You have seen a lot of things in the mod already and as it will still be Chernarus I don't think the feeling will ever be the same. Part of my experience was not knowing what is going on and the possibility to die nto stupid things like glitches or unnecessary stupidity. Yes, the map will be changed, but you will be easily get used to thew new stuff, as the basic layout will still be the same. That being said I am still lookijg forward to it, as it will offer us new mechanics we have never seen before and new things to discover. But I don't think it can bring back the "WTF is going"-feeling of the very first time playijg it.

Just as narkoman mentioned there's nothing anyone would be able to do without getting the necessary information to even remotely know what you're trying to tell us. :) If possible provide the exact errorname, best with a screenshot. Your "ARMA2OA.rpt" would be helpful, too.

Where did you type it in? Do you have the game on Steam? If so it would be in your Steam directory: "C:\Progam Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" Try searching for your game directory. If you don't have the BE files at all or deinstalled BattlEye, try reinstalling it. You need BattlEye to be able to join any server and trying to get rid of it for whatever reason will not help you.

You would have to change the clientfiles to have the skin showing up. Otherwise nothing would show up and the skin would possibly be invisible.

I wouldn't be particularly proud when it would take me 7 shots with a Lee Enfield to kill someone, when my forumname is pretty much the name of the gun.

You know what is worse? When you have TrackIR. You will end up in games that don't support it and yet you will turn your head. Or in Video you're looking to the edge of the screen expecting it to do something because you see somethign there and you NEED to check it out. But nothing ever happens.

I think it's interesting how you chose the title of this thread and I actually thought you managed to betray someone. But you didn't. You chose a title that will attract as many people as possible (even I fell for it, even though I know that your stories usually bore me.) But not only do you say "Medic off the forums" and then never mention it again - I also highly doubt that it was an actual medic and not someone you backstabbed while playing with them. Your story makes that clear by pointing out how he has behaving towards you, as he was planning on playing with you and repair a Ural. No normal medic would really think about that before even finishing up. And the way you have been behaving towards that guy - it's pretty much textbook asshole behavior that would cause the medics that went through our training to log off even before getting to you. Try again. Oh, wait - actually. Don't.

I don't know why this would be good knowledge, as you don't really have a choice what to use most of the time in Vanilla, but I like the effort you put in. ;) How long in total did it take you to figure it all out and put it together?

That IS your version-number ;) In your settings on DayZCommander.

Try updating BattlEye manually by downloading the files from here. Then paste them in this folder in your arma 2 OA directory: "ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye". It should ask you if you want to override those files.

First off - you need calm down. After that you need to install the latest Beta Patch. You can do that using DayZCommander where it says "ARMA 2: (Version#)". Also, make sure to check "Launch using Steam" & "Replace original ARMA2OA files with Beta so Steam works" and then you're all set.

I don't even understand what you're getting at. 100 MB? Of what? RAM? Wouldn't even be able to start. HDD space? Wouldn't be able to to get ARMA on there. Connection speed? Would cause Desync / Lag. We need more information about what you're actually trying to do here. Oh - and if you're actually running a Vanilla 1.8.0.3 Server and had to switch your Zombies off so people get >30 FPS you're doing something wrong, as any normal gameserver for 15$ / month gets better serverside FPS.

*Cough Cough* Seriously, though: enjoy the deaths where you're dying beacuse of your own stupidity or because of Zombies. Just enjoy death in general. I do. I break out in laughter. When someone kills me with a god shot I even applaud - when I think it's legitimate and a good shot. When you lose those things you can't enjoy the mod anymore, as death is a part of the game.

Did you just spoiler the Walking Dead with a DayZ-Suggestion? Way to go. But I really like the idea- that I have to admit.

I highly doubt that, as "PublicValuable Restriction"-kicks are serverspecific. I would try to contact the serveradmins that are responsible for that server as it can be abused quite a bit.

Wurt the? I don't. Anyway - does anyone remember Dean saying "you will be disappointed - if you can't deal with it don't buy the game!" After seeing the stream / latest footage it's safe to say, that this applies more than ever. It's not done yet and looks like it and has a lot of bugs. In its current state it really is an Alpha. We'll see his it turns out on ALPHA-release. But it will be bug-infested. I personally can deal with it, when I can know it will be fixed eventually. Hell - I'm still playing, even though I was playing when the mod just came out - and that was horrible. Horribly enjoyable, though.

With those settings it is not Veteran, though. It would be if you wouldn't have CH for a start.

You can update using DayZCommander. In your case you need to update the Beta-Patch to the version running on the server.

I haven't even heard of those versions before. If the server gives you "Bad Version - Server Rejected Connection" you need to change the allowed betapatch version to an older version in the config-files. Or update your Beta-Patch of your game.
