That is nothing included in DayZ, it must be an external program. Make sure you don't have some overlay running, such as TS-overlays.

How are the Steam-Announcements less official than these? Why are we more official than the Steam-Hub dedicated to that particular game? You most likely didn't even read the hotfix-announcement, as it were exactly three things being changed by the hotfix, that's it. Nothing that affects your gameplay nor is it worth starting a new topic for. If you say you're done with it, be done with it. You're obviously browsing the tumblr anyway, as you have proven and posted yourself and the steampage as well. What are the most popular VoIP programs for DayZ?

Teamspeak is by far the most common one and depending on how many people you've got around on a regular basis it's the best solution. Skype can only have a certain amount of people in one call as far as I am aware, whereas on TS it's only limited by the licenses you own and the server you've got. TS is also easier, as you can just drop in and see who's online and such. I like TS. :) -
Try to use DayZCommander, as it's especially tailored to launch DayZ Mods. What you're describing sounds like it's not launching the mods properly.

You sometimes see the shape of objects, such as houses and trees change when zooming in. This does not apply for players.

A hotfix, mainly serverside. Hotfixes don't always get their own announcements, especially if they're as minor as jumping from 116181 to 116251 -
Yes, it can make quite the difference up to a point where your character can possibly crash the server if you've got containers inside containers. It's currently being worked on, though.

There has been no update for the stablebranch, no. It's three weeks now. That's not too long and there will be an update soon enough. -
If you're changing it yourself you will not be successful. You need to stick to the original files and with 1.0.4.2 that file is in that place and should be there. If it isn't, your files are most likely corrupt. Try downloading the files directly from the Epoch-website.

I don't think you can change anything about the viewdistance much, as it's set by the game and is supposed to be set, so you can't change it.

If you're talking about the DayZ Standalone, then you will have everything you will need to be able to play the game, as it's a standalone game. This is the one I am talking about: http://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/ If you want to be able to play the DayZ Mod and other mods deriving from that you will have to buy yourself ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. I personally can play on American servers quite nicely, though I am from Europe. A ping of 150 - 200 usually is not a problem. -

You're exactly right. Announcements are to be made when there is something to be announced. But there is nothing to be announced, which is why there are no announcments. There is no patch yet and if there will be one there will be an announcement. It's sometimes as simple as that and no reason to be upset about it. -

You need to make sure you have the correct version of Epoch. It can be very possible, that it's the servers fault, so try to join a different server.

Hello there and welcome to the forums and congratulations to your first post. I do believe, that this is not really fitting for the universe of what DayZ is, though. It's supposed to be somewhat realistic and I don't think nametags or floating names would be realistic in any way.

Please use the correct section. Epoch is a DayZ Mod, not Standalone.
