hoffa (DayZ)

I found it on some dead guy in Elektro firehouse. The one next to the Electro plant. I don't like automatic weapons, I'd rather have a Lee Enfield or Winchester, but this weapon seems very powerful. I checked it out on DayZ Wiki, but I still want to hear some first hand experiences. Should I keep it, or would I be better of with a rifle, or a shotgun? This is a survival game, so I'll leave my preferences aside, take what you get, right? I also have 5 mags for it. Oh, and I just remembered! I read somewhere you can combine Revolver ammo into M1911 ammo. Can you? And if you can, how?

I don't know if there's a thread like this one, but I was wondering what people use more often? Realism-wise, 1st person would be a natural choice, but 3rd person gives a better overview. And in real life, our sight isn't boxed in a small screen. What you would actually see would be an angle somewhere between 45° left and right (7 and 9 numpad buttons). Also, it's easier to turn your head IRL. Because of that, I like to combine both views. 3rd person for exploring and 1st person for engaging zombies and observing other players, or engaging them too if needed.

Well, that's so sad. It's kill or be killed. It's not what I like, but I play like others play in such encounters. When I can avoid, I avoid. If that's not possible, I wait until the last moment. That almost got me killed just a few minutes ago. I was at the top of Zub castle, ready to go down and continue exploring, when I heard a shotgun. I froze, literally - this game gets the best of you, and that's why it's fun no matter what you're doing already. I tried to spot a guy from the top, but I couldn't, so I laid down next to the stairs so I would be behind the guy if he came up. And I waited. And my hart was beating like crazy because I didn't know what would happen. After a minute or so I heard him drink. Then I was listening to him walking around, slowly. I could have tried to communicate. But if he wasn't friendly, I would just jeopardize my location and "safety". He came up, I saw a shotgun, and I fired 26 bullets from my AKS. I was so nervous waiting for him, I just kept firing until I got 1 murder. I didn't even blink the whole time I was waiting. Maybe he was friendly, but I'm rather alive than naive. So screw helping, I'll help only unarmed players.

Think - it's the best advice. Think about what you did wrong and what you could've done better. If you have trouble orienting, read where the game puts you and look up the nearest city on dayzdb map. If you have trouble with commands, google it, or play the boot camp.

I just met you And this is crazy But your backpack is closed So open it maybe? Edit: You'll only see the actual backpack slots when you're picking up gear. If you open your backpack just to see what's inside, you'll only get numbers next to items that are in the backpack. Like when there's loot on the ground and you have to press the right arrow to take it.

I don't think that'll happen before standalone. What I'd like to see are maps for different country's with a landscape specific to that country. Austria with great mountains and lots of woods. Russia with it's rough climate and big parts of unforgiving tundra. USA with... well, pretty much everything :lol:. Maybe one more Europe country with more big cities and urban gameplay.

There's a funny thing about food. When you're hungry, you can't find any. When you have enough, you find a lot. Having less need for food would be good for inventory space also. You could take 2 or 3 cans or pieces of meat and not worry about that for a day or two.

I like my cars, bikes and weapons big and loud! But this AK looks great to. Thanks for the info and ammo help, I shall now release the Beans!

So 3 full revolver mags would create... 2 M1911 mags and leave one revolver mag with 4 bullets?

I don't think you can rename your default profile. At least I couldn't do it. Which is named after you PC "name".

And how do you do that?

If you're quick enough, you can kill your character, make a new profile and go *@$# yourself! I mean 'loot', chill :D

OK, thanks guys! And what about the revolver ammo combining into M1911 ammo? Possible or not? (I think I read it in youtube comments of some Lets play DayZ video, seemed legit since that series had some of the most polite conversations EVER on the internets. But if it is true, I don't know how to do it)

So I can use any AK ammo for it? Just not AKM ammo?

I once had 25 shots of a drink similar to Jagermeister. Still alive, but I don't remember much of it... maybe I have died and respawned in my room :o

Heard there's a contractor looking to build a mall in Zelenogorsk. Underground parking and a cinema included, that sounds nice. Also, there will be a 'popcorn & beans' vender. The only problem, foreign movies will have cyrillic titles.
