If you're having problems with some of the commands, Alt+Tab is your best friend. Google what you need and apply. You'll memorize it sooner if you deal with the problem yourself, rather than reading about it and not acting upon it.

Yeah, I'm also never playing this terrible game again! Yesterday I was heading to Mogilevka, when suddenly I had to pee. So I stand up, go to the toilet, and as I was coming back to my laptop, I hit my pinky toe on the table! It hurt like hell! Stupid game, never playing again.

Yeah, ok, but I don't understand the fact that people care so much about other people's preferences (not the guy I was replying to, it's happening all the time). I like realism of Arma, I really do. But for me it lacked a story or anything that I could get my attention hooked on. For example, I love Brothers In Arms games. I play SP games for story mostly. And CoD drove me away from FPS, practically on its own. I only liked playing with my friends - CoD 2, LAN party, we kill each other. Great fun!

A "clan" is an evil brotherhood of people longing for other people's misery, pain and suffering! They are something like Jehovah witness, only inside a game. They will come and get you when you least expect it, and they will make your life miserable for the amount of time you are around them! :) Fun-fun! Edit: Don't buy their "friends" scheme! That's exactly what I think about when someone says the game is boring and you have nothing to do than kill others. I don't get it, how can have so little imagination. Anyway, the dark is great. Only I can't see during the night :D There were some servers where I could see ok, like it was really early in the evening so my color was gray instead of pitch black, but I don't know if that's because of the time of the day, or if those servers had some corrections to the night.

There's a pattern for me obviously. As soon as I have a great experience in-game, it somehow gets fucked up :D I was heading from Kamenka to Zelenogorsk, using the route someone recommended in my "Spawned in Kamenka, where to go" thread (hitting the dear stand to the north of Kamenka, going north-east to the barn, then to those 3 deer stands that make a triangle, just south, or south-west from Bor. Before I reached the "Deer stand triangle" I saw a guy with an axe, attacked by zombie. I approached him as he killed the zombie and we looted the 3 deer stands together. Aggroing quite a few zombies doing that. After we looted the last deer stand we decided to go to Zeleno. There was nothing more in the deer stands than ammo and smoke grenades. As soon as we started to crawl towards the road between us and the forest that leads to Zeleno (that's what I though, at least), some guy opened fire on us, trying to hit me (screw you, my grandma can aim better :D ) Not a scratch. We crossed the road and started going up the hill. At that point the guy I was traveling with vanished. Probably got disconnected. I waited for a bit and then decided it's time to go. Just as I reached the forest, I was teleported in the middle of the forest (don't know if the same one I as approaching), right next to a mint-condition huey! I didn't know where I was, but hey - good for me. A heli in perfect condition, full of fuel, I could fly, try to see where I am, and get where I want to go (I don't really want any vehicles for now). So, I get in, I start the engine and just before I started taking off, I appeared next to the heli again. Tried it one more time - this time I took off. The damn thing just rolled over and killed me as soon as I was a few inches from the ground. So, it's a great day for the beach again. Man, I'm on the beach every day, this is the greatest vacation EVER! :D

Yeah, must have been. I was going my own way when a forest surrounded me. It would be cool if that chopper could fly, but it just rolled over like it just screwed me and wanted to go to sleep. Bastard. And by the "great experience" I was thinking about my first real coop playing in this game. Pussies fly, real man surf... after they're killed and respawn on the beach :|

What pleasure could you possibly get knowing people are playing Arma? I had a few opportunities to try Arma 2 before, and it didn't attract me. I bought it just for DayZ and when the servers were down I tried playing the campaign. Got just to the part of the first mission when those jets bomb the shit out of some village. I didn't really like my first few minutes and that's it. You get dropped of on some hill. Run for a few hundred meters (I didn't notice that my squad was way behind me) I killed all the soldiers around some hostage, there was no one left. And then the radio comes in and I hear my character talking and saying he can't save the hostage. Waited for my squad, killed one or two more bad guys. Then someone decided that we can't kill all of them and called in an airstrike, so we ran back, again a few hundred meters. Yeah, it's a great military simulation, but it wasn't any fun for me from the beginning.

They probably just wanted him to suffer :lol:

It would be cool if you could combine bandages and wood to get a cast (is that a word for it?), which would only enable you to walk, not run.

As long as they keep updating the mod, and making it more playable, I won't have any problem giving them money for standalone. I know that it would be unrealistic to expect people to work on both free mod and a profitable standalone, but this mod has to get rid of some major bugs and glitches and I'll be fine with that personally. I don't expect it to be flawless (the mod). And yeah, lower price for a pre-order and a lower starting price, like Minecraft would be totally acceptable. The only thing that I would regret would be buying a standalone that has nothing more/has very little to offer us than this mod.

Twice in a row now. The last time I looted Kamenka, went north to Zelenogorsk nad looted Pavlovo, but I hadn't found much of use. A few sodas, no food, one 1911 with just a few mags all together (didn't spot any deer stands, and I was getting hungry, so I didn't have much time to look for them)... Coming to Zelenogorsk I have looted the barn on the east and a few houses between the barn and a supermarket. Aggroed a decent number of zombies, they seem to notice me much more with the 1.7.2.4. release. It's more fun this way, but sometimes it's just impossible with them spawning all over the place around you - at least it has been that way for me. So I finally have the supermarket in sight. I prone and start going towards it. One of the crouching zombies spotted me while I was prone and staying still. So I just ran towards the supermarket. Killed 5-6 of them trying to get in with a Winchester I found in the barn. Then more of them cam through the back door. Killed 2 and suddenly there are about 10 more at the main entrance. I ran out through the back door (I finally found a can of beans and consumed it in the supermarket), Only two followed me, so I ran until I though it was safe to shoot them... about 200m from the town. Shot them, Two more come running at me. The last one knocked me unconscious and killed me. So I respawn... again - Kamenka. Now I don't really know what's the best option here. I want to go north to Zelenogorsk again, cause it seems safer than going to Cherno or Elektro. But I don't know if I should just try to get there or try the same way - looting every town I go through. I don't feel like it, and my previous attempt to do so didn't produce much profit. What's the best thing to do here, guys?

I really don't understand people like you, who have to whine just because it can't always be their way. Grow up man - it IS just a game. And I don't understand the fact that this - alpha mod, not even a real standalone game - is one of the rare games that gives you the opportunity to do whatever the hell you want! But no! You need a goal set before you by someone else. Man, I was looking for a game like this in moths before I heard about DayZ. It gives you the opportunity to play as you like. There are guys teaming up - not in-game, I'll give you that. Why don't you camp on the coast waiting for a new player and then help him collect gear. Team up with him and expand your team? There was a bunch of guys who thought of slavery system! They had imagination and were not whining about the lack of 'end game' like you do. They made the game fun for them, because the game gives you the opportunity to turn it into whatever you want. Who says you need the best gear? Try surviving with basic stuff. Make it harder for yourself. But I guess it wouldn't be much fun for you, because you wouldn't have anything else to do. Yeah, the game has some major exploits, but this is an alpha. What don't you understand about that? It's a mod, considered to be a standalone in near future. If you pay full price for that standalone, and you get nothing more than there is now, then complain all you want. Or go ahead and just play Sims, then you'll have some objectives and it's all roses and rainbows.

And that's what I will do then! I just hate the fact I lost so much time looting Kamenka and Pavlovo for almost nothing, and then got killed right after I finally reached my goal. At least now I'll have more time looking for deer stands.
