Have you checked your launchparameters? Are you launching any other mods along with Vanilla DayZ by accident? Have you tried reinstalling it? Have you tried launching it manually so you can see if it's not for example DayZCommander doing weird stuff?

I think at this point it's quite undeniable that it has caused a stir within the community and he has admitted multiple times that he's not the best when it comes to PR. I don't think you can hold it against him, as he's been pretty much thrown into that position having to do everything on his own. Whilst it isn't necessarily a bad thing I don't feel like these very forums are getting enough attention. This isn't supposed to be one of those rants about rocket being on reddit or Twitter all the time, because frankly I don't care much about that. I do care about the moderators on here, though. It has been a nice ride and I have quite enjoyed my time on these forums since the very beginning, pretty much. I mostly don't even remember all the fun shit that went down on here, but I do see where it's heading at the moment. It has been all good and nice while it was a community project, no matter how big it was or still is. It still was a communityproject not needing strict moderation too much. But now it is a standalone game and I still don't see any changes in the moderation team. The BI-forums have a lot of moderators and are quite strict and the moderationteam on here is still being pretty lenient about certain things. This is not to talk shit against the moderationteam, it's more about how it's being organised from above. Main reason I am not here to say anything about the moderators, as I consider quite a few of them my friends. I work together with them every single day at other places and I can understand why they're exhausted at times. DayZ is now a Standalone game and the Moderators are still the same guys (with even less manpower overall) than the ones we started out with when the forums and the mod itself started. No new staff is being recruited and these forums are heading nowhere. Sometimes I go around reporting obvious trollthreads and spambots, but nothing happens, becauser there's noone online for a prolonged amount of time. This isn't the fault of the (only) Administrator nor the Moderation-Team. I wouldn't want to switch places with Boneboys, seeing as he's the only one managing shit on here. A community as big as this one deserves more help from their own project manager and the company that stands behind it and quite frankly more than a single Administrator is needed to manage a community like this. Same goes for the Moderators, there are simply not enough to keep these forums flowing. When I talk to single Moderators and they come home to be greeted by far too many reports because there are not enough Moderators around I think something needs to change. You now are selling this game and people come here expecting help, seeing as these forums are official. Often enough this help doesn't come and instead the community jumps in to either help or simply scream "ALPHA!" which in itself isn't really helpful, but due to the lack of moderation nothing else if left to do. Sorry about my rant and if I come across as a stupid idiot, but I don't feel like this place is getting the attention it deserves, as it used to be a great place to be and a lot of (longterm) communitymembers have turned their back because nothing's being done about it. I myself don't want this to happen just yet, which is why I'm still here, but I don't know how long it's going to stay like that.

What mod are you playing? Epoch? Vanilla?

That won't work, though. There needs to be discussion about it and there needs to be feedback. Whilst there could be dedicated "Changelog"-threads there also should be "feedback"-threads, because if there wouldn't be it would completely annihilate the purpose of this very forum. And if this would happen you would just end up with people opening their own threads and the need for more moderators.

As long as there are no private hives you will not be able to lock servers at that will just lead to that being abused. If it still were to be connected to the public hive you could just gear up without any risks and position yourself in a nice position in Cherno, jump back on a server that isn't locked and kill Bambi's. As long as there are no private hives that feature will be against the rules and your server will be taken down, and I don't expect Private Hives to be here any time soon.

That's the way it works, though. And what you're saying doesn't speak against the fridge system. Tents are vulnerable, so are fridges. Nothing is safe in DayZ, as it's not Epoch. That's just not how it works. Find yourself a sweet spot amongst the manymany fridges on Chernarus and you'll be good.

Are you sure it didn't get merged? You can check by checking your own content before throwing around wild accusations. If it really was deleted / hidden there's a reason for that and most likely against the rules.
