse. It takes no time at all. If anything third person makes the game even more dangerous because yes you can stand behind a wall and survey an area safely, but the second you step out from that wall 30 people on the other side could just be doing the same thing and see you, or anyone with a better gun and skill. I can't wait to see people disagreeing with that. But that's the problem, you shouldn't know what's on the other side of a ten foot wall until you actually see around it from your character. You try to make it sound very MLGPRO but all regular is about is watching from absolute safety. In hardcore you will never be seen from someone you cannot see, unless the guy is just barely leaning around the corner. Seeing everything around a corner before actually looking around the corner robs yourself of ALL tension you might get from the game. It's even worse when someone is prone ontop of a building watching anyone running around, but because there's third person, the guy on the ground literally has no way to see he's being watched, no matter how good he is. First person if he's paying attention he might notice someone above looking at him.

There you go on about that "cardboard box" view. Do you use your look button while moving, or do you turn your whole body to look everywhere? I can't say I feel restricted at all when playing.
-
Looks like I fixed it. All I did was bind one at a time, then try the other. This try putting prone as the one I'm using worked. Just keep trying it I guess.
-
I have, including have one bound and the other not.
