    I'm a fan of this. The walkman zombie and survivor zombie seem a little gimmicky but that's just me. Great suggestion otherwise.
  2. I'm not a fan of you automatically knowing who killed you. If a bandit outplayed you and one shotted you while you had no idea they were there, I think that the bandit should get away unpunished. I would support a bounty board of sorts. Once we are able to make bases, I would support a public board where everybody can write what they want. If someone keeps getting killed in a certain area, they could leave a warning on the board for other survivors. I'm against the tagging, as some servers have it disabled, and I would even argue that all servers should. This is definitely a step in the right direction. As others have said it's just a little to magical.

    Ugh, that's rough. I don't really think realism is a valid argument here though. While other game mechanics can be tweaked and made as real as possible, I don't think the health system will ever get too hardcore. Unless we do away with the current system all together. Right now we are losing liters of blood just from getting punched, our bones are breaking because we have bled so much, and eating sardines make us shrug off bullets. Without a major overhaul, the health system will never be that realistic. I still would say having a low but noticeable rate of regeneration would make more sense and be more balanced than running around with a bunch of steaks. My main gripe with the current system is just the instant health regen. I just think it doesn't make any sense for a game like this. I also think that you should be able to recover slowly over time and not be dependent on a certain item. In real life there isn't a magic item that heals wounds. Doctors stabilize you, and then you wait and recover, being healthy and well rested just make it go faster. Which I think this system emulates pretty well. If we are going for a game that is as realistic as possible, then we should be getting immobilized by one shot pretty much, we shouldn't be able to lug around helicopter parts, and we should never really recover, unless we wait for months of in game time. I for one do not think that is wise, we need to sacrifice the realism for a fun game. I think minor blood regeneration is at least one of possibly many better alternatives to the current health system. It's a small change, discrete enough that it wouldn't be game breaking and it would at least simulate reality better than the current system.

    I just want the wilderness to be there. I don't need more hostile animals, just animals in general. If you run out into the forest you will see like one rabbit and that's it. Although we would have to tweak the health system so you wouldn't have infinite cooked meat (which I am all for) The world would seem so much more alive.
  6. +1. Not a fan of the economy part but I would like to have a large amount of options so that I could have a completely unique gun. I just shudder to think of Day Z getting the TF2 hat treatment.

    I see that the leader boards have been disabled. But what was it they actually kept track of? Was it all the stats?

    In retrospect the base rate would have to be much lower. You shouldn't just be able to regenerate from getting messed up that quickly. I would go as far as to halve the base healing range to 25-50(4-8 hours) instead of 50-100(2-4 hours). I would say the max rate could be around 150-200, I'm all down for realism but I don't want to have to log in just to idle and heal for hours upon hours. EDIT: Ninja'd. But in response to the previous post: I saw in the other medical thread that the proposed rate was 2 blood per minute. I would argue that having a regen rate that low would just be trivial and would be there for realism's sake only. If it was that low, health healed from it would be completely irrelevant. You would get hurt and need to heal, eat some meat or get a transfusion and then the regeneration would be so trivial that it may as well not have been there. Having it at 25-50 I would say is a good rate for it would make a difference, but not enough that you can tank hoards of zombies.

    These are all valid realistic changes, but it might just be too realistic. You should probably keep tabs on this thread and keep track of the most popular revisions, maybe put them in bold or something. I definitely can see at least a bunch of your suggestions being implemented, you're just going to have to cherry pick the best ones.
  11. Yeah ok. It's a forum for discussion, get that attitude the fuck out of here. Being a douche aside, You're punishing solo players way too much. You're making it so if you're playing alone, you will have to stick to small towns and the wilderness to survive. And the issue with PvP isn't the lack of communication. It's people not trusting each other. That dude sniping? Isn't sniping you because he can't hear you, he's sniping you because he wants those beans in your pocket. Also that post is way too long. You're going to lose people.

    I am against an in game bounty board if killing someone automatically puts you on it. But if there was a globally editable board, that players could all write on and share information and locations, I would support the shit out of that. I think server admins should have the write to ban/edit all information on the board though. I don't like the idea of the boards being spammed with 8===D for 90 lines.

    I support this. However I think we should wait until this gets ported to Arma 3 or until they can be coded better. I don't particularly want more buggy zombies. I am willing to put up with them for now, but soloing would be so much more difficult with 8-9 zigzagging fuckers at a time. I'm up for the challenge, I just don't like my fate being dependent on weather or not they are going to bug out on me.

    Why would a lock stop me from getting in a tent. I mean I could just rip it open. The closest you will get to your stronghold idea is Rocket's plan to have player created bases. Search for the thread about rocket's interview with FPSGuru.

    I admit it would be more realistic, however I think we would see a huge spike in banditry. Why risk looting a town crawling with zombies when you could just cap that noob and eat him? Not worth the players grief.

    Thats not a fair way to judge the quality of a game. Just because something makes the game easier doesn't detract from realism or quality at all. Unless you can state why this would be a detriment to the game I don't see why anybody should shoot it down. Spawning together would make the game more social and at virtually no cost. They spawn just as naked as anybody else. And without this being implemented people will just spend 20 minutes sprinting to each other anyway. It's just a matter of taking out the tedious part.

    Very much this. I think Rocket is working on more in depth customization of your characters. I believe he was talking about hats, armbands and other easily visible things that would make it easier to distinguish players. I have no problem with having to memorize what people look like. It's almost like real life!
