That is a great story. I do wish it was easier to team up with people, would really like someone to give me a blood pack. I played for about 4 hours this afternoon and was all geared up and pretty happy about it. Then I randomly ran across a guy, I said friendly but he fired anyway. At least it was laggy enough so that I heard the shot and had a chance to retaliate before I died. So we both died about a foot away from each other. That was my first experience with DayZ.

Bags are pretty easy to find. They usually pop up in the general stores and they are better than the bag you start with any way. Good luck.

Is there any way to tell which server I am on once I am already in the game? I have saved a tent with some loot in it and would like to b able to get it next time I play.

Now all I have to do is find some people to team up with. Everyone I see shoots me. Well now they run away because of the AS50 I'm carrying, lol. I may or may not have looted someones camp. 5 tents full of loot. 5 AS 50's 40 + mags, a DMR, etc... Probably going to be pretty mad. This mod is great.

I'm on right now, but I've been on since 8 pm est. Been running great. I don't know which server I am in though, don't know how to tell.

They're a bit too fast for me and I think their agro range should be reduced.

I'm new here so I just thought I would say Hi and introduce myself. I'm a complete noob, not only to DayZ but PC gaming all together. I just recently built my first PC capable of playing any games better than solitaire. Only other game I've played extensively on PC is Skyrim and I used my xbox controller for that, lol. I've learned early on not to trust anyone in this game. The very first time I spawned there was a guy standing there with a suppressed assault rifle, He shot me in the back to steal my beans :(. Pretty much everyone I have encountered has shot me on sight. Only exceptions were the people who didn't have weapons. Anyway, I do have 1 question. How do I communicate with other players in the game. I've tried typing into the "group channel" and the "Direct communication" but received no response. I haven't attempted to hook up my headset with a mic yet to see if I could communicate with vocally. It would be nice to at least try to form a group.

Thanks Tommy. Hopefully I can find someone who won't shoot me on sight. Only gun i ever seem to find is the CZ 550 scoped rifle. Being new to the control scheme makes that a tough gun to use in a pinch.

Thanks Matt. Do I have to hold the Caps lock key or does it work as a toggle. The only mic I have right now is my old Xbox mic. I know it works for steam chat but I haven't tried it on DayZ yet.

I tried the helicopter missions as well. None of the controls seem to do what they say they will do in the tutorial itself. Trying to fly with a mouse and keyboard is crazy for as I'm use to controllers, I've done a lot of crashing. B)
