Try dazzle people with all the math you want. A person doesn't need to eat every half an hour at all. Coming back online to low hunger/thirst isnt even a huge issue for me, just the rate that you have to eat while playing the game, its stupid. Its about survival and you would ration supplies not chow down on beans every 30 minutes. The interval between consuming food and water needs to be lengthened or the day night cycle needs to be compressed. As it stands right now the realism in those correlating areas is off completely.

Thirst and hunger really shouldn't decrease while offline, its like your being punished for not playing the game. If it has to stay that way they need to change the rate they decrease, Rocket is shooting for realism in server time yet my character gets hungry/thirsty again every 30 minutes, it makes no sense a character should be able to go for like 6-10 hours especially when aware of survival situation and rationing supplies. That would make the degrading hunger/thirst while offline a little more bearable imo as it stands right now its broken.

As a new player I am nothing like the op described. I got this game and mod because I wanted something slow and tactical, I also never fire on anyone. I've gotten close to a few survivors recently and never fire, I always lower my weapons even though it may spell death with me...and so far not one person has shot back. Yes there are idiots out there that just shoot anything but they quickly get bored and quit because they cant understand the depth.

Game purchase only, hosting servers should be a person or group choice. Monthly fees have no place here. Also in terms of Kickstarter theres already been a game on there with the same premise of this that got funded for over 200% I dont think its as realistic but its randomly generated and has fortification building in it. I doubt it would hinder the funding on this though. But yeah in short a one time payment with the same sort of server set up would be awesome. Just as a stand alone or whatever.

I keep getting this error, I've already had install errors and re-downloaded everything once. I've also re-downloaded the mod and it still happens. Any word on any other possible fixes?

Got it working :) not sure how but a fresh install seems to have worked :) Well I haven't actually played the game yet, I just got to the character select screen thing without incident. I'm waiting for friends before I play xD

Yeah I've ran ARMA 2. I had the bad serial problem but set steam to admin and that cleared it up, and I've rad OA through a desktop shortcut and through steam. Same results each time.

Yes I know there are loads of people having problems and its not that hard, but either way I still cant get it working. I bought the pack on steam I made sure both are at the current version I used the install tool listed above and made sure it is in the right directory. I added the launch options (to OA and yes I ran CO) Now when I start it up two errors occur the first is "addon 'dayz_code' requires addon 'CABuildingParts'" after that when the game is loaded and I try connect to a server I get the missing chernarus error. I've tried re-downloading the mod and I've also verified the game files and it came up with 1 file needed to be downloaded but I still get the errors. EDIT: I'm also getting an error about citizen1scope? or something like that when the main menu loads. Any help? cause this is getting frustrating now.
