Blaming the Developers for not finding anyone in the game has got to be one of the most nonsensical things I have heard thus far, though. Kudos! Even I learn something new every day. This thread has run its course, multiple times have you said it is the Developers fault and that the game will never be finished, is a buggy mess, etc. Yet you have played for a year now and most likely have a huge amount of hours on it. This is more than likely more than you will spend on any other game. So instead of blaming the Devs for releasing it you should thank them. Otherwise your entire presence here doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

It is still more than you know about Alpha. Expect it to change, as development starts focussing on optimization. For now your findings are pretty irrelevant, as performance jumps around a lot.

This literally doesn't say anything. Serverside-FPS can be that low at times, this doesn't say your client FPS have to be that low. Nor does it say anything about firefights. What exactly is the purpose of this?

You haven't really been overly nice yourself. In your opening post you admitted to abusing the mechanics and serverhopping and continue to blame the game for not finding what you want. Hardly anyone will take your seriously after this. I am not blaming you, I am merely pointing out as to why the people reacted the way they did. You tried acquiring something that is hard to get illegitimately by abusing the system and after it didn't work you came here and blame the game-mechanics. It is supposed to be hard, it's survival, it's called game-mechanics. At this point in time it may even be easier than in the finished game, due to the global loot distribution. Dean himself said his aim was to create an Anti Game. If you don't want that, it's not the game's fault. You can't cater 100% of the playerbase. It's simply impossible, due to the nature of mankind. As far as this topic goes: it's run its course. Expect to get a backlash if you're abusing the game and then complain about not succeeding. Also: World of Warcraft-Mounts, anyone? Only able to be acquired once a week with a droprate of 0.1% dropchance.

Are you sure you have the same version as the server you're trying to join? How are you launching the game / mod?

It actually is a phenomenon and was even more so when it was affecting your temperature a little bit more. And just think about the future and how it's going to be harder with the weather actually affecting your gameplay a lot more, then it would get a bigger issue.

If you launch DayZ Mod and go to the mainmenu it tells you on the bottom right.

US 388 is run by us Developers. The reason most likely is that most of the others haven't updated yet. Make sure you're joining a server that's running the same version as you are.

As far as setting up DayZ Mod goes: Buy ARMA 2 on Steam Download ARMA 2 from Steam Launch ARMA 2 through Steam Buy ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead on Steam Download ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead from Steam Launch ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead through Steam Download ARMA 2: DayZ Mod from Steam Launch ARMA 2: DayZ Mod through Steam Done.

Hello there and welcome to the Forum. Make sure to make yourself familiar with the rules / Guidelines / Layout before posting, as this is the section of the Standalone. Moved. Non-Steam-Versions aren't supported anymore, you will have to activte it in Steam to be able to play it. The CD-Keys you got with your purchase will work just fine. This is because Gamespy shut down and it's using the Steam-Server-Browser to be able to play. Without this you wouldn't be able to find any games anyway on the non-steam-version. Also - do not use DayZCommander anymore, it is out of date. You can acquire DayZ Mod through Steam as well (it's for free).

I don't understand. You had your resolution set up wrong up until this date and are blaming it on the game? Most of the games I launch for the first time have their settings completely wrong.

Isn't it funny how you claim it's one of the best and oldest Servers, yet I have never heard of it? Despite the fact that you're claiming its 3,5 years of service. DayZ Mod has been published in April 2012, which is just about 2.5 years. Looks like advertising to me - but why bother? It's shutting down.
