All time favorite item in DayZ, and why?
kichilron replied to {TMW} Crackahhh's topic in New Player Discussion
It usually doesn't just break your legs, but also makes you bleed. If you're very unlucky it knocks you out resulting in bleeding out. -
Frankies dayz sniper rifle zoom tool
kichilron replied to DropBearChick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Do you seriously want to mess with Inception.? I would rather be scared. I don't even know what there's still to discuss here - he's zooming in while editing the video. If you watch very closely you will actually be able to see it as you see single pixels on the screen and the DayZ-GUI disappearing. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. -
Do you have customscripts installed? Did you change anything about the mission-files and the serverfiles? If yes, did you use the old ones those after the last update?

make loot stop spawning and also zombies
kichilron replied to piffaroni's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Disable Zombies and loot? Easy - disable DayZ on your server or get a normal ARMA 2 server. <_< -
DayZ SA: Steam Community Chat Questionnaires
kichilron replied to TIC's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I see someone has read the spoiler-topic. Not really much new to read there, sadly. Yet again it's proven that we will have to wait and one day it's just going to be there. Most likely released while I'm sleeping. So I won't have a copy. -
just some suggestions/improvements
kichilron replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Wrong place. This is DayZ, not Epoch. ;) Epoch is here. -
Requesting authentication in dayz epoch
kichilron replied to Blackouthoof's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Is it on all servers or one specific one? Is your version up2date? (1.0.2.5) Have you tried other mods? We need more information than: "Can't join server.", as it has about a million variables what it can be. For a start it can be a problem with the server you're trying to join. Try joining different servers. -
It says on "Can you run it" i Can run past recommended Setting but i Cant HELP!
kichilron replied to reventing's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
And doesn't it only check whether you can run ARMA 2: OA? You will most likely be able run that perfectly fine. However - DayZ or even Epoch is a completely different thing and 25 FPS is (for some mods of the mod / some servers) a perfect FPS-rate. -
Need Medical Assistance on a Private Hive? Find a Medic Here!
kichilron replied to herrjon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
With this new initiative we're looking to expand into other mods to raise the awareness amongst new players who mostly play everything but Vanilla DayZ. That means that we are going to heal on any mod available on DayZCommander and that can be launched through it. (Which means most of the other maps for Epoch, like Taviana, aren't going to be supported.) -
I was talking more in general if running on a 64 bit in general. I have 8 GB and reach around 70-80% on a normal day. ARMA itself doesn't really care about RAM - I know. It was a suggestions based on whether he wants to use his computer in the future. Noone would buy a new system these days with just 4 GB of RAM.
-
You won't be able to achieve anything with 4 GB of RAM. Other than that your best bet is to post in here.
-
Sorry for the fontsize - I was tired. The reason I'm pointing it out like that is that servers impact your performance more than anything else, especially with that setup he's got and especially on Epoch.
-
20-30 like you stated in your initial post is pretty normal on Epoch in my book. I am afraid there's barely anything you can do, as Epoch is extremely poorly optimised and you need to be lucky to get more FPS.
-
As long as you don't have an old computer or not the best setup it will not be worth turning your graphics down. It generally is something you will have to get used to, as it is a legitimate way to hide - even though most of the time you will be able to make them out. Take a look at the bottom of the tree - usually there's nothing there and you will clearly see feet sticking out. :)
-
You need to adjust your BattlEye-Filters so they don't kick you anymore. If you don't know how - did you download the official ones?
-
I wouldn't worry too much, as 40 is more than average on Epoch and perfectly fine to play with anyway. I don't see it happening that you're going to be boosted up anymore anyway - and the others might just be making their numbers look better anyway. (It's that penis-syndrom, you know?)
-
SERVER != HOME-PC His computer can not affect the performance of a server he's playing on and thus he needs to make sure he gets those frames on any server - as I can assure you I get 60 FPS even in towns when playing on one of my very own publichive servers, while there are servers that haven't been restarted in a while and give me about 5-10 FPS. The server sometimes is the one dictating the max clientside FPS.
-
Doesn't look to bad from what I have seen there. Keep it coming with a lot of details and stuff to explore - that is what matters. Any kiddo can smack a floating firestation on a server, so good additions are quite rare.
-
We can not help you, as what you're talking about is Epoch, not actual DayZ - and which vehicles / items traders sell and how much those cost is only controlled by the serveradmins of the server you're playing on.
-
I was going to say - we have that already. It is called publichive, which is basically a shared database, so you can switch between servers and still have the same character.
-
How would his machine at home influence serverside-performance? That's why I asked for the server in the first place - as they greatly impact performance. A server not restarted in a couple of days can easily give you extremely bad FPS while it can give you 60 FPS again fresh after a restart.
-
Did you even read his post? How would an i7 2700k be causing those issues? @Oshio: Have you tried different servers? What mod are you playing?
-
Have you tried different servers? Are you playing actual DayZ or Epoch?
-
I wouldn't want to get in a discussion over this when you don't even know how it's going to be like in Standalone - as there's already a few points coming to my mind instantly. The serverpopulation will be much bigger than it currently is.At the moment it's fairly easy to find a server to play on that's almost empty the entire time. That's why it is easy to repair and keep a helicopter for a while and wait for the server to restart and then fly around looting everything. There won't even be vehiclesI mean - in the initial release of the standalone there won't be vehicles thus making this whole discussion pointless, as noone will be flying around looting all the crashes I'm pretty sure I can think of more while the discussion itself hardly makes sense, as we don't even know, whether we're going to have crashsites or not.

PMC / BAF DLC-Texture cause Lag/Stutter
kichilron replied to word.pad's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
It might not have to do with your DLC's or the changed setup. Since a couple of DayZ-patches back the servers stutter from time to time (every 5 minutes to be precise) when they're performing a timesync. What you're describing there sounds pretty much like that to me. Can you be precise about your stutters and lags and do they happen when playing just ARMA 2 as well? I mean - have you tried playing around in the editor or a custom-mission on your own for a while and experienced the same issues?
