  1. Ok, so all of you are just shooting on sight. OK, I guess its of no use then. But let me ask a question. Is it just me or does anyone else prefere to try and kill players with better gear and leaving the small fries alone to strugle with the game? O.o And not, I dont think it would requiere a lot of programming, it would be just one model that would always look the same doesnt matter what kind of weapon is inside of it, its just swapping two models. If they can make hatchets work in ranged only game, why not this? No, Im not trying to defend my idea, Im just trying to explain. And yes, it would probably be a signal that the player has something to hide from the others, that is a good point actually, so I guess youre right ... oh well
  2. Hey, Ive got a nother idea how to make the player interactions even more tense than they are now. How about adding some kind of scarf. wrapper or case that you can use to put your main weapon in, so noone can actually see what are you carrying. Sure, it will leave you with nothing but a gun or an axe/crow bar and it will take additional time to get your main weapon out of it before you use it, but it will also add this layer of uncertainty where you can shoot a player and get a a cheap double barel shotgun and on the other side, you wont make yourself a primary target by showing off your AK or any good NATO weapon to all the players that can spot you. What do you think about that guys?
  3. Exactly, a crazy guy with a saw and paper bag on his head, just like in RE4 will firt the profile :D ... but he needs to make some noises even before players "startle" him, like trying to start his saw by pulling that string on it repeatedly and when someone looks at him, he just starts the saw instantly and runs towards the player that looked at him and would stop only after he or the player is dead ...
  4. Yes, I had that whole tank concept in mind, but what I wanted to say is: lets make it scary, mystical, lets make it an urban legend, lets make it improbable but even more scary when it actually really happens. Thats the whole point of my idea.
  5. Hey, I know it was here already, at least in a general sense, but what about adding some very rare and scary, possibly lethal encounter with something in the woods that would make players scared of the wilderness? Why? Well because right now woods are the safest place to be in DayZ. My suggestion is to take something completely normal and every day like from the game and use it to freak the shit out of anyone that happens to encounter it. And what souhld that be? What about a cow that actually makes a "mewing" sounds? I noticed that animals are completely silent in DayZ, so what if there is some one rare cow that actually makes that cow noise (sorry for not being able to type it, since english is not my native language) and that would be the first signal that something is wrong and a warning to get the fuck out of there. Why? Well because that cow is watching you. Let its head follow any player around, just observe them and in case the player actually looks directly at that cow, the beast would jump on its back legs and starts running like a freaking zombie right towards the player on a speed that slightly higher than the highest sprint speed of any character. One blow from that cow and you are dead, while it would requiere concntrated fire of at least 5 people to actually kill it. This abomination would spawn with some very very low probability. Isnt that fucking scary? :D
  6. Ive been playing DayZ, watching gameplay videos and thinking about DayZ a lot lately and for couple of nights I had some pretty freaky DayZ inspired dreams. Does anyone else have that too? Its kind of cool to "live" the game in a dream, but it can also make you scream pretty loudly and freak out your gf/wife in the middle of the night :D
  7. Im really into stealth type of games and I know there is already lots of stealth involved, but what about making the zombies less lock on the first sight / sound and give players some tools or ways how to lure the zombies away from somewhere they need to enter other than making them see the player and then running like hell somewhere far away and shooting them. I know you can already do that with flares or any light source during night, but what about day time? What about luring them away without making other players aware of your presence? I would suggest some kind of noise machine or some feromone bait or something like that. The other way around this would be to implement more complex detection of players for the zombie AI. Right now, they just run at you when they spot you, but what about making them just slowly move towards the player until the player is close enough for their rotting eyes to see him clearly and only then let them run at him? And the same with their hearing. That would give the players some space to toy around with zombies and make the whole stealth part of the game much deeper ... So what about that?

I like the idea. Make them travel between cities through woods so nowhere is really safe :-)
