It seems to me hacking mostly occurs at US servers with 3DP on, regular, CH on, etc. I have never encountered it personally, cause I don't play in those servers.

I don't KOS, and I have yet to die because of it. Mainly because people are so damn bad at this game. Just never let your guard down, analyze the situation and act accordingly and you'll be fine. Shooting everyone you see is the easy way out. You'll announce your presence to everyone nearby and you'll have the guys friends on your ass. And most of all, it turns the game into a sad death match with the main purpose of boasting your own ego.

I know there's a holstering animation in Arma 2. The easiest way to do this would probably be just to scroll/"holster gun", and you "hide" the gun and you're unarmed until you scroll and click "draw gun".

I want to bump this suggestion too as it is something I think would be very easy to implement and make it much more easy to appear friendly without losing all of your security. WIth the ability of holstering your gun you could maybe carry a rifle in your backpack for special situations, but normally just walk around with a gun holstered. That way you can approach people and speak to them and they would have the time to react if you turned hostile. In the same way you would have the time without having to go into your backpack to grab a gun but just draw it from the "scroll menu". Please? :)
