Props to Rocket for not caving in under the torrent of whining here. Never had problems with bandits really. And if it happened, then wow big deal. Nobody lives forever. We are here to alphatest the shit out of this mod, not to cry for losing a pair of binoculars and a map. So our positions have to be reset every now and then for a cleanup. And maybe it just happens you spawn in the wrong place. Yeah, bad luck totally doesn't happen in real life. We can patch that shit out and make sure it doesn't happen again because elephants! I keep hearing about this teaming up on TS thing. Not sure what kind of alternate weapon it is but will have to try it out of curiosity. If anything, this mod might do with a few more zombies per house. PS: isn't it the norm in gaming that the "bad guys win"? I never commited murder btw. Avoiding contact is the way to go unless you are sure of their intentions and don't want to kill someone.

Is there a way I can check how long my character was alive in hours? Game displays alive time in days but that also counts offline time so this is not very relevant.

I think this would be bad for the feel and mood in DayZ. It's definetly a must have in other games. The dev team just needs to sort direct comms and that is enough in a zombie survival simulator methinks.

Just drop your weapons and play without one. Surviving zombies without a weapon is fun . You aren't going to take out the CZ sniper from the cities and towers with the enfield anyway :P.

The idea is probably that as a survivor constantly under the pressure of dying a horrible death by CZ bullet, zombie teeth, ladder fall or freezing to death coupled with walking a daily 15 kms puts a bit of a strain on your stomach. But yeah, eating needs in DayZ could be reduced. That said there is plenty of food and soda lying around in most towns.

I respect players that do this to help the community. It takes patience and commitment to do anything right. That said, I feel like too many games these days have all their aspects too well documented. There is a map, a guide, a how to for every ingame thing, mechanic or hurdle. It takes the magic out of finding something for yourself just because you decided to take a peek in one shack. Sure, people can choose just not to use these resources... but they are like huge SPOILER ALERT buttons on forums and we all know everyone just clicks those anyway.

Well this settles it! I will be sending you tears in mailbags every time I kill some dude not in a bandit outfit. But shit, just do it. This is the time to test things. Change it all. And mix things up. Thats why we are here in an Alpha isn't it? Oh and no polls please. I think you will get the big picture from the countless forum threads and hate mail. What is this flawed game mechanic? Anyone being able to shoot you was intended, no? CoD trolls are there to grief you in real life too. Wether it was a bully or something in school, a dickish teacher who never gave a shit about your studies just because you had one funny comment in class or your coworkers and even some peple you might know in real life. Douchebags are reality, not a flawed game mechanic. In the same way, some people are too weak to fight them back, some people choose not to fight them back and some people just declare all out war on their asses. You can see this everywhere even if it something as small as an office rivalry started by someone signing just himself on an email with collective ideas - more than once.
