  3. Easy to say when you haven't volunteered to serve. Extremely unintelligent, offensive, and disrespectful post. With a personality and world view like that I find it shocking you feel the problem is "entitled" people.
  4. The only thing anyone here feels entitled to is their opinion. This is a forum after all, a means to convey ideas, thoughts, and opinions. I know some will not agree with what I or many others have said. What I dont understand is how we cant have a conversation about it without it going personal or being filled with useless dribble. I also dont see how because our opinions do not fall in line with yours, or others for that matter, that some how we feel entitled. I will use an example. DayZ has an avid following and many believers in the upcoming stand alone project. WarZ has a far smaller audience and many who doubt its origins, originality, or even its existence. (As I do, I will NOT be buying WarZ as I am a rabid fan of DayZ) But what separates these two is simple. What makes one a winner and the other a potential loser. The mod. We believe in DayZ because of what we see in the mod. We are going to form our beliefs off the direction the mod will follow. If we leave the mod broken then what have we to follow? What have we to believe other projects would fair better? If you took the mod away then both DayZ and WarZ would be all the same to any of us.
  5. I dont agree with some of your post. One person can have a big impact on any developing game. For example there was one person with my gaming community who played DayZ. He spoke highly of it and made several posts with information. Now over 20 people from that community have gone and purchase ArmA II and play DayZ on the server I provide. What if that one guy had a terrible opinion about DayZ? Word of mouth is everything. Yea he may be just one person but there are a million of them. The players did make this popular. The game didnt play it's self.
  6. Who said it was to the point of leaving? Or that we were mandated to stay? If I felt this way I'd be off to other things, not here talking about it.
  7. Yea, I'll be here waiting on the get hit part. Maybe you should re-read my initial post and discover my awareness of yonder travels. Or explain how a month translates to a "few weeks". Anyways, despite your condescending tone, you as well seem to be missing the point. Were not talking about a feature patch. Were talking about a fast and easy hot fix to repair what some find to be a core mechanic. I do feel I have been patient. This patch has been broken since day 1 yet I hardly said anything. I still love the game. In fact, part of my frustration stems from providing the community with a server that no longer carries some features that were once enjoyed by many. I dont understand how it is beyond reason to expect a hot fix, not a full feature patch. Maybe it's because the issue at hand doesn't affect your enjoyment of the game so you by default render all other opinions and points moot and invalid. I do how ever award you "sir points" for trolling like a sir.
  8. Not true. I have mentioned a couple times this is my opinion. I do feel its a huge part for a lone wolfer or an in game community. Your opinion doesnt match mine. Does that make your opinion or mine any less important seeing as we enjoy the same game in two different ways? Lets not pretend that somehow I am the only one missing this function. And a lot of the above posters are correct and I thank them. If i wasn't passionate about this mod I wouldn't be wasting my time posting here. This wasn't a call to abandon ship.
  9. No i guess its not broken when a newb can spawn on the coast, run to a broken duping tent, grab a L85/AS50 TWS and a ghillie and wreak havoc.. When no matter how many times you save that tent empty.. It always comes back. Nope. Not broken.

  11. Um we did? Have you seen the community fixes posted? Or are you all that disconnected? The community has done nearly all the work and we still cant get a hotfix?? The problem isnt even in the scripting. It's in the hive database interfaces that is screwing up the database calls. Do you have ANY idea what the fuck everyone is even talking about? No, im not sure where you got duping out of that. And yea, hes busy. Doing everything but coding on his laptop. He's not ready to release a hotfix? What, the conventions have him pinned down? And algebra isnt that hard.
  12. You are missing my point as well as this is all opinion based even on my part. You may not feel working tents are an important feature as many may agree with you. Just as many may feel that tents and vehicles not working are a deal breaker for them. I personally have had my enjoyment greatly decreased since these do not work. Again, just a matter of opinion. Calling people with an opinion a "cancer" seems awfully short sighted. I have been patient. I waited what I felt was a fair amount of time to fix the issue before voicing my opinion on the matter. What you and others seem to be missing is my complaint is not about the multitude of bugs or lack of features. Its the restoration of a CORE mechanic of the game which severely breaks the scavenging and survival aspect of the game. I have never said I have a say in how the game is developed but I do have a voice. As do you and all others who enjoy this game. We have the right to speak out in support or in disapproval of things we dont like and I feel comfortable saying its appreciated by the devs in one way or the other. I never claimed entitlement to anything. Im not sure where you got this. My complaint is in regards to the time taken to fix a very simple problem around a large core mechanic. I do not think it is outside the realm of reason to think a hotfix could have already been deployed instead of waiting for a feature patch. Im not sure where you intended to go with your reply but it seems you may have misunderstood exactly what Im getting at here. I never said I wanted to leave DayZ or that I was all around dissatisfied with Rocket and his project. I just feel that this particular issue did not receive the attention it deserved. You may not have noticed but I have not once complained about hacking, graphical glitches, admin rules, promised features, or any other topic. You can be chastised for disapproving. Or a fan boy for approving. I guess it all depends on your perspective and whether you possess the fortitude and maturity to respect a position that may be opposite of yours.
  13. This is exactly the result. Most buyers will associate the name with an unpleasant experience even if its a good final product or not. Less word of mouth on the net has a huge impact on games these days.
  14. 1) Um, ok. You didnt have to read it? If your irritated at reading these then how does it speak for your intelligence that you committed to reading another and went a step further to reply? 2) That still validates my point of taking entirely too long to fix a core mechanic. 3) Negative or positive a developer needs the heart beat of the community. If no one complained about certain bugs/features their importance would be diminished. 4) Never said I didnt like DayZ or that I would quit. Not sure where or why you made this up. I still pay my server bill every month. 5) Uhm yea, thats the result. You can troll all you want but you know as well as I do the fix for the tents and vehicles is a simple one. One that could have easily been encompassed in a hotfix many weeks ago with little effort.
  15. I understand the idea of an alpha trust me. Im not new to the internet. Saying "Alpha" doesnt explain why one feature was broken, a core feature, and has not been fixed a month later. You seem to have missed my point. Its not that a bug or broken feature is present. Its the fact it has not been addressed.
  16. I completely agree. It is the most fun time in DayZ. But its almost as much fun when you and your buddies set up camps, raid, stock your camp. I miss it.
  17. I understand, but seriously? We cant have a small portion of his attention to bring back a major mechanic of dayz? I mean I agree in part. But there's no excuse as to why this hasn't been fixed.
  18. Im extremely happy with the guys at HFB. Special shout out to Ryahn who has put up with my trivial questions no matter the time of day. Im real glad we stuck it out with the guys through the growing pains. our server has been without issue for a long time now and performance is great for what we pay. Kudos to you guys. Well done.

  22. So I had this thought. Even though im a bandit and guilty of the same thing, the massive weapon stores are making it far too easy to just run and refit without much effort. What if the system were setup where weapons degrade with use? Im not talking something drastic here like you wear it out in one day. But something that keeps the "supply and demand" a little more in balance. Say you use an AS50, been carrying it a week with substantial use. Well now it has a chance for the "action" to break forcing you to have to find some parts to fix it. Not too hard to find you know? Maybe down the road have an abandoned "gun store" where you can have a chance of finding odds and ends. Vehicles should be the same, requiring a bit more to maintain them but nothing silly where its an absolute hassle. Just a thought.
  23. I think its a blast :3 But its true, I used to hunt at the NW airfield only. Now it seems like no one even bothers.
