Headsup: My system is pure AMD-based. I do, however, acknowledge that Intel is better in single core performance. For what I'm doing it's better for me to be able to have more cores, and the extra I would have paid at the time for Intel i7 setups to have 8 threads would have been life-ruining. I still think that they're not quite done yet. I am really looking forward to what's coming with the next generation and I hope that I will be surprised. It's not always been "Just go Intel", they have all have their ups and downs - but at the end of the day we need both these companies. If AMD were to shut down business or even go into a different market because they can't keep up with Intel on their Enthusiast grade CPU lineups this would be very bad for the consumer. If this happened, expect the prices to go atleast to 150% for any Enthusiast grade Chip from Intel for no good reason. It's already almost impossible for any new competitors to come into the market (especially if we're talking GPU)... Let's just assume AMD would say - nah, fuck dedicated graphics, we'll just do APU's now. The only thing left would be NVidia and there would be no chance whatsoever for others to come into that market - and that's not because someone like QUALCOMM can't build chips - it's because about 78% of the performance of any GPU in games these days is the driver. And none of the other chip-builders have the experience to be able to catch up. You'll see that I'm right about the drivers if you take a look at the latest AMD-Driver for GTA V. It was an awful stuttering mess before AMD stepped up and released a driver specific for GTA. Now it's butter smooth.

Ping is not connected to your graphical settings or framerate in any way. Make sure you're searching for servers that actually show up with a low ping in your server-Browser. And - considering you're on a laptop - even though I shouldn't have to say this: If you're playing on a wireless connection, don't...

Then, when it's in your library, do the following: Rightclick DayZ Mod in your library Go to Properties Select "Beta" From the Dropdownmenu select "1.8.5" It's only in development release right now. It is not advised to edit the .cfg if you don't know what you're doing. Simply copy / pasting someone else's .cfg will not work in most cases. Follow the guides and test a bit yourself. I am supersampling my game at 200% resolution and still have acceptable FPS. Try that for a change.

Make sure to follow one of the many performance-guides out there to maximise FPS for you. Optimisation has been really good the last couple of patches. It's running really smoothly for me overall. Just make sure to not make the mistake of turning down your graphicssettings to gain more performance, as that will not always result in what you're trying to achieve..
