Unfortunately as I looked more into it, I found that certain games will get you banned from batches of others. Though most of your games will remain playable, you'll still be marked with a VAC ban on your account. Not to mention you'll be force to create a new steam account and repurchase the game all over again. They will be unable to steal CD keys, so there's no way around it. I'm fine with the person hacking having to rebuy the game every week. I'm out gear, but he's out 300 bucks (eventually).

We'll just have to take comfort in knowing that Rocket and friends have direct access to the game's engine, and that they 'can' figure out new ways to prevent hacking. Anyways, sure some brat could create 20 steam accounts and spend $300 on DayZ SA then hack it up, but you know what? I'm cool with that. Joke's on that person really. Me losing my gear, but knowing this poor SOB has to rebuy the game all over again (because he can't scam people out of their CD keys) only makes it that much sweeter.

I personaly find it comforting that A.) no one will be able to steal my cd key as it'll be registered through Steam. B.) People will dumb enough to get VAC banned on their steam account and lose access to all VAC related servers in every Valve game among many others. I have at least $4000 invested in Steam, there's no way in hell I'd even Google DayZ hax.

Are the weapons updated to the current changes in DayZ? A lot of weapons are being unbanned while some like the L85 thermal are being taken out. -

I just hope both the developers and users know that we should expect an Alpha, not the fully functional game. This was stated many times over the last six months. I expect the game to be released in December regardless of it's playability and I expect the users to accept that some features may be broken. I also expect a lot out of everything. It's a curse! -
It is currently not possible to reboot a server via DaRT. You can, however, reboot your server through ArmA 2 RCon. Note, that I believe rebooting your server in this fashion is unpredictable. I've had problems with vehicles/tents not spawning when i reboot using RCon as opposed to shutting down the server, then restarting it again.

Their update system is pretty jacked up, I was hoping DayZhosting would get their crap together. It would appear that it's only gotten worse. Still no DayZ update / ArmA 2 update on my server. Slowest response times I've ever seen in support. I feel the need for compensation for wasting my time, and the time of the people I've recommended their services to. -

Don't ask me to vote on DayZ Mod, it's pretty broken. The concept of the game is amazing, just poorly executed. Perhaps the standalone, but that's not here yet is it? I'm sure there are games better fit for the award.

Typically long load times are merely because the server isn't optimized correctly.

All it took for me was switching "Video Memory" to "Default" in-game. -
The DayZ standalone will utilize Real Virtuality 4 which is what ArmA 3's engine utilizes. My guess is they'll have some early alpha version by late October / November.

Once you come to the realization that you shouldn't become too attached to your gear, it makes it a little easier when a hacker takes everything from you. I was just on last night when all of a sudden everything on me vanished and I was turned into a zombie. I then proceeded to chew a friend's face off until I was put down by a few other team mates... It was a sad day. I knew I should have stayed away from those bath salts... ><
