A sealed bag of rice will spill if you turn it on it's side silly. I'd enjoy this idea. It'd make it even more like Tetris.

But mine is a '43. They were pumping them out like there was no tomorrow to supply the soldiers. Just because they were mass produced doesn't make them awful. I know I've posted this picture a few times before but mine has not been babied before it was bought by me. There are chips and chunks taken out of the stock suggesting rough use, it really hadn't been cleaned in ages and I'm fairly sure the previous owner fired .308 out of it because he must've been retarded. It's not some pristine 'above average' example of the rifle, but it shoots great.

I find the arguing in this thread pretty funny. My own experience with my mosin has not been negative at all. I've never received any training apart from my father giving me a couple tips and with my irons on an old beat up '43 Izhevsk I can hit a 6" steel plate at ~300m fairly consistently. If I took the time and money to mount optics on it I'd have faith in it that it'd still shoot accurate beyond 300m. You guys must've had mosins that are on the brink of falling apart if mine is so banged up and still solid.

Still waiting on being able to use a scope without it mounted. I don't like proprietary item slots. Why can't I keep a pen in my boot instead of only the knife? What if I want to stick other important items in an ammo can instead of only ammunition? It's a sealed container. Maybe I want to keep other things nice and dry?

The RCMP doesn't seem to like people carrying a mosin around downtown. Have to lay low now.

Tents. What are they good for? Absolutely Nuttin
rybec replied to RAM-bo4250's topic in General Discussion
I'm on the fence about whether you can access it after dying. In the mod if a buddy hopped on I could say "Hey, there's a DMR with a few magazines the the tent in the usual spot for you." Having insurance after you die because you can go run back to your (vulnerable, nobody's ever guarding it 100% of the time) tent to gear back up will make people reckless because they can afford it, but I would say 3/4 of my deaths in this game don't come from players, zombies, or survival mechanics. They come from a random server restart while I'm in a building causing me to fall through to my death, or evil stairs and ladders. Sometimes random character resets. These are they'll polish those bugs out, don't worry issues, but I'd enjoy it simply to help myself for after that happens. Now, alternatively you could have disappearing tents after you die. You store everything you've worked for whether it's actual playing or hopping servers to die to some BS issue like I said before or to get shot. You're back at square one. Unless you have a partner who also has a tent then no big deal. Groups thrive, individual players suffer. Now how do we deal with vehicles for that? We've been told vehicles are going to be a REAL pain in the ass to get going. Are we going to say the person who put that final nut on the tire has now tethered their life to that vehicle and if they die the vehicle's player vitals sensor connected to explosives causes a large explosion that can be heard for kilometers (if they ever fix the sound)? -
I would hope they go where you shoot them. I'd be disappointed if I couldn't be accurate like this. Without the Bradley of course.

And then they come back to their home server where someone has possibly found their stash while they are on their home server to protect it 10% of the time they're playing. -

If someone puts the effort in to get a vehicle going, why shouldn't they be allowed to stockpile their goods? Same with tents. Right now DayZ plays like this in my group. "Hey, let's play DayZ." "Sure. Where do you want to go?" "I don't know. No reason to go anywhere." Let people store their findings. I like to feel productive when I'm playing. Running around with absolutely nothing to put my effort to is fun up to a point. -
I've been killed through some buildings before. Sometimes I'm curious which ones you can do that with and which you can't.

A coworker of mine has his compound bow set to 90lbs (I really don't know how he does it consistently. It's a real bastard to draw.) and can get maybe two inch groupings at 50-60. He's pretty damned good. Most of his hunting is 20-30 yards though. As for the arrow, unless it hits bone it consistently exits the animal after hitting. They have a LOT of power behind them.

Hilux is at the top of my list. -
What are Wikipedia references?

If by "slow it down" you mean it'll take 5 minutes for Mr.X to run to Berezino to punch the first guy he sees to death instead of 2, I agree.

Can't sling it onto your back. You have only irons. Have to deploy it to be able to fire. Done.

This is an oat field a farmer wanted some bears gone from since they are real pests to the farmers here. The height of the crops is tall enough that making a noise will allow you to see only the bears heads as they peek out to figure out what that was. It'd be nice to see something like this.

Couple of suggestions for better in game life simulation.

This guy. Hah. I liked how smooth the menu was and the visuals were nice. -
Before Arma3 was released I would've suggested getting Combined Operations for Arma2 and trying the mod, if you didn't like it you had Arma2 which was the best part. Now that Arma3 has taken much of the population away I don't know what to suggest to you. The standalone is eventually going to become a decent game with a healthy supply of content, so I'd lean towards that.

There was a sourcemod named Zombie Panic which was a decent game with an interesting feature where you could press the Panic (hence the title) button where your character would drop his weapon from his hands and sprint his hardest while unable to do anything for a while. This was on a cooldown, but gave an interesting choice for the player if they were in a terrible situation.

Give all current full auto only weapons the select fire ability

It'd also be nice to see if you've selected semi for the m4 as well without having to check by holding down the button. -
Filling magazines with rounds should take time (animations)
rybec replied to 0.64 Freerider's topic in Suggestions
I have no bent bolt mosin nor a PU scope, but I believe it's made to allow a stripper clip to fit. The stripper clip is 2 and a half inches long but I do not know how high the clearance on a PU would allow -
Samsung SSD 830 128GB You have lots of space on there. It could even clear after a couple are taken to make new ones. Being unconscious for more than a minute is serious though, I doubt it would be worth the hassle to do some photo album of "Remember when you ran through the woods? Good times."

I like the idea though for the sole purpose of having an interest in keeping your character alive. Something I just thought about that would be adding another reason to not instantly kill another person, as they might know one of these processes on their character and you could approach them and get them to teach you. That or just kill them and hope they have the manual on them. There's just not much else you can do than some goofy system like that to make the player care about the character instead of the gear. That's what we want right?

I like the idea of loading magazines taking time, but stripper clips should be a bit more common if we're going to have to load them per round into an SKS or Mosin. Or if you have the LRS mounted you shouldn't be able to load a stripper clip because the scope is literally blocking it. -
Before we get new sounds we need the old ones to work. That old hearing cans and zombies randomly needs fixing, and you should be able to hear someone shoot always. Again last night I had a couple times at the airfield with a buddy where he said he shot at someone or someone shot at him and I'm a five second run from the guy and I didn't hear it.
