I stated in another post that I consider the sway a stop gap measure so far as prone position long range shooting is concerned. A firearm will not sway while rested on a bipod,it will move ever so slightly from breathing but it will not sway such as found in Dayz,this is just basic reality. Off hand shooting however I'm happy with the sway,good enough. Soft skills that reduce this effect over time can be implemented. Now as far as "sniper rifles" go,I think if the Devs keep the sway while prone at all rather than slight vertical movement from breathing then they are cheating and taking the easy way out of their job. The environmental factors as well as shot dispersion at increasingly greater distances can be implemented to create semi realistic and challenging problems to overcome. Wind and rain..when is it ever NOT windy or rainy as hell in Churnarus? Bullet drift would be quite dramatic in such conditions,rain would especially throw a round off as from the bullets perspective so to speak each drop of rain is like a concrete bead in it's way. Add fog and smog that limits visual range and the challenge increases as it pushes the "sniper" closer to the target and that much closer to an early death either by being forced into effective "assault rifle" range or being flushed out by zombies. Firearm and munitions condition has a very very real effect on bullet dispersion,shot dispersion and quality tier system (Pristine to Ruined) is already in game,the two need only be merged to have a simple but realistic effect. We'll have to wait on the weather physics. Maybe I've been under my rock too long and this is all planned anyway and someone will link it?

For now I can call the sway a stop gap measure for lack of atmospheric effects on bullet impact as well as lack of proper bullet dispersion effect based upon firearm and munitions condition. After everything is in place though if it remains then it can only be called taking the easy or lazy way out. Chernarus is a very windy/rainy virtual map and those conditions in reality are quite a challenge to long range shooters. Time will tell how things turn out for Dayz I guess. As Retro19 stated,in it's current format the Mosin gains nothing from a bipod at the moment and once other full caliber bolt actions make their way into Dayz I hope the Mosin is relegated to the position of Dinner Bell.

I am thinking it is random. There have been times my clan was fanned out 15 strong in all 4 corners and found nothing in 2 hours of searching and then on a fresh restart poof all 3 are there. All we can figure is its either random now or there is a bug like the restart bug where vehicles and tents vanish. EDIT: You you are running on a home sever like myself so restart that bitch,if you are hopping servers and finding nothing then you are just having bad luck.

No one was on overwatch to see you laying there. Piss poor planning on their part. When we refuel our chopper we have at least 1 person with an L85 on overwatch and we alternate refuels so not everyone is caught stuck in the refuel action at the same time.

Version 1.7.2.5? Probably as soon as the server restarts which is usually 24H at the minimum and as often as every 6 hours. Depends who the admin is and the settingd. Version 1.7.2.4? Only if stolen

You are not understanding a few things. Saving vehicles only saves items stored within not repairs or placement. In dumbdate version 1.7.2.5 vehicles are vanishing upon server restart,this may be the cause of your problem. Or it could be that it was just stolen by someone in a legit or non legit way(teleporting ect). If you plan to save your hard work be sure to play on a 2.4 server,be sure to park the chopper in a non obvious place far away from tents and especially other vehicles as those are teleporter magnets. There are issues with chopper respawns as well. Choppers are respawning where they crash after server restarts. If you DC and crash,are shot down and crash then it will respawn where it goes down. If in an open field it can be flown off with a restart. If in the water: wait 7 days and go get it at the island. If in the woods: maybe clear trees with Ural/push chopper, if trees too big,wait 7 days,recover from the island. Oh and pray no one touches it for 7 days or the timer is reset for another 7 days.

Name shaming is pointless,there is no way to know who someone is except by GUID and one can bearly GUID shame with all the GUID's that are farmed by thieves.

No one wants to go to a place full of graphics problems which is a boon right now for those who dont have those issues. Military zombies that cause the issues should be removed until the issue is resolved. The teleport issue took a hit from BE lately,I've seen a few dozen try it on my usual server and get zapped away. I've even seen one rather dense hacker try 3 times to teleport everyone to thunderdome only to have all 3 (likely stolen) GUID's banned. Different GUID,same name,same result.

I prefer the option that lets the admin press a button and the hackers game client is instantly uninstalled as this pops up....

I m a fan of both the CZ and M24,they are effectively the same rifle with different skins but due to the fact I can break down an M14/DMR mag for use with the M24 I prefer the M24. I've had no issues dropping members of the Darwin Award Society when they stop to loot the fire station or school rooftop.

Teleporters have more tools than admins,they can teleport anywhere they want and find anything they want. It is truely a hollow form of gratification. If I were you I would fly it for all its worth in one full tank of gas then crash the damn thing and start a forrest fire. The teleported will if you dont so why give him any satisfaction? You can rebuild the chopper on the next respawn.

It is a double edged sword sadly. Your only real option is to either reset/rename your server every few weeks. Banning their GUID's is almost pointless given the fact they steal GUID's like they use pirated OS and programs on their machines.

LOL you wouldnt have kept it long if they had outright givent it to you. Choppers never last more than 12 hours. NEVER. Someone will find it and crash it.

And that is why they are hacking in the ability to disable the Abort options prior to their actions. They do not like it when their plans are fouled by players just skipping out . The fact they've gone so far to disable the easier means to get out of the game says a lot about them and the hollow gratification they are trying to pry from the jaws of their own impatience and lack of determination.

Yet another bug into the bugzapper. You are not entitled to anything in Electra. If you are not QQing over snipers you will be QQing over the competition draining "your" resources,beating you to the loot or just killing you with Winchesters and Maks and taking the things you just picked up. Snipers are by far the easiest to avoid. I've been killed once by a sniper in Electra with an AS50 and that sniper was a hacker I had killed 5 minutes before. All the rest of my deaths have been close range all of a sudden popup guys with Maks,Winchesters,AK's and Enfields and one with an M203. Seriously if you are getting killed by snipers in a city with more places to hide than the rest of the map combined you stand no chance at all elsewhere no matter what gear you find or are given.

L85 AWS is not gone. They are dropping at heli crash sites all the time.

Yesterday. Our UH-1 shot down by some group with AS50's. BTW I never had issues with snipers. I go into Electra or Cherno after getting killed and dodge incomming 50's. I've even gone in to PvP in 3rd and 4th party fights. Sniper teams opposing each other,assault teams,noobs and us. Total mayhem. Total fun. The easiest to avoid where the snipers. The popup guys with 249's and M4 GL's were far harder to avoid. Give it time,you'll figure it out,learn and adapt or you'll just quit.

Entitled people are my favorite target. These people break every rule of common sence and charge into high traffic areas thinking they are king shit going to walmart or the 7-11 on the corner. My AS50 and L85 would be trash useless in Cherno and Electra were it not for these entitlement dipshits.

Supposedly choppers must be repaired before use and those that need no repair are hacked in however that is a known spawn point and that begs the question,why would a hacker spawn one in a hangar rather than outside where he could lift off without trouble.
