Switching Hard Drives (Moving Character)
kichilron replied to Tatanko's topic in New Player Discussion
You were most likely playing on his computer and on his Steam Account, which is why you had his character. -
Switching Hard Drives (Moving Character)
kichilron replied to Tatanko's topic in New Player Discussion
No, your character is bound to your copy of the game. You'll be fine even after reinstalling. There's infact nothing you can do to delete your character. -
There are 8 pedalbikes on the average vanilla server :)

Post patch poll: Summarising your views on Zombies
kichilron replied to Lionel Hutz's topic in General Discussion
Zombies are a fairly complex topic and we already had someone try to do a poll, but as mentioned - a topic with an extended discussion is more suited for this. Please stick to the original topic: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181561-post-patch-zombie-feedback/ Oh, and please atleast try to be nice. -
It really depends and I don't think we will be able to give you a 100% answer on this one. But it's entirely possible to play on servers with around 200-300 ping, even though anything above that will just be painful for you and all the other players. I guess it will be time to test it out.

There was this thread about what a mute person should do to play DayZ: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/175710-what-do-a-mute-person-do/ And the community I am part of actually had a deaf girl part of Staff for a while and our main focus at the time was the DayZ Mod - so if you want to, you can achieve quite a lot as a deaf person.

The reason Zombie clipping isn't fixed.
kichilron replied to Dontstealmycheese's topic in General Discussion
I was going to ramble on about how that's old news anyway and that noone seems to remember, but then I realised it's four months old. :D -
I don't see why not - as it's in the mod already for a few patches. :beans:

Can you point me in the direction of where I have insulted anyone? I was the one trying to be professional here. I was merely trying to get a discussion up and was ignored with all of my points so far. If anything he's the one insulting us and frankly doesn't do anything to get a discussion up: As with any suggestion, there needs to be a discussion about it. And this discussion thus far was about his suggestion already being in the making and that he just needs to be patient. If you can't engage in a discussion with valid arguments and without respect for others bringing up valid arguments that would speak against your suggestion, you needn't post in the first place. This goes for everyone.

As I am fairly certain we're talking about ARMA 2 it's actually fairly common. It crashes with the message: "BattlEye: Unhandled Exception" or something in the lines of that. Had multiple people reporting that crash.

Well, there is an official, pinned topic in this very section regarding feedback about Zombambles. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181561-post-patch-zombie-feedback/

How do you embed a tweet in the forum?
kichilron replied to Ministelis's topic in General Discussion
You can technically post HTML on the forums, I think it's just a matter of permissions. And the HTML-way is the only way I am aware of. -
How do you embed a tweet in the forum?
kichilron replied to Ministelis's topic in General Discussion
You have the option to click "Embed Tweet" when you click on any tweet. It will give you HTML-code to implement, for example: (you will just need to make sure to implement it as HTML-code) <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="de"><p>A portrait of a DayZ hero <a href="">http://t.co/EJPfThTl65</a> (via HeartlessOne123 on Reddit) <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23DayZ&src=hash">#DayZ</a></p>— Dean Hall (@rocket2guns) <a href="https://twitter.com/rocket2guns/statuses/447919964927033344">24. März 2014</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Other than that no idea - I am banned from Twitter. :D -
If I remember correctly, in one of the DevBlogs it was mentioned that this is 100% confirmed, just needs doing. Atleast back with the medics we were relying on having that at some point, to store blood.
-
Don't worry. Merely wanted to point it out. :) Most likely just coming from ARMA 2 anyway, so it's most likely not defined for SA (yet)
-
That's hardly new, is it? Already been in ARMA 2.
-
Wouldn't they have badges on them telling you what it'd be? Like AB +? And if they're ripped off and just on the ground in random locations, then they wouldn't be useable anymore anyway - do they not have to be cooled constantly?
-
Hello and welcome to the forums. You may want to change your name. ;) As far as Zombies go, the feedback belongs here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181561-post-patch-zombie-feedback/
-
Obviously will give you the original as well. Well, are you aware of the word "Standalone"? It's a "Standalone" game and you will obviously have to acquire the files to be able to play it. May that be downloading, yeah. I don't know what you're trying to get at.
-
Yes. Even though I suggest DayZCommander for everything else: http://dayzcommander.com/ There are a few attempts, yes. What do you mean?
-
The mods are all for free. :) You need this to be able to play: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4639/ It includes both basic ARMA 2 and the DLC "Operation Arrowhead".
-
There are quite a few mods: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/109569-index-of-dayz-community-mapsmods/ These are all modifications of the DayZ Modification for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. So you will need to have ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead to be able to play them, Standalone won't be enough.

Zombies hitting and ruining your gear in one hit
kichilron replied to DANHEX's topic in General Discussion
Thank you for your helpful and constructive input. -
It's not like noone is listening to the community, infact the dev's listen to the community quite a lot and take all the feedback into account. This feedback needs to arrive in appropriate fashion, though. If someone is just ranting about vehicles not taking into account how much work it is to implement the vehicles then I don't consider that appropriate feedback. That's just my oppinion, though. The vehicles are being worked on and rocket himself stated multiple times that the bikes are going to come sooner than anyone would expect them to be. But instead of doing a bit of research and calming down before posting soapmaker jumps on here ranting about bicycles and not realising noone is going against him, but ccalls us all fanboys. I can give you a reliable source for that. My experience. What do you think is needed to bring the bicycles in the game? If they were to add the ARMA 2 bikes they would look like shit, because the textures are old and not designed for DayZ. Imagine the feedback of that. More people would just jump on here complaining about them, just because you wanted to have them ASAP without giving it any thought? How would it work with the Database? It takes a lot of time and work implementing them into the database, so they save their position, respawn if necessary (not used for a while for example). Not only is it necessary to implement a respawn-query, but a damagehandler, a check whether it's being used or not. If you say they needn't be implemented into the DB, what would happen with them? Would they just spawn in the same location, so people would effectively farm them / serverhop to get a bicycle to get up north ASAP? If they wouldn't save to the DB it would destroy the feeling, as it would just be a race to the bicycle, that's all. Who would find the locations? Someone would have to spend hours searching for places where bicycles could spawn. I could go on forever, as you don't seem to be understanding how it works and that it takes longer than 5 minutes to implement bikes. You also don't seem to be understanding, that it's already being worked on, so go out there and acquire a bit of knowledge about the current situation before coming back. TL;DR: Think before posting.

Are the Devs aware of the lack of loot spawning?
kichilron replied to nvrsbr's topic in General Discussion
Doesn't necessarily have to be that, you know? Just one way to temporarily deal with server-performance after the respawning Zombies were added. Though I have to say that I played a few hours ago and didn't have that much of a problem with loot.
