Red Orchestra does this very well. It'd be nice to see.
-
Alternatively, you could don a UN beret or helmet and do absolutely nothing at all and say you're roleplaying.
-
That's your AntiAliasing. Try the different kinds and watch it change.
-
It'd be like saying "Oh, 7.62x54r shouldn't spawn in civilian areas because it's used in the PKM, SVT40, SVD, and vehicle mounted guns."
-
HILUX I want some pickups.

Lead Producer of DayZ says, "1PP is better"
rybec replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
A lot of people say this, do you guys get motion sick from FPS that easily? I find it no different when you turn head bobbing off. -
Tents remaining on the server in the mod was a great thing. It left a nice place for you to dump some extra things that you wanted to keep, but were okay with losing in the event it got found. I'm highly opposed to having them disappear after you log out for the fact that it shouldn't be a guaranteed safe storage. If you don't want to have it looted, get creative with a good spot to place it. It also created some great chances of running through the woods and feeling like you struck a goldmine when you spotted a tent, ran over, and found a clan's stockpile. I have a place where I left my tents in the mod and had them looted 0 times.

You tell me mortars would be too simple to use if implimented? Keep in mind this is assuming the guy you're planning on attacking is going to sit there while you prepare. You posted a Stalker picture, I would absolutely love the game to be Stalker. Now, everyone is so opposed to RPGs but RPGs have many different warheads to them. Frags and thermobarics would be absolutely terrifying, but I'm sure a V or VL wouldn't give the effect you think it would as anti-personnel.
-
Thing is, a mortar doesn't have a fancy artillery interface like it does in Arma. ACE for the most part makes extreme improvements. What I get from you saying that is "I don't know how to use a mortar, so I'll be at a disadvantage if I ever managed to get everything together to use one." Truthfully, I am absolutely clueless on the formulas for mortars. I'd likely be at the same point as you, however I'd take the time to look it up and eventually I'd understand how the aiming functions. Alternatively, give me an RPG7 with a PGO7 scope and I can read that without an issue and can hit targets a few hundred meters out. All it takes is a few minutes of research and a willingness to learn.

You guys have never experienced where a buddy's model stays in place for everyone, but he's moving around and such and acting like a ghost? Not very frequent, but I'll have times where we go "Oh, we lost ___" and he goes "No, I'm right here" and can interact with things normally.

They're large welded and bolted containers. You're unable to dismantle it without cutting it up.

Took only four replies. Not everyone calls themselves "Penis" ingame, I doubt most people would draw dicks on their rifles. Is this really the only negative point for customization in a game like this? We can't let people be creative because someone loves dicks so much they'd draw them on everything?

I hope there's no auto-hover either. Can't wait to see people take forever to get into a hover or land.

I was actually curious about that and made a poll a while ago. You'd be surprised. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/209941-have-you-ever-used-a-firearm-or-own-any/ Out of 71 people so far, only 12 have never handled a firearm before. Keeping proper terminology is important though. Letting that kind of thing slide allows people to mislabel other parts of firearms like "shoulder things that go up" and thinking parts have different purposes than what they actually serve.

Hah, I would never have known a merge had taken place.

Incapacitation/ Kinectic knockdown discussion
rybec replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
I'm surprised too. More depth to ballistics and injuries caused by the firearms is something I'm 100% for, and I didn't expect people to be interested in it. -
You linked this very thread, knucklehead.

The interesting part happens at 3:37

shemagh: why and an easy way to implement it
rybec replied to stielhandgranate's topic in Suggestions
I'll post it again. I'm totally for it. -
Now we're back on topic again I suppose. Of the few things I have the jackets are waterproof and warm, a hoodie on underneath and it's a very comfortable setup.
-
How dare you? Shooting is a very fun hobby.

But I'm Canadian.

Remove random laughing as a side effect for cannibalism please.

Shemaghs are fun. -
I'm still wondering how this kind of scenario will be dealt with. There's X number of Y weapon out there. 50% of them have been picked up and are held by people taking a break, 30% of them are held by people who play a couple hours a week. You'll never see one. Maybe I'm exaggerating idle people, but could we see that happen?

Is it not normal to have military clothing and own rifles? Am I living wrong?
