Ah fuck this: Usually your ISP provides you with a number in K(ilo), which in turns stands for 1000. They omit the actual phyiscal quantity which would be B(its). In order to break it down to a value you can work with you would divide that by 8 (1Byte = 8Bits). So a 16000K internet connection offers 2000K(ilo)B(ytes) of bandwith which is roughly(!) 2M(ega)B(ytes)/s(econd). I say roughly because MB != MiB.

I find it very important to hinder the creation of hacks as much as possible but I also like the idea of having choices such as crosshair or non-crosshair servers. Would a programmer need to write two different applications for the same effect if a server either ran crosshair or non-crosshair?

I did. There is quite a few changes from the original Taviana experience: -Zombies only go down by headshots -Player corpses turn into little graves after a short while Those are the big ones. Also it seems loot spawns much less frequent or in a way I havent quite figured out.

Performance-wise this beats dayzdb.com hands down. Unless there is loot added it won't be a viable option for me to make the switch though.

Honestly what I am really just looking for is a clear answer regarding the release date of the SA. The next best thing would be a clear statement from rocket or anyone else with this kind of authority saying he doesn't know when its going to be released. Though it would be awesome if the SA did in fact get released this December seeing that I am on holidays for the remainder of the year. :)

Its the time a packet takes to travel from your node to the remote node and back. This time is being measured in ms (milliseconds). A ping of 50 would equal 25ms of travel time from you to the server. Lower is better essentially. I play mostly after 2000 GMT+1 for a couple of hours and on weekends for as long as I can. Experience in dayz is roughly a month. Surprisingly I play games for shits and giggles...

Just wanted to hop in and assure everyone of Wynne's outstanding conduct and his perseverance when it comes to helping others even under rather harsh circumstances. After putting up a request for someone to give me a blood transfusion Wynne came forward offering his help. For free I might add! Unfortunately the game bugged out on him and he was ported to Electro stripped of all his gear. That meant getting back to his starting point which was far NW of airfield to recover his boday and than making his way back down to me far SW of airfield. Finally when he arrived at my location he gave me a transfusion from a blood bag of his own and topped that off with a nice pair of new and shiny NVGs. His reasoning: "[21:48:31] Wynne: well, you have waited a damn long time, so its only fair really". And its true it took several hours but that was not his fault at all and it would never have come to this had I not asked for his help. So all in all he is a damn good bloke and everyone who is thinking about doing business dont hesitate or flinch from doing so. You are in good hands with him - to say the least! Keep it up, bud! And cheers again for the time and effort and items you put into my rescue operation.
