Just to make sure: We're talking about the mod? Because there are no tents in the Standalone-Version of DayZ! The Camping Tents in the mod are fairly rare on 1.8.0.3 and the best method I have found would be to search for spawned ATV's, as they always spawn with Camping Tents in their inventory.

I would love to give that a try, actually. For science purposes, you know?

As much as I like the books being ingame, there are over a hundred already. I don't think they should use more time on ingamebooks, as there's a huge variety already. Doesn't mean I don't like your book-suggestions. ;)

Even though I don't like reckless freshspawnkilling I believe killing other people has a place in the game and if you want to survive try staying out the areas people will be in, such as the coastal towns. Ah, now I see. That's Guba bay, is it not? I ran all the way up there a couple weeks back just to realise that Pobeda Dam is gone. :( Haven't even been able to run over to Rify to check the shipwreck, because I died.

Don't think it's possible. Actively using two different characters to give yourself an advantage is frowned upon anyway.

Good for you. Weapons isn't everything, though. How long did you survive without food and drink? 10 minutes?

Advertising serverhopping. Nice. That's definitely not the reason it appears to be easy for you. I'm not surprised, as you're actively abusing a gamemechanic exploit.

Locking a server will lead to abuse as it's happened in the mod. You'll be the only one on the server and can loot away with no risk and then possibly jump to a public server with your full gear and kill all the freshspawns. It's not different from cheating, as it's giving you an unfair advantage over other players. And I think you guys seem to be forgetting that it was forbidden to host servers privately on the mod last year as well. It only happened because someone hacked theHiveExt.dll and rocket said, that they aren't supported and not allowed. Let's just keep it to that for now, as noone asked you to host a server and there are plenty out there the community is not paying for and it will eventually become cheaper. We're paying 56€ / month, which isn't too far away from the prices in the early state of the mod, as it's hard to deal with, as it's new and there's no experience yet. And even though you might seem to think the hosters are updating very slowly - just take a lookat how many servers there are to update. You obviously would be quicker to update your server, but try doing it as fast as the providers with 1,000 servers. Give it time, you'll get around to be able to host the servers.

If this is about Standalone, then I can only say one thing: Already possible. (Except for the pistol, but I suspect bug.)

It's hardly destroying immersion, as you can talk to people right next to you? It's just a bug where people are hot-mic'ing serverwide, but that will be fixed soon anyway.
