When using canned air, do not have the PC connected to the power and do not power it back up immediately after using it. It is fairly safe to use, but if used for longer than a few seconds on a single spot you get condensate and if the PC gets turned on immediately after that it can seriously harm it.

If you want to collaborate with other Content Creators, that's your thing, I don't think we need a pinned topic for that. Any BI-game, including the ARMA-series as well as DayZ relies on having a powerful CPU. This is the reason why your framerate isn't that good. An Intel2Quad is more than outdated to play games these days anyway, though. It may be time for an upgrade to keep up.

DayZ dedicated server files? when we get them?

I too have never heard of a statement like this. The files will be released at a later stage of the development, due to security reasons. There is no point in releasing them in the meantime when the base-game isn't done yet. The only thing that will do is split the community. Right now in this controlled system by BI we atleast can be sure that every server is on the same version, gets regular maintenance, etc. As soon as the serverfiles are released it's bound to be a massive clusterfuck of servers noone can control anymore. -
What are you using to monitor the load on your CPU? I have the same CPU and never had that issue. Have you tried taking out those launchparameters?

The reason for this is that DayZCommander always had and still has its own database of chaced servers it used to be able to scan in the past to reduce workload. This way it doesn't have to scan on its own over and over and over again every single time and can instead rely on information it gathered at an earlier point. But what DayZCommander can't do anymore with the switch to the Steam-Servers is to search for new servers that have been added since June / July. This is why it's not recommended using it at all anymore. -

I usually shine in bright rainbow colours. Or pink. Whatever I fancy on that particular day. Rocket goes by the name of Rocket ingame, not Dean Hall. Don't let yourself get tricked by names, obviously there are going to be many impostors. -
Make sure you set your aspect ratio to whatever your monitor is in. You then have a different set of resolutions to pick from, including 1080p and above.

Make sure you have the correct version of DayZ Mod when you are trying to join the server. The current version of DayZ Mod is 1.8.3 - this should be reflected by the servername you are trying to join. I also edited the title of your topic to make it a bit more descriptive.

Hello and welcome to the Forum, make sure to make yourself familiar with the layout and rules / guidelins before posting - as this is the section for DayZ Standalone. The DayZ Mod is a Modification for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead - so only having that will not suffice. The things you will need: ARMA 2 ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead DayZ Mod They are all available on Steam. -

You can not play without the Steam-Version, as GameSpy shut down. However - if you have a retail-version of ARMA 2 / ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead with the original CD-Key you can activate it on Steam without any extra costs, though.
