I also like this idea, equip the flashlight in the tool equip spot and you could then use it with your secondary while keeping your primary equipped, but on your back. So you could shoot with your secondary and use the flashlight at the same time but if you switched to your primary you would lose the benefit of the flashlight. There could just be a simple flashlight equip spot or have it take the same place the NVGs do for example.

It should be up to the players to dish out the consequences on other players. Something like, examine a corpse, see the name of the person who did it, track them down and punish them how you see fit. You could offer a reward to anyone who helps find and bring them to justice. Servers need to have a large community for it to work. If the murderer switches servers, it could inform the entire server that he joined and that he is infact, a murderer, then the community on that server could find and punish him. Either that make it so that we have to create a separate character for each server we join, then there would be no benefit from logging to switch servers. There shouldn't be an official system that punishes them directly, for example, "if you kill someone your total amount of blood decreases". I have 2 murders on my record, and they were both in self defense, I shouldn't have punishment forced on me.

Calling the police and/or a mental institution would help him much more. This will also save the life of his future family and other people he will come into contact with.

The nights better not ever change. I hate games where the nighttime is so bright that it's just daytime with sunglasses on.

I have a G17 that seems to work. I think we should be able to hold the flashlight in 1 hand and the secondary weapon in the other. For instance equip secondaries in the primary slot while the flashlight is in the secondary. Then when aiming down the sights, the flashlight will illuminate. Obviouly with this combination you wouldn't be able to use a primary. To use a Primary and a flashlight, you would have to find a primary that has one attached... or find some NVGs

I agree. I would tell people i'm helping to get down and if they moved from it I would open fire. I would make them stay their until after I helped and was safely away.

After looking at your profile, I think I have changed my mind about trying to get you help. Lol. Interests: Shooting zombies and other players in the face on DayZ with the occasional bit of SWTOR.

True that everyone will revert to their base character, but not everyone's base character is a senseless psychopath. I can guess that if I were in a situation like the zombie apocalypse, I would still not murder someone unless I had to, to directly protect myself or someone I care for. I would not murder someone just to take what they have, I would rather die. Fortunately for me, I know how to find food or survive off the land, so-to-speak. Other people who think the same way as I do but don't know how to survive may change their beliefs once they see their family or themselves starving to death. Humans are way to complicated, nothing will ever be perfectly black and white with us, myself included. All I know is that if I was alone with no one to care for but myself and for some reason couldn't survive off the land, I would die before forcefully taking other people's supplies, from someone who I didn't feel deserved it, determining who deserves it is the hard part and will have very large areas of grey. It would all be based on what you see and your own morals. I would rather die knowing nobody I thought of as undeserving had to die just for me to survive. Then again, nobody will ever truely know until they are actually in the situation, we can only make our best guess based on how well we know ourselves.

When there are no rules or consequences, the true character is shown. When people's lives(or items) are in danger, people will follow their base animal instinct, fight or flight, kill or be killed. I'm not saying DayZ is exactly how a real zombie apocalypse would be, obviously it's a game, but things like this do and will continue to happen. Personally if I were in this situation and I or anyone I care for was in danger, I would defend by any means. I would also help others who needed it if I was able. There is no debate when it comes to base animal instincts or the character of other humans in situations with no consequences.. If you don't want to be a victim, then don't be one.

Lol good thing you had 3rd on the server! I hate not having 3rd, I like to see my character when i'm just traveling and such. The 3rd person view is really annoying to travel or do anything in, I've tried to get used to it. Lol. Having 3rd enabled and crosshairs disabled is the best way to handle it.

There are already a ton of servers updated to 95168 but now 95208 is showing on the ArmA 2 Beta patch site. Hopefully it is backwards compatible. Lol.

"CH" is crosshair. I have a bitch of a time trying to find a veteran difficulty server that has 3rd and crosshairs enabled that is also GMT/UTC -7.

It would have been awesome to know I had sniper covering my ass. I had a lot of fun doing this, I Love being a medic.

I don't think anything should be changed other than the spawn rates of the items. Nothing needs to be removed.

I wish I had a sniper rifle, I would spend my days Hunting Bandits.
