The "Public Variable Restriction" is related to serverside BattlEye Filters and something the Server-Admin has to deal with, there's nothing you can do as a user trying to connect to the server.- 1 reply

That was a rather poor attempt, wasn't it? If it's that easy to bring up your profile on hacking sites I am not surprised that you were banned by BattlEye. Bastian has been kind enough to point you in the direction of figuring out how to reacquire the game. These kind of things have been the stuff I have been talking about here. I trust BE, because it's obvious what you have done, considering the connection to hacksites. There is no point in giving you a platform on here, I am afraid you will have to pay for the game again and play legitimately this time.

How can you not ban people in Alpha? There is no difference in ethics of cheating / exploiting. BattlEye has been doing this job on all BI games for a while now and not many reports of false banning have been heard. Infact - all of them have claimed to have done nothing, but in 95% of the cases you'll find that they're actually being guilty. And, oh wonder, it's always the "1-Post-Wonders" that say they have been banned for no reason by BE. I do believe that BE is doing a fairly good job and especially in the case of false-positives.

If you're running a private server, it would be best to use this build, as it's been updated to work with 1.8.1 already: https://github.com/Pwnoz0r/DayZ-Private-Server From there you can add more spawnpoints or edit the already existing vehicles.

What do you mean with new patch? 1.8.1 is already available on DayZCommander. We're not responsible for the Beta-Patches, as mentioned above. You will have to go through Steam anyway, as that's the new way of distributing the patches.

You are just completely missing the point. It's about the fact that you can buy yourself an infinite supply of buildingmaterials in the first place and then be able to build yourselves massive cinderblockwalls and steel ceilings with it. Whilst I understand that it might be appealing for some people and acknowledge the fact that it might even be fun I still do not see the connection to DayZ at any point. Other than using the basecode of DayZ and reducing the Zombie-Count they have absolutely nothing in common with what DayZ and its environment is supposed to emulate. This would be: harsh environment, scarcity, lootscavenging. All of which is defeated by Epoch's features.

Please do not post rant topics, feel free to contribute in a nice and calm fashion, though. We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle. It's not like it's never going to be fixed, but you should expect these kind of things to happen, especially on Experimental. Experimental shouldn't be used to play, especially not if you're going to post a rant-topic on the forums about it.

The Zombies are easier and less than on DayZ, you can buy yourself tanks, weapons, gunships and RPG's at vendors. I don't think any of that is in line with the thought of having a Zombie-Apocalypse-Survival-Game. Infact, I can't think of anything in Epoch, that has enhanced the feel or the world of DayZ. Not even the basebuilding, as it's all about building massive skybases made from concrete and steel - how'd that work out in an apocalypse?

Depends on what you want, Epoop Epoch has almost nothing in common with DayZ nor what DayZ wanted to be. Funny, that you should mention Standalone being in Alpha, because it is. Last time I checked anyway. It's not like it's the only game out there, there are literally millions of games on Steam you could play, and even if you only played 10 hours of Standalone you enjoyed, it's still a pretty good investment of 2,39€ / hour. That's more than you get from a movie that came out December 2013 (when SA came out). That movie would still be sold for about the same price as SA, but only gives you 2 hours maximum. Go play something else, may that be another ARMA 3 Mod or whatever you fancy and then come back whenever you're ready to play it again. This may sound harsh, but what can I say? You have been urged not to buy SA on the sales-page, your curiosity beat you to it and you're disappointed. Can't really blame anyone but yourself, as the Devs aren't really hiding the current state of the game. If DayZ was supposed to be easymode and casual gameplay, then yes. But I am afraid it isn't, which is why it's not taken it to any kind of next level.

Yeah, but everybody knows, that Dean secretly owns every single Game-Server-Provider out there. May that be Vilayer, GameServers.com, DayZ.ST, HFB - they're all owned by Dean and he's making bazillions of the monies with it.

Sadly there's nothing we can do about the inventory system in the mod, as it's limited to whatever the ARMA 2 engine dictates us. The easiest way to transfer stuff from your old backpack to a new one on the ground is to follow these steps: "Open Backpack" <- the one that's on the ground Open your backpack from the now open gearmenu Transfer your stuff from your backpcak into the new one. Close Gearmenu Pick up Backpack from Ground.

It won't just work like that, it needs the server architecture. Just playing a unit in the editor won't give you DayZ. Moved to Mod-Section.

No problem, the thing is that we already have a dedicated topic for this and we all know about the terminology. Those that actually use any of the above software aren't capable of anything than correctly filling out their creditcardnumber. -
You can always just add this to your Launchparameters: -windowTo edit your Launchparameters, rightclick the game in your Steam list and go to "Properties" - click on "Set Launch Parameters" and add the line above.
