Public dedicated server that possible?
kichilron replied to adncriminel's topic in General Discussion
Don't discriminate. English isn't everyone's first language. It's not my first language as a matter of fact. Yet I've seen proper Englishmen typing and speaking worse than this. They're not out of the question, it's simeply a matter of securing the updates for the time being. Currently the Developers have full control over the servers, as long as they're with trusted GSP's. When there's an update, they will be updated. But as soon as the serverfiles are being handed out, it'll massively separate the market, as there'll be literally hundreds of servers that were once put up, but never updated. Some of them will have versions as old as the time the files were handed out, others take about a week to update, and by that point there's another update out already. Especially considering the huge updates that hit DayZ frequently this is bound to happen when serverfiles are released. Expect to have the opportunity to host your own server later down the line. -
Care to elaborate on that? Modding is the only thing that made DayZ possible in the first place - amongst many other games, such as CS.

global frequency channel for walkie talkies, more interractions
kichilron replied to dayz_geek's topic in Suggestions
I suspect that they will be fixed eventually. At the latest when we're getting to Beta (as that's when bugfixing takes place). I hope that answers your question. -
When I join a server, server goes down
kichilron replied to noobless (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Please make sure to read the Announcements and search the Forum: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/191410-dayz-support-stuck-characters/ Follow the steps in there and you will be good. Do you happen to have a lot of items on you / stacked inside each other with the help of Storage / Ammo-Boxes. -
global frequency channel for walkie talkies, more interractions
kichilron replied to dayz_geek's topic in Suggestions
But we already do have the Walkie-Talkie? I am not sure I quite understand. -
How unusual for a Zombie Game.

A lot of Germans do. Audi / Mercedes / BMW - the standard of any German high-value car is Automatic. More effective to skip 3rd, going from 2nd to 4th, as that way you will be able to get the most torques anyway. But all of this is awfully offtopic. The biggest thing that this introduces is the possibility to downshift going uphill, giving you the power you'd need to actually do it. Very exciting indeed.

Thanks for the feedback, a few things to note: It is far easier (even for freshspawns) to maintain temperatur in houses - which should be the main to do this and a way to make it have less of an impect. Everything should simply slow down. You should be able to maintain a fire if you keep adding fuel, no? If you do let it go out you will need another Match. It's a design-choice and one that makes sense IMHO.

So i wonder if it was like this when i was a kid.
kichilron replied to sneakydudes's topic in General Discussion
25 years ago there was no Internet 2.0 and most certainly noone could afford Internet. It really only started commercialising back then. Either way: Don't. You should know better than that. -
Depends on the server. You will have to ask them and/or whatever Forum they're using. We only support DayZ Mod here.
-
I don't think you understand the concept of a survival game. I very much doubt that this will be something that will be introduced - maybe there's some hope for you when modding comes along, however. I don't doubt that Epoch/ Easy-Mode will be reintroduced for the more casual player.
-
Why don't you just use the game's Multiplayer-browser? If you can't find anything in there, you'll not find it anywhere. It's directly hooked up to the Steam-Server System, so is DayZLauncher. But if using the ingame browser you don't even have to relaunch the game everytime.
-
Don't use DayZCommander. As you can clearly see here, it doesn't work. DayZ Mod will always be available in its newest version on Steam, with an easy 1 Click Installation & Launch
-
Please don't post ways to duplicate gear. It should be obvious to not abuse this kind of stuff. Topic cleaned.
-
We don't take care of those, not the place to post.
-
When you launch the game, in the mainmenu on the bottom right it will tell you which version you're running. Rightclick DayZ Mod on Steam Go to Properties In the now opened window click on the "Beta" Tab From the dropdownmenu under "Select the Beta you would like to opt into" select "1.8.4" It will redownload and you have 1.8.4
-
So, just so I get this right.. You're running 1.8.4.1 and you're joining a server that is running a different version than you are (1.8.4) and you're wondering why it's giving you the message that you're running a wrong version?
-
It may have to do with the fact that it somehow has to create an overlay for it to be working (needed so you don't tab out). This may cause issues with DayZ, as some other overlays have stopped working in the last patch as well (due to security-reasons)
-
Did you read the patchnotes? I believe that this is being worked on. If you have any way to make this reproducable, please do report it on the Feedback Tracker.
-
This. Yes, you'll be fine jumping off it and having your hands free with no additional weight on you. But a 2m drop with possibly a rifle in your hand as well as a lot of other stuff you're carrying will have dramatic effects.
-
Also important to note that some of the Private servers do infact show up as "Public" in the listing.
-
You seem to be praising them quite a lot. Does it have to do with the fact that you're basically making money with your referral links for them? I would suggest you calm down on that a little, seeing as it can be considered spam / ads.
-
This sounds a lot like you either have a massive issue with your keyboard or you have some sort of controller plugged in that misconfigures itself (TrackIR? Footpedals? Rudderpedlals? XBox Controller?)
-
I have not heard of that and most certainly not being a part of ARMA 2 / DayZ. Have you tried pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL and after that "ESC"? This will throw you back into the game and maybe you have your cursor back. Moved to Mod-Section.

Looking to start a small group DAYZMOD

Please make sure to post in the correct section of the Forum. Moved.
