I do like to have additional forum functions and rules for the DayZ forum to make interaction between community members easier and the work for forum moderatos less irritating. Functions #1 Report function for closing threads and thread derailing. Right now we only can report advertisement, spam and abuse. Adding a "close thread" option prevents thread necromancy for e.g. suggestions that are confirmed by the DayZ team. "Thread derailing" is kinda obvious, preventing shitposting. Edit: Solved #2 ... (will be added later on) Rules #1 In the subforum "DayZ Suggestions" Only one suggestion per thread. I see people throwing a bunch of suggestions in one big letter which is not bad at all. However, massive amounts of suggestions in one thread make the discussion go out of hand or even off-topic. The one-suggestion/thread rule also makes the search of already existing suggestions easier, prevents repeating suggestions and the moderators can keep track of the current progress one suggestion is making. #2 In the subforum "DayZ Suggestions" Stickies for approved suggestions or suggestions WIP. #3 ... A group system available In-Game that enables you to create groups with other players or join existing groups. Each player can only join one group but can leave it at any time. You can password protect (and name) your created group. Two suggestions to create groups: 1# You can only join or create a group if you're next to the target player 2# You can choose from a list of existing groups or create a group with a player via the scroll menu. Purpose: Use of markers on the map only group members can see, VOIP in group channel, exchange of text messages in group channel. Overall better communication between group members without the need of third party software. Risks: -Exploit of public groups to hunt down player positions via UI-icons (only if group icons on user interface are enabled) -Continious remarking of markers on the map for new group members More suggestions appreciated.

Boats. Spawning at random locations near the coast or even next to islands. Maximum number about 3-5 on each server. Repairable with engine parts. No guns attached to them. Possible problems: Using scrap metal on a boat like this to fix the hull might not make sense due the material. Suggestion is to spawn patches in sheds near coasts. Quick and easy -quicktips for you 1# If you're being chased by a mob of zombies, try to enter a building. Zombies are forced to walk in buildings and you have enough time to take them out. 2# The Coyote Backpack (not the default one!) is the largest backpack in the game at the moment. It holds more than 20 slots. 3# Engine parts are quite rare and the most important part for a vehicle besides the wheels. Try to pack them in your back for later use. 4# Castles are interesting places to visit. Maybe you find equipment other survivors left behind. Or Offroaders. Or Little Birds. 5# You can colour your main weapon's / secondary weapon's flashlight-colour RED by first turning the military flashlight on and then switch to your first/secondary weapon that has a flashlight attached to it. 6# Smoke grenades attract zombies 7# If you don't see anything at night, turn your Brightness/Gamma all the way up in your video settings. Date/Time: 22.04.2012 What happened: Checked the gear of an enterable "Offroader" vehicle. Found the M249 LMG with M249 200rnd belts inside. I looted both LMG and ammunition. With both M249 LMG and M249 200rnd belt equipped in the main inventory, the ammo status of the M249 LMG was still at "0" on the user interface.
