DMR and MG42 please! A lot of them were made in that part of Europe anyway! The first weapons I'd like to see now are decent semi-autos (like the SKS, but 7.62 instead), and especially the AK's. Both 7.62*39 and the AK-74 variant (5.45*39). And functioning silencers.

It goes both ways though. No removing weapons because people get killed by it too much (Military sniper rifles*COUGH* Advanced optics*COUGH*). No safezones, 24/7 daylight or other carebear features. I KOS, and I would love HC mode with no transferable loot, no gamma exploits and whatnot, so saying KOS'ers are ezmode simpletons is completely false. I KOS because I have a clan already, and interacting with strangers brings nothing but risks. Not KOS'ing isn't harder, as anyone could do it (Seriously, if I wanted to, I could go "friendlyyyy!" at every person I see, get shot, and go "Friendlyyyy!" again at the next guy. It's not hard, just annoying and often a waste of time. We also seem to disagree on player interaction being more fun, as I don't think it is. I play this game for the survival aspect. Getting gear, getting gear for my group, keeping us alive, building up a bit of stock, a vehicle, etc.. You carebears should stop preaching roleplaying and your type of gameplay as the ONLY "correct" kind of playing DayZ. Also, I never played COD, and neither is playing DayZ in the manner I do, even close to playing any other generic shooter I have played in the past. -
Just wanted to take a stab at clarifying KOS misconceptions

KOS is what I do so I do not waste my time by dying to a random who has very little to offer me as I have a clan. When I was still on my whitelisted private hive we had a stable community, and you'd build a reputation. And so far thats the only thing which ever made me think twice about killing someone. -
Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]

Please specify: 1) Weapons should be realistic, and carebears that want "a chance to turn around and retaliate" should be ignored. The game should indeed stick to the ARMA style of depth, with a lot of real-life knowledge being a plus. Just like knowing how to read the stars is atm. Eating and drinking should be made more realistic too, having to eat only once every 4 hours or so, and food should be a LOT more rare. Stamina and walking instead of running would be very good for hardcore servers, too. However, a bit of freedom regarding weapon attachments and car crafting should be allowed. 2) Realism or gameplay: I want military loot, not 8 types of 9mm pistols and 10 shotguns and hunting rifles like those walking dead fanboys. So yes, realism please (and IMHO this is actually also a plus towards gameplay). Make the game as deep as possible, as realistic as possible. Casuals should not be able to jump and and keep up with a veteran. It should take him weeks. Realism = Gameplay (for me) -
The game should have NV scopes etc.. As long as they're INCREDIBLY hard to find.

it makes no sense that bullets land somewhere you're not aiming, magically. I know a person without bipod won't be hitting targets pinpoint accurate at longer ranges, but that's what sway and breath-holding/bipods are for. It needs to be fixed. -

I agree on everything except the ratio of the weapons. I don't need 5 kinds of the same caliber pistol. I like AK's, Dragunovs, PKR's. It's almost certain all of those will be in the game, probably also PKP and western variants as Rocket mentioned they want an international arsenal so they could port them over to other maps not set in a former Soviet state. But none of these should be findable at the coast, or only have a very small chance of appearing. I liked the old Balota of the mod, now it's just way overboard. -

I do not believe a spawn location should have enough military loot to gear up a small clan. At least the barracks have to go. -

There should be no such features. This is an anti-game, remember? There should be no rewards/penalties except for logical ones, like zombies aggroing on gunshots (and not with pinpoint accuracy either). If a player wants to shoot on sight, it should be possible. Adding what you just said would make intrigues and group-infiltration impossible. The game should simply promote co-opping by logical and natural means, like for example making it really hard to get a car going on your own, build a base on your own, etc.. -

Hmn? I thought you were so good at killing and outsmarting bandits? Loot is too common atm, and Balota turned into a weapon factory. Change those things, make loot respawn and we'll be off much better.

Server Owners get nothing????

Private hives were great until they started messing with the settings that make DayZ harsh. It's an anti game, nighttime isn't supposed to be party-time. 1000-vehicle servers will make people buy the game for what it isn't supposed to be. People that like that stuff are looking for a game that DayZ isn't supposed to be. This is a game for hardcore players, it's an anti game, it should be anti-casual. Same goes for custom loadouts and day/night-cycle. And as for the server names? Nope, there should be basic info such as location, version (and config back in the mod days) so people have at least a bit of basic info besides slots and ping. however, hosts should be able to add banlists to their server (hackers), and anyone who abuses that should get their credit card banned from renting another server. -

Bullet damage is much better now tbh. in the mod an m16 had trouble killing a person at 100m already... -
I'm not sure if you can put the flashlight on the mosin. You can put it on the m4 if you don't have a silencer on it I think. And yes, it works with the bayonet. I've seen it spawn in houses mostly. You need to drag the bayonet onto the can (in your inventory). However, it will break after a while. you need a can opener if you want a permanent can-opening-item.
