Number of Weapons in Mod versus Standalone
kichilron replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Where did you get that number from? By going through the assets we have in the game there should be roughly 20-23 weapons in the mod. I have obviously not included M9 and M9SD, because they're the same, really - considering the attachment system. Only counted weapons like the M4 once as well, even though there are a few different variants in the mod. If you consider the attachmentsystem there aren't that many weapons in the mod, really. -
How can I play on the experimental patch Servers?
kichilron replied to Raoul9753's topic in General Discussion
Please make sure to read the stickies and to post in the correct section. If you would have, you would have seen this: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177199-experimental-branch-testing-how-to/ -

How to set up Xbox 360 Controller with Pinnacle Game Profiler
kichilron replied to d0pesen's topic in General Discussion
Remember to read the rules, people. 9) Unnecessary posts: Posting "don't care", "alpha", "TLDR", "search before you post", "cool story bro", 'fanboy' or any posts along those lines are unnecessary, inflammatory, and/or do not add to the discussion. This includes memes, GIFs and other images that are unnecessary/non-constructive; please keep them to an absolute minimum. If a duplicate thread exists, report it to the moderation team with a link. -
Am I the only person not looking forward to private hives or modding?
kichilron replied to Lady Kyrah's topic in General Discussion
The thing about DayZ, the mod and all of its mods is that it does and has to coexist. Even though the mod is the original one, or atleast as original as one can get, we always see ourselves being confronted with people saying: "Why don't you just do it like Epoch?" "Breaking Point is so much better than the mod!" "Why you do not do x, mod y has done that!" I fear that this is going to happen with the SA before we even get to play the version it was intended to be (upon release with all bugfixes and the content that is supposed to be in). The community was split by the mods and by the fact that they eventually figured out how the ARMA scripting works and how they can change about everything, even when running a server of Vanilla. Most servers simply don't have the vanilla experience anymore, you have to search hard to find a true vanilla one and a server that is actually representing DayZ Mod in a state it was supposed to be in. This starts from adding more barracks as the simplest of things an admin can do, which changes the economy already, ranging to completely reworking the loottables ripping our configs apart. How will the Standalone end up if all of the above are possible, as it will happen. If you give people the tools and knowledge to change aspects of the game to their liking, it will happen. This just leaves it open for destroying the essence of the game, as it happened with the mod. -
Poor cow. Defenseless cow! How cruel!

Considering ScubaMan is part of the devteam one would think he's quite accurate with what he's saying publicly. I am going to assume that helicrashes are going to be distributed over the map randomly, which is why it makes them fairly hard to find / farm. That's the reason why it only makes sense to have something like the M4 spawn there.

Make sure to read the DevBlogs in this section: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/forum/134-development-blog/

You have more than likely done somethign wrong upon install, which is why it's not working anymore. Check your ARMA2OA.RPT, which will be located where your configs are. That will tell what's the problem.

FREE BASIC BUILD BOX! || New Server|| Epoch Chernarus || Friendly & Active Admins
kichilron replied to yoloswagqt's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Posting in the correct section would be a start. Moved. Infact - merged. Please do not bump your topic more than once a day and do not promote your server with more than one topic. If people like your server and enjoy playing, it will come naturally. -
[TUTORIAL] NEED HELP WITH SCRIPTING? # DAYZ SCRIPT TUTORIALS
kichilron replied to Hoplit's topic in Server Owners and Admins
There is no real reason to have multiple topics regarding this and updating both of them, is there? It also is against the rules, make sure to read them. -
Make sure to check the pinned topics in the announcements: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160826-image-tags-how-to/

Waiting for sever to start authentication
kichilron replied to GoIIy's topic in Server Owners and Admins
That is called a log file and it should tell you somwhere to view your logs. Can't remember, to be honest. I don't have any DayZ.ST servers. something like "RPT log" or something like that. -
Waiting for sever to start authentication
kichilron replied to GoIIy's topic in Server Owners and Admins
That is because you most likely did a mistake installing the tools if it's working with your default .pbo's. Take a look at your ARMA2OASERVER.rpt to see what errors it gives you. -
There should be precise changelogs after each exp patch (stop treating exp players like they try to break into your stuff)
kichilron replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
Reposting in a different section doesn't make your point any more valid: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/196892-there-should-be-precise-changelogs-after-each-exp-patch-stop-treating-exp-players-like-they-try-to-break-into-your-stuff/ This has been discussed lengthy already, there is no need for another discussion. -
Yeah, you are. But your chances are bigger to find help on their forums. Epoch is a mod of the DayZ mod and we're not responsible for that. I am not saying you need to leave, it's merely that you're relatively unlikely to find help here, whereas the dedicated Epoch Forums definitely give you help.
-
We are in no way affiliated with Epoch, make sure to search for help on their forums.

Owner of server kicks me and then he kills me when i whas logged out
kichilron replied to SwekSwek's topic in New Player Discussion
If you encounter an abusive admin or server, please do not post it here on the forums. We cannot do anything with these reports. It is not productive and does not expedite action taken against these servers. Please report them to the GSPs directly following the pinned Guidelines. -
Your are simply lucky to have a powerful computer, that is actually Intel-based. It is proven, that ARMA 3 runs poorly on AMD setups. I have a more powerful PC than others, but mine is AMD-based, which makes ARMA III perform poorly, and poorer than technically slower computers that have Intel-components. It also makes a vast difference playing on MP in comparison to SP, so it's not only "shit servers".

When the game is "finished" (out of Alpha|Beta)
kichilron replied to Raoul9753's topic in General Discussion
The gridcoordinates ranged from 0 - 152 in both directions, meaning you have 15,2 km in each direction. If you now square this you end up with 231 km², not 10. Now, in DayZ that's even more than in ARMA 2, effectively. Because the north is populated now and there's more than just forest and debugplains. There's plenty of space to explore and there is absolutely no need to have a bigger map. Maybe eventually a few more islands, but those are planned to be introduced anyway. -
I have one more question. What mod are you playing? Are you playing Epoch or Vanilla? And have you played on different servers? Servers make all the difference, especially on DayZ and even more so on Epoch. Epoch is poorly optimised and has far too many objects. But 1.8.0.3 on a freshly restarted server should make a difference.
