I just spent the better part of three hours purposely running around unarmed or with a hatchet only trying to be friendly with people. I was shot and killed six times. All while trying to talk to people on the mic. I wish I could walk around giving the salute. I've only heard one person speak in this game so far and and all he said was, "See ya niggah!" as he ran away. So I went back to camp, grabbed a gun and joined the murderous masses.

I've been having a ton of trouble since 1.7.2.4. I often get stuck at the loading screen and I have yet to get into a 1.7.2.4 game even though I have updated. I still have to play on 1.7.2.3 servers. Not to mention now I'm getting major texture glitch's, which I never had before.

Does anyone know how close I have to be to an area to trigger the zombie spawns? It's a good method of scouting an area for other players, only I'm never sure if they spawned because of me, or someone else.

I think it should become active again 15 minutes or so after spawning. That way, no spam. But if your life is pretty much hopeless, you can end it.

How many accessible servers are there really?

I usually try 2 or 3 servers that come back as "Failed, bad server" before I ever find one that works. Then that server is a laggy mess so I back out and start the process all over again. I find that I can almost never connect to a server with 15 or less people. -
I hope you can still hit respawn after you have been alive for a while. Sometimes, it's just hopeless and I'd rather just start over.

I was in the NE air field today and somehow agro'd a Z from 20 meters away while crawling. I ran south and went prone in the pine trees to lose the zombie. Unfortunately, I also broke my leg on a blade of grass. I then got sniped while trying to find morphine in the hangers. :(

Any of the Doctors up near the ne airfield with some morphine? I seem to have broken my legs on a stick. Also need a blood transfusion. Agro'd some Z's while crawling into the hanger looking for morphine. -

I'm up there right now and just had a fire fight with another survivor. I hit him with 3 revolver rounds and he hit me with two. I had to reload and he ran away. I bandaged up and went and hid for the night. I need some food or blood now.

I've noticed the same thing. Sometimes it seems I can run up and give the Z a high five and other times they can spot me from 300m out while I'm crouch walking. I prefer regular difficulty servers but that's just me. -

Okay, after verifying arma II I get a pop up message stating. "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired".

How do I do that? I'm very new to PC gaming. Thank you. "Verify both files of Arma 2, and Arma 2 OA." How do I go about doing that? I don't see a verify option anywhere on steam.

I've been playing for the last three days with no problems. This issue has started today. EDIT: Okay, DayZ commander is saying that my ARMA II is out of date. I'm downloading the newest version now, I think. This is all very new to me.
