Do you have a 200 series Nvidia card by chance? That's a fairly common problem with them. I call it the black screen of death! If not, then I suggest you check your Windows Event Viewer and see if there are any flat out errors in the logs there.

Honestly? I'd completely delete local data via steam on both ArmA II and OA, go into your "My Documents" and remove anything ArmA related. Re-install everything fresh, open up DayZ Commander, install DayZ and ArmA II beta through it. Then try again. My only theory is that something messed up by attempting to use the free version of ArmA II first. Give it a shot.

Have you updated to the latest versions of DayZ and ArmA II beta server-wise? Also, are you manually restarting the server, or is it auto restarting via HFBserver's control panel every 6 hours? I only ask this because I've suffered many issues by just 'restarting' the server. You need to shut it down, then restart it again for anything to take correctly. Keep in mind that the HFBservers scheduled restart control panel works perfectly fine.

I feel like you're only shooting yourself in the foot, the more you complain about the lack there of updates (and release) of DayZ. You're building up so much anger to the point where when the game does come out, you'll take it out on Rocket by not purchasing the game out of spite. It's not his fault you have no patience. People who are like that are probably the same kind of person that doesn't wait for their food to cool down a bit, instead they burn their entire mouth and complain about it all damn day. Wait!

I recommend completely uninstalling/deleting Arma 2 / OA via steam, then re-installing it. Also, I recommend using http://www.dayzcommander.com instead of sixlauncher.

No disrespect, but shouldn't your location be 172.0.0.1? Also it's completely fine that you're upset, you have unrealistic expectations. It's clear to me that you're still quite new to the whole life thing so I'll let you in on a little secret. Go outside, be with family and friends. Your life doesn't revolve around DayZ, sure it's an excellent game, we're ALL looking forward to what it brings but it isn't worth getting upset over a delay. Sure, we all expected a mind blowing announcement from Rocket, but it didn't happen, life goes on, earth's still spinning. People make mistakes. yada yada yada. End of the story, there's a delay in the announcement, we don't know exactly when the game will be released, but I can almost guarantee it will be before February. If it's earlier then that, we'll be pleasantly surprised.

Nah, because it requires Arma2's exe to boot from to start the server. Making it unplayable myself.

It appears there was an update to the library they use which will be in the next version of DaRT. Hopefully that fixes some of the bugs related to this.

I'm sure this has already been asked before, but I was hoping for a feature that allows me to select a timezone (depending on where you live), and the ability to set when you've scheduled specific restarts for your server which would allow you to send global warnings 10, 5, and 1 minute prior to the restart. I'm not asking for you to implement the reboot sequence, just a simple message at a specified time. I'd set it to EST, and enable a 10, 5, and 1 minute warning before a scheduled restart that I have set in my HFBserver game control panel for 12am, 6am, 12pm, and 6pm.

I'm getting the vibe that this is VERY unlikely. It would appear Rocket has had a bit of a melt down in regards to development. But can you blame him?

It's unfortunate that Rocket was unable to release any further details regarding the SA as he stated he would. But then, we all knew this was a possibility. Things change, and Rocket doesn't control all the variables. One thing I'm certain of though, Rocket's doing as much as humanly possible to provide us with an improved game we all know and love in the shortest amount of time. Can't wait for it to get here!

But it only make sense that it would be released on that very day, the greatest apocalyptic survival game in the world, so you have got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?"
