  1. Bypass is client-side all execution is server-side so check those new logs of yours and you'll get him sorted quickly. Since you didn't mention him being kicked repeatedly I'm imagine you haven't implemented the new logging.. Read this thread (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138736-Introducing-Server-side-Event-Logging-Blocking&p=2207055) and you're on your way. In the future after you ban a user on your local be sure to submit your findings to http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/entry so everyone else benefits as well. :thumbsup:

  3. Nice work so far, looks promising. Do you have any intentions to also automate a way for this to benefit the community? I'm not familiar with your solution as I haven't installed it on any of our servers but can you make it easier in any way for your users to contribute to the community ban list (http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/list)?
  4. I hope you're submitting these to the community ban list http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/entry. There really won't be a need for threads like this anymore once everyone starts submitting. Then all you need to do is pull bans.txt from http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/#git%2Fbans and merge into your local.

    US 1993

    Spart, I'm sorry for any trouble that you may have had on US 1993 tonight. Unfortunately we had to take the server offline temporarily as there were multiple reports of cheating and we need to review our logs. We'll be bringing the server online shortly and I hope you don't let this experience be your last with us. The [OCN] tag you mentioned is not just a clan, the server is one provided by Overclock.net a tech-enthusiast community. OCN provides these servers to both our community and the DayZ community alike so that they may enjoy themselves in as safe an environmental as we can provide in Chernarus. We're currently running NT:OFF so logs are all we have at the moment to combat these cheaters. We will be revisiting that decision and having a serious discussion on the matter very soon. If we choose to turn on name tags screenshots and or fraps type recording will aid us in identifying cheaters but at the cost of immersion.     Unfortunately that cost cutting measure negatively effects the whole community. Nothing personal against HFB but as a provider of many VPS, they should be the first to enforce policy like this.

    Paronity sounds good where do I sign up? :beans: :beans: :beans: Please consider the following: BEC Integration Integrate reporter functionality to hack detection Monitor activity logs [*]Monitor RPT Live Similar in function to TA2DST by Tophe [*]Restarts Configure lock before and unlock after to ensure proper sync, times, messages, etc.. [*]Live map Strengthen player "tracing" (tracking?) and hack detection [*]Timed Messages Possibly individual files or a simple *.yml style document Whoever utilizes the API for an Andorid app please make a clean little widget for server uptime & activity. This project could be everything any DayZ admin could ever want. Good luck and thank you. The gear no longer saves to the hive so cheaters can't move around with such items. They join your server script/spawn in the weapon and I imagine this tool will be scanning the RPT so maybe it'll identify such gear and get the user sorted. :D
  10. It took less then 30 minutes to get our instance IDs when we submitted our tickets.. We're 24hrs now going into a weekend waiting for an IPs to be changed. To make matters worse a rep JD rubber stamped my first ticket within minutes of sending it thinking I was asking for an active ID. I corrected his error and he asked me to submit a new ticket with the subject "Whitelist IP Change". Considering how quickly he rubber stamped it I thought we'd be done it no time, I couldn't have been more wrong unfortunately. I figured a specific subject would get it done quicker.. I figured having just spoken to JD it would get have been done.. I figured being an active instance would get it done quicker. So have you been in the same situation? How long did it take you? So far I'm being told 4-8 days by people in IRC. 20 minutes to get active IDs, 24+hrs to change some IP addresses.

    Thanks, we just submitted two new ones as well. I'm in IRC speaking with them and they're not looking to provide support. It was far faster getting new instances activated then waiting for ANOTHER rep to look at the ticket. We were planning on bringing more instances online anyhow. How long had you waited?
  12. Groups play will be the saving grace for the casuals.. If balanced correctly I'm pretty sure they can pull it off without effecting the punishment that is DayZ. Dogs sound interesting but I think they're missing the boat.. While those mechanics are nice gimmicks they need to add pet gear.. Dogs can carry items, fluid, and act as an extension to your pack. Path finding and out-of-bounds sounds like it can't be fixed until standalone. Glad they'r getting the message on the abandon button and looking into grouping as well as other means to improve the fun-factor.

    Contact an admin over at US 1014 those were cheaters working together. The Survivor was Krucial alastian1 was BladezOfFury and Alastian2 was Dylan. Hilarious video btw! I heard some Chief Wiggum in there

    NFO is a solid company and their unmanaged VDS solution is a hidden gem in respect to DayZ. Their support is great, no matter the time of day or night and they respond to tickets within minutes.

  17. Let me begin by saying I've read that the VPS admins cannot perform any form of rollback.. I get that. I also generally understand the concept of the hive. I spent all morning trying to calm my group down making excuses for this server US# 500 by Multiplay. At this point though having looked into it I can't make excuses any longer. All this morning a group of us were cultivating an off-road pickup, we were doing great as we had a bicycle too. Long story short after some time and searching we had the truck in condition to move out. We relocated the vehicle inside the boundaries in the forest. We left two player at the truck, one inside saved, and one outside. I was on the bicycle making my way back out for supplies and I heard shots. I noticed zombies spawned in and a dead one outside, this was where we took the truck from. A few minutes later without notice the server immediately goes into a brief countdown and goes offline. Since we had been on for hours we figured it was a scheduled reboot. When we arrived back in my bicycle was gone, and the player outside of the car spawned in dead for some reason. The player quickly exited out and when the player came back they had all their gear on the shore in Elektro. Suddenly we see another brief countdown and the server goes offline again. We spawn in and everyone is alive but now the truck is missing. As we check our gear again we were all rolled back as we had raw meat we had collected hours earlier. What concerns me is the precision., I've personally never encountered such accurate rollbacks like that.. not to mention the multiple restarts. I've experienced a single instance hive sync rollback no matter the reboots but multiple rollbacks watching our inventories change was unreal. Thoughts?
  18. Mike, I appreciate you taking the time to respond directly and publicly. I looked for a representative before making a thread, also note this thread is NOT in the report sub-forum. However, you sir have a security breach already, a rogue admin, a poor host, or you're outright lying (no disrespect intended). If you have the means I would implore you to check your logs and I assure you that you'll see multiple restarts. I can't tell you why or who but I as well as others can give you our words that your server was restarted multiple times. Each restart our gear changed and vehicles went missing. Someone dropped the ball, someone is up to no good. You're not ogg to a great start mate. As far as the one day old comment goes I imagine that's directed at the other comments. We joined your server for the very reason all the Multiplay boxes were new and we HOPED we wouldn't experience foul play. To clarify I never associated your server with an older one. We assumed your new server wouldn't subject us to abuse, unfortunate for us our efforts were a waste. One day in and you already need to do some housekeeping, somebody is lying to you sir.     This is a very ineloquent way of solving the problem, rather simple minded IMO.. Knee-jerk. That is exactly what people will door.. Poor execution devs.
  20. First of all we're dealing with cheaters and script kiddies, not hackers. Secondly a lawsuit? Really? lol. If you'd like an example of a company stepping up their game check out (surprisingly) GamersFirst with All Points Bulletin: Reloaded. They outright took the game back from cheaters, not to mention its F2P. As far as the hackers go they're battling some of the better private cheat developers and winning. Did I mention it was F2P? Enjoy yourself.
