This should give you a hint already. Just make sure have "ARMA 2" and "ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead" installed, preferably those both exactly. There are other ways with ARMA Free, but those will just create more problems for you, if you don't even know where to start. Easiest way to obtain those 2 is using Steam. Install "ARMA 2" first and run it once. Then install "Operation Arrowhead" and run that as well. Now you only need DayZ Commander, which can install everything for you. And from that point you can pretty much start already. If you encoutner any further problems feel free to contact me.

Even though there are quite a few new players these days, that's just because Epoch has managed to raise the playercount again. If that's good or bad is not my place to judge in this thread, but fact is that a lot of people have been joining lately and asking questions. They're not the problem. The newbies have always been around and they sometimes don't know where to post, because they're new to this stuff and a lot to read. And that's not a bad thing, as everyone started out like that once posting in the wrong section. The problem I see growing is the "veterans" that aren't actually helping people in threads, they're here these days to troll. Whether that's because they can't be bothered to deal with it anymore does not matter. They can just refrain from posting on those threads alltogether, then. But I see it happening more and more that alleged veterans derail topics in which new players have been asking for tips on general gameplay or how to fix their games or entire servers. I am happy to help people out, and in my oppinion you should find a different place to post your "funny content" other than those threads. If you can't deal with it - leave it alone. Easy as that.

I personally have stopped playing on the servers I manage simply because noone can say anything, then. Obviously you still need to be ingame to monitor the server and the players - that doesn't mean you're a regular player, though. And even though I have stopped playing as a normal player on those servers I have power over there are still people calling out adminabuse, because they see you ingame (on the playerlist) and assume you're playing normally. The only way to stop that and stop getting heartattacks over wrong accusations is just to stop playing. There are a lot of other servers out there you can spend your time on and play normally, if that's what you wish to do. If you simply change your name and play amongst others pretending to be a normal player you will sooner or later be called on that and have an even worse argumentation, even though you ahven't been abusing your powers. In my oppinion there's only one way: be admin or be player.

I changed one or two things here and there to get rid of a couple of commas (as usual in German there were far too many) and to create a bit more tension while reading by altering the punctuation. I also changed the first sentence significantly, as the second part is present, while the first one was past - which doesn't make sense at all.

In 1.8 the loot has been changed drastically and has been revamped completely. You no longer have trashpiles -there's only generic loot, but the trash is in the generic lootpiles now. That results in having lootpiles with empty tin cans and food in one pile. So you have to search every lootpile to make sure you're not missing anything. That is basically what was changed and at the same time loot has been reduced drastically, because it was (just like you said) too much in general. You will still be able to find tons of food and drinks in grocery stores, but I find that hospitals generate WAY less loot than they used to. In short: What you describe is what I would consider "normal".

It would be interesting to know, whether you have been playing on one particular server the entire time or tried multiple ones. Because it really makes a difference. Is it safe to assume that you have been playing actual DayZ (Currently Version 1.8.0.3?) I hoped that helped, but you have to understand that this is a very complex thing and if you have further questions feel free to ask them at any time. EDIT: why bother? Sadly Electricfuneral has ignored every single of my posts regarding this and completely ignored my valid arguments, which leads me to the feeling he's only trying to troll anyway. I do not think it's worth even trying anymore, as our playerbase has clearly stated none of the accusations are true.

Yet the possibility to do this is built in the code and needs only one line of code packed in a loop and you're done. Nothing needs to be abused to use it.

Over who? Have you ever watched an actionmovie and enjoyed it? Or have you always been thinking "His clip should be empty by now - why is he not reloading?" If you have ever thought that and didn't switch your TV off immediately it makes you a hypocrite pointing it out on here. If you haven't been thinking that it - why would you think like that in this case? It is a video for entertainment purposes - just like your average actionmovie.

May I ask you what "this very cheat" is supposed to mean? Which one would that be? How does it work? And how does it affect you as a player and changes your experience in a bad way? Because it seems like you missed my point yet again: DayZ is based on ARMA-scripting and the code does not differ it any way from the one people use selling "cheats". If you think scripting for ARMA is bad - you wouldn't have ever played this very mod.

As MustyGaming is an open multigaming community we can not tell anyone what to do or what not. Everyone has their oppinion and it's not my place to decide. Baker is not part of staff of MustyGaming and his oppinions are his own. Whether I am taking his side or not is not part of this discussion. I am trying to solve this matter in a way people understand that scripting is not what Musty represents. If anyone wants to see otherwise that makes me sad, yet I can barely change it. You do not seem to understand that it is not a hack that was used in that video. Even though you keep mentioning it - it doesn't become true, you know? Have you ever worked with ARMA? Have you ever seen an event organised in ARMA? I find it hard to believe you know anything about it and just because it was used in a closed environment it doesn't mean that you can see all MustyGaming-Administrators are abusing this and go around the servers using "Unlimited Ammo". Who tells you that these admintools you see on our development server are part of the admintools we use on our public server? Do you have any understanding of how ARMA-scripting works and how it affects the players? No MustyGaming-Administrator ever used any "hacks" on our servers. The way ARMA works and how the scripts and commands work and how the engine is made makes DayZ what it is. Without the ability to be able to manipulate the ARMA-engine DayZ and all of it's mods wouldn't have existed in the first place. I have to point out to you yet again, that what you see in there is not a hackscript. You seem to think that any sort of scripting is bad, yet the only thing that poisoned your mind is the fact that many people have been using the same scriptcommands used to create DayZ and Epoch and all other mods are used to manipulate the engine in a way that it causes damage for other players. If you find proof that this ever happened feel free to contact BattlEye or anyone else you deem can do something about it.

I do not. Noone has ever said, that this is a promotional video. It was a video we only posted on our forums to tease Statik's crew. Because the people that are a part of our community actually know what is going on. Using the admintools is a necessary part of our work, as there are a lot of bugs occuring in Epoch and we need to sort those things out. Epoch is not Vanilla DayZ and you shouldn't try to see it as such. It might be something you wouldn't want to see on DayZ, but in Epoch it sometimes is necessary to help people out giving them their keys to their car back, because they have lost it due to a glitch. Or maybe delete parts of their base because it was moved due to a glitch after a restart. If you would want to run all the way over there to help someone out as an admin, that's fine with me. Go ahead and do so because you think anything else would be "cheating". Last time I checked "cheating" would be giving yourself an unfair advantage over another player defeating them in a fight, that was supposed to be equal. This is not the case, as we do not play on the server as normal players. We are acting as admins and just because the environment in DayZ used to be changed by admins abusing their powers and scripters - this is what poisoned your mind. It is not us, who are helpful admins having to change problems the gameengine / glitches / actual scripters produced. Do you not think it's a good thing we can provide an environment we can control and give you the safe feeling so you know we could repay you if you have been killed illegitimately? We are not players and I fail to see why you want to call us out as players abusing their adminpowers, we are not abusing them and we are not even players on that server - we use them to make sure everything is working okay in the way we intended it to give players the experience they are supposed to have. I suggest we all leave this discussion as is, because otherwise everyone would make fools of ourselves creating more problems then there actually are. I wouldn't have thought people that have no connection to our community whatsoever would get into a discussion over how this could be abused, because they think it's a case of hacking? It is not and simply because you call it that one can clearly see how you don't have the knowledge to judge what is going on. These days any admin theoretically has the chance to have these powers, if they know how to read - as there is tons of tutorials how to enable admintools on your server. And we all have agreed to the fact that we aren't going to play as normal players on our server because of what these tools offer us. At the same time we're monitoring people's behavior banning a lot of people that are actually using hacks, just because we spend our time not actually playing, but monitoring the server. If you really want to go ahead and judge us for the time and effort we have put into our servers just because we were making jokes about a group of people playing on our servers (those people actually got the joke, as Statik is the one that posted the video and is part of that exact group). We currently have 5 Epoch Chernarus Servers running that fill up to 50 players constantly over the weekend and we need monitor the servers and if you really want to go ahead and judge us while you're not part of the serverpopulation, but standing on the outside - go ahead and do so, as we wouldn't need you on our servers anyway. Noone abuses any adminpowers and goes around using these powers against other players.

It's funny, because everything you see in that video happened on a passworded server we usually test functionalities on to improve players experience. And I'm fairly certain that anyone playing on our servers regularly can assure you that no adminabuse is going on whatsoever. Why would we even want to do that? We're spending the majority of our free time to host the servers for the community and develop / admin it almost 24/7. After all the time we put in the servers to see our playerbase being happy about what's going why would we run around shooting players with an M9 and infinite ammo? Maybe you should think before assuming there's adminabuse going on because someone has infinite ammo in a video that was shot for the only purpose to create laughter (on a passworded server only developers have access to)

I was thinking the same when reading that. How would that contribute to developing DayZ? And I actually thought Deadcert would be someone who appreciates a bit of vanilla DayZ after he has made videos and threads about it. But apparently he doesn't even know what it's all bout. Always been like that. VRotor is not the Mainrotor. The Mainrotor is the HRotor = Horizontal Rotor. The Vertical Rotor = VRotor still makes you spin. Marked as ATRQ = Antitorque in the HUD.

Helicopters don't explode when shooting them. And they still fly perfectly fine, even with no Main Rotor. You only need an Engine to get it running.

I mean, yeah. We're into facial hair. But I have yet to hear from the fact that we have those sorts of servers. :P
