I was in a shop in Polana in the middle of the night. Was behind the shelves in the front of the shop, but couldnt be attacked from anywhere unless someone snuck up right next to me. There were no zombies around (they were drawn away by my flare). I had 10.000+ blood, no temp problems, no hunger and no thirst. I was looting the ground, picking up a can of beans and a can of pasta when i suddenly dropped dead right after i was finished looting. When i went down i could see in the only direction anyone could have snuck up on me and there was nothing there. So basically either i had a heartattack (Rocket DID say he wanted realism) or something bugged out and i was killed for no discernable reason. I think we should demand that Rocket rewrite the entire game to include necrophiles (i mean, its perfect for it isnt it?), rapists, pedophiles and zoophiliacs... Oh or should we just demand that he rewrites the entire game to cater to the benevolent sexual minorities? Seriously. Demanding that someone rewrites an entire game that is about surviving a zombie apocalypse so that you can be a transgender, crossdresser or whatever is extremely moronic. The game is not about that in even the slightest form. Are you a male transgender? play as a female. Are you a female transgender? play as a male. Oh you want to be able to switch when you want? tough luck! come back when you can take a pill in real life to change your sex overnight. Ps. saying that you can change sex in real life by crossdressing is bull, since everyone wears the same clothes in the game (survivor outfit, guillie suit or camo uniform) wether they are male or female.

Ive always found the term "anti-game" to mean more or less, "we will give you the premices of the situation: you are alone, unarmed and has to survive. How you do this is up to you, we will not reward you or punish you for picking one choice over the other" In other words, its not like other games that try to teach you how to play the game. Its just a sandbox for you to play in with no consequenses for your choices as to how you play.

Whats the point of sniping someone at that range? you cant loot them since their bodie will have despawned by the time you get there. (unless you just sprint all the way, but then you'll have a zombie hoard on you)

You should change that so that the survivors are in the front looking threatening and the zombies are in the background looking like confused cattle...

What happened to this thread? I use these screens for my desktop, id love to see more of them...

Not once did he mention having vehicles, and even if they did, i doubt they had one every time they made a camp.

Its kinda funny, ive been seeing alot more "Quit whining and stop asking for bandits to be punished" threads than i have actual threads asking for that. It also seems that a large part of the vocal community of this game seems to think that this game is ALL about PvP and nothing else. Personally i just avoid other survivors like the plague... But that also means i no longer team up with anyone ever. It used to be that you could actually follow someone a bit and figure out if they were the kind to kill you or not, but nowadays everyone kills on sight. Mainly because of the influx of new players that seem to think that is a required part of the game.

How about no? that would be abused to hell and back. Random spawn is the way to go, BUT how about letting groups of people spawn together if they want to. having some sort of grouping system would be key to this tho.

1: i have no idea 2: thats the way it is. You get assigned a random survivor skin at the start of every playsession, and since its random, its random for everyone else too (so when they load you, you get a random skin for them as well) 3: cant help you with that, sorry :P

If it HAD to be made into a game proper, id have to go with the one-time-purchase option. But i honestly think this should stay a mod so you could say "fuck off" to anyone that disagrees with your vision without having to think about if its going to affect the sales or not.

And people like me use the same mechanic to avoid towns with people in them... whats your point? Even if zombies were constant, the bandits would only wait outside towns and check for survivors anyway.

Ive seen Q/E being used... ive also seen the "salute" emote being used, but i dont know how to do that one (embarrasingly enough, being an ex-OFP player). Are there any others? (except spamming friendly in sidechat, meaning nothing on hardcore servers, and using VOIP in direct chat)

Thanx for the suggestions guys. (those of you who actually suggested something on topic) As for the rest of you with all the "dont trust anyone" advice/statements/jokes... The name of the thread was "so what are the "unofficial" signs for being friendly" not "should i trust anyone or not". I dont give a flying f**k about wether or not you think anyone can be trusted, i only asked what the unofficial "im a friend" signs were.

How about adding the posibility for admins to ban or at least kick someone for refusing to use the language of the server in chat? Im asking this because a whole lot of russian is being spammed in chat on the english servers. Now, normally this would only be a slight (or huge) nuisance, but i recently heard from a friend of mine that someone had been spamming pretty racist/hateful stuff about me after i killed him, in russian, on the chat. Now, i didnt know this (and subsequently didnt suffer from it much, except i knew he was saying something about me in russian) but after i found out it felt pretty shitty that this guy was getting away with some pretty heavy stuff just because it wasnt in english. I mean, should i be able to insult people as much as i want, including racial slurs, as long as i keep it in swedish? Because thats how it seems to me right now.

But thats the point im trying to get across... Racism and Malicious speech in chat are the only two bannable offenses in this mod. But you can get away with it as long as you do it in another language than what the server admin speaks. Thats one of the reasons why im against russians (honestly, ive only seen norwegian on a norwegian server and swedish on a swedish server as the only other non-english languages in chat) coming on english speaking servers and spamming the chat with cyrillic. Anyone that doesnt read russian has no clue what theyre saying and they could (and have, apparantly) get away with bannable offenses.

[/quote'] If you have to go out of your way and use methods that are not in the game to start with (like what naizarak said) or use exploits to put up a tent then they are NOT working... dont say they are "really really finiky", when they are actually not working like they should. Thats like saying "my electric oven doesnt work. -Yes it does, you just have to put some charcoal in there, put some lighting fluid on and light it with a match and the oven will work, its just really really finiky"
