  1. Now does this count for people who are coding programs for a company , lets say, not games but insurance... from my experience it is that programmers are generally nice people, some have short tempers but 90% of the ones i know are nice and actually party quite a bit, which i count as being social :)

Looking at building my computer for gaming on Day Z.

AMD has never done me wrong in the past, id say when choosing between brands on processors and GPU's is more about preference (I like AMD processors, but Nvidia GPU's). Asus is a great brand! I love my Asus Sabertooth 990fx

Yeah i have been there before, and just upgraded one part at a time if you have too, spreading out the major upgrades over a little while helps so much. EDIT: when looking for a graphics card sometimes the company does matter btw. Some companies will have a version with more video ram, some will have a bigger PCB with more fans, some just look cool, and some a "factory overclocked" so it does make a bit of a difference, also the companies customer service is going to be better or worse

I know how a system will run a game by the fact i have been building computers for a while, do you really think a dual core will run shit now days at a resolution of 1024x768 and above? I am honestly questioning your ability to speak on the matter as you cant even give a good recommendation on what base parts to start with. You talk as though you are better then the rest of us, I'm betting that over confidence is just coming from the fact that you have the common sense to pick a motherboard the has an AM3+ socket for a CPU that has an AM3 socket requirement. I didnt list out the highest quality parts for him, i didnt give him a guide on how to put it together, i didnt tell him about liquid cooling and you know why? im judging off of what he started with that he doesnt want to spend 2 grand for a gaming computer right now. and no shit we are opinionated.... its a forum asking for our opinion on what he picked out. As far as uneducated goes, I would like to hear what you have accomplished, what you have a degree in, what college you went to, where have you worked in I.T. how many years have you been building computers. Maybe before you judge us and throw us all into a group you figure out that.. well who would have guessed, some do know two shits about computers

AMD quad core @ 3.4Gtz = $109.99 Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower = $58~ Seagate SV35.5 ST1000VX000 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s = 114~ ASUS M4N98TD (motherboard) = 142~ your videocard = 139.99 CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W = 136~ TOTAL is about = 699.98 that includes shipping on all but your card. and this will last years longer then what you picked out EDIT.. again lol : This shit will play battlefield 3 on mid to high and the black edition CPU is for overclocking if you want. What i have is Haff 922 mid tower 750 watt coolermaster PSU AMD 1090T overclocked to 4.2Gtz 670 Galaxy GTX Graphics card with 2GB video ram 8GB of G.skill DDR3 @ 1600 and 2 (1 TB) hard drives @7200 rpm

Look here... same thing applies to computers as it does for guns. Buy once cry once, usually you get what you pay for and will last accordingly, and i will say right now... i doubt what you have willl run at max settings. get a 750 watt psu, this will last you a while into the future and allow you to upgrade the graphics card and everything else without the fear of being underpowered. Please for the love of god go with at least* a quad core, It will help out a lot more in a vast amount of games as i think they will soon make the quad the minimum instead of recommended. FORGET the solid state, you can almost get a good 1 TB 7200 rpm harddrive for that, granted its like 20 bucks more but it is sooo much more space, hell go with a 500GB 7200 rpm and you will do better and will cost about the same. Video card will be fine, but like i said you dont want to be underpower, that will kill all of your stuff faster then it would normally die. or if you are unlucky it could just fry instantly. Ram isnt too bad, i have my own personal preference on that but still you did good. and to top it off i suggest a better Motherboard.... seriously you get what you pay for and if you want something to last spend a bit more for quality EDIT: your CPU and Motherboard are going to bottleneck your Graphics card

  14. not anymore, he changed his name to "snoop lion" ..... not even making that shit up
  15. I think it would be great if they had an option to "make friendly" then if both parties agree, you wont be able to shoot them, or if you shot at them then it wouldnt hurt them (on Novice, Regular would do 25%, Vet would do 50% damage, and expert wouldnt have this enabled) haha shot my friend in the head because there was a zombie coming at us and he lagged when i said stop (his player kept moving) and let a round off into his dome instead of the Z
