Pople have answered. Please don't create another topic after not even an hour.

I did think about this post a while back, but didn't have the leisure to find it again. Unbelievable I got away with it, too. It's not like the innuendo wasn't intended.

Do not reopen a topic that has been closed by a Moderator. We are currently discussing the issue at hand. Read the rules. Moderators: We are people like the rest of you and we are all susceptible to emotions and 16 hour days. Moderators will treat everyone equally, which includes other moderators. Should it be felt that the moderators are overstepping their boundaries, please contact them or Boneboys directly via PM; at most parts of the day, moderators are very friendly people and should be willing to listen. However please refrain from posting it publicly if it involves only a single moderator as it usually ends up turning into a bashing session and would just end up with everyone in the shits.

Not only is a downloadlink off filesharing-sites like that highly dodgy, especially considering these are your first posts and you spammed two topics about it immediately - there also is a reason for the update. GameSpy will shut down. Noone knows when, but it was announced over a year back. They have been going, because the servers were being paid for by EA, still. If this wouldn't be the case, they would have shut down a long time ago. However - they can shut down without any notice any time now - which is why there was a backup provided by Bohemia. This backup arrived in May already. If your server is not updated and you now can't join, because DayZCommander is using the Steam-Server-Browser - this is entirely your fault. The ARMA 2 OA Patch is available since May and using the Steam-Server Browser. The DayZCommander update was not unnecessary, it was highly necessary and the only thing to do now, as it forces Server-Admins to update. Do it now, before you come back and say that people don't find your server, because you're still on an 9-10 months old patch

We have reworked the placement-system and it will be much ebtter to place items with 1.8.2 - which is due release fairly soon.

Anybody else having issues with the latest version of Dayzcommander?
kichilron replied to uberfrag's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
A description as to why you can't join any servers would be helpful? -
If you're the Admin you can disable the crosshairs in the settings of your server. Specifically these settings will have to be changed: enemyTag=0;friendlyTag=0;weaponCursor=0; Moved to "Server Owners & Admins" in the Mod-Section.

If you create a thread you can still edit everything in the OP. There is no need foranother thread, as that just clutters the Forum. If there is something about your thread you can't change, please report it and a Moderator will change it for you. No need for another one.

You see, it is. All you have to do is to follow these steps: Rightclick ARMA 2 Operation ArrowheadPropertiesBetaSelect "Beta -"Close (it will now update)Launch DayZ Mod after it was updated. You're now in the newest version of ARMA 2 (currently 125548, if I remember correctly). There are no further steps needed and the reason we're providing DayZ Mod over Steam. Everything's on Steam now and the all-in-one-package makes it incredibly easy to use. But only and only if DayZCommander is not in this equation. People seem to think they can still use that. You shouldn't. It's what messes things up. If you launch everything over Steam you will have no problems whatsoever.

The issue with that is that neither Overwatch nor Epoch has version-support and obviously a user-created mashup of two mods of a mod can't give any feedback whatsoever, as it was never supposed to happen. This is the reason I don't offer support for it, it's tedious. DayZ Mod gives this feedback and is as easy as can be due to these very issue you're describing there. To play DayZ you can download it off Steam, as anything else is as confusing as you describe.

You didn't tell me that you were going. :O

I was going to ask you why you're awake at the time and whether you're drunk. But then realised it's not actually the weekend..

Please read the posts just before yours, as it's every likely it has been answered already. We have no control over the Hive. We are just as lost as everyone else.

Almost all servers now gone from DZC.. have they all moved to steam?
kichilron replied to thedogfoodyayho's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Where is all this talk of BattlEye stopping support coming from? -
Yes, because they're all over their OverPoop experience, which isn't available on Steam. But I am personally not offering any help for that - as we have no affiliation. So all I can say is that the actual DayZ Mod is on Steam and one-klick-launch without any trouble.

Merging

Yes, there is something you can do. Use either Steam-Version of DayZ (won't produce any problems) - or use this: http://dayzlauncher.com/

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

Don't. No need for insults. -
Why is it so hard to install and run?
kichilron replied to craigotron's topic in New Player Discussion
When you launch "DayZ Mod" it should go into the multiplayer-menu and show you a button named "Multiplayer" - which takes you a Multiplayer-browser. In there you will be able to click on "Filter" to filter for names, such as "DayZ" or "1.8.1" as that is the most recent version available on Steam. If you now double-click on one of the servers showing up in the list it will take you into the lobby where you can join the game. I can't stress this enough - please include as specific descriptions as possible, otherwise you won't receive appropriate help... -
Please keep the offtopic bantering out of this Forum. There is no need for it and you should settle down before posting. Comments hidden / topic cleaned.

Why is it so hard to install and run?
kichilron replied to craigotron's topic in New Player Discussion
You just keep saying "it doesn't work", which is as descriptive as saying "Something happened" as a witness in a murder-charge. We would be more than willing to help you out, but you're giving us absolutely nothing to work with here. Some information as to what is going on on your screen when "it doesn't work". -

kichilron replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I suggest you are staying out of this thread, if you can't say anything constructive, despite the fact that your accusations ungrounded. We can not help you here, if we want to. You will have to contact BE-Support and if they do not respond, you can try Steam Support, then go on to Bohemia-Support. Nothing you say on here will change your credibility, though. If anything, your complaints are making it worse. -

You are responsible for your game, please contact BattlEye for this kind of stuff - not to mention that you apparently just came here to insult other members, who have don't have any responsiblities towards your copy of the game anyway. -

It is not a setting as such, it's a procedure in the SQL. Only if you have full access to the procedures (which you only do if you're hosting it on your dedicated server), you will be able to change it. This would be in the cleanup-scripts of the Database.
