  1. Lot of that is too much to carry. 3 NVG's would be nice though. I guess if I had to pick though it would be bundle 3.
  2. Too bad. If you had SD amunition for your gun if it was compatible, it might have been better to switch to that.
  3. Now isn't the time for a reset. Hackers and dupers will be able to bring everything back up within days, perhaps even more. It also hurts us players who got our stuff legitametly, and what's worse is that the hackers and the dupers will be able to get their full sets of gear a lot faster than us players. This will only increase the strength of the cheaters relative to the players who don't cheat by creating a situation where they have all the gear and we have nothing. I say wait until all these duping, server-hopping, and hacking issues are dealt with before a reset.
  4. Guess you wouldn't want me to tag along with my m249 and L85A2 AWS :P
  5. Hit up deer stands and other military buildings (hangars, control towers, fire stations, tents) and I am sure you will find STANAG rounds. They aren't that rare. But if you don't have the ammo, then why carry a gun that has no ammo? Switch it out for an enfield or someting. The enfield has more stopping power.
  6. Fired SD rounds out of an L85 recently, and they do not attract zombies. The range is severely reduced, but they are good anti-zombie rounds. Players still hear them I think. Normal STANAG rounds are better for players because they are more precise. Wish you could, but it is impossible. Only SD rounds.

    Guns

At stary, I recommend you take any automatic gun over something like a winchester or a lee enfield. Guns with good optics like the AKS-74 Kobra, M4A1/3 CCO, DMR are a definite pick up if you don't have anything better. EDIT: Always consider how much ammo you are going to have for the gun before you pick it up. Yeah, it is nice to have a good gun but if you have no ammo for it, it is worthless.
  8. And your inventory items? I have had something like that happen to me once. I was left with absolutely nothing when I logged into a server.
  9. I have some trigger happy friends, but I tend not to shoot on sight. Maybe if they are close, because I don't like to be shot at first. Sometimes if they are in range, look like they might have good loot and are alone, I might try to pick them off, but most of the time that never occurrs. I feel bad for killing unarmed people, or shooting people in the back when they clearly don't see me. I remember I killed somone who was headed directly toward my group, and I couldn't tell if he was armed, so I shot. He was unarmed. Feels bad man.
  10. Thermals arent that great. Yeah, you can easily spot and shoot players with them but the guns only use 5.56 rounds and are horrible indoors. Yeah, it is easier with servers with the crosshair enabled, but I prefer playing on more realistic servers. In the end, I think the thermal should be kept. NVG's on the other hand seem to give a bigger advantage as a spotter because you can be on the move and spot around you. Thermals/NV with scopes can only be used when stationary.
  11. Be more cautous. Don't say friendly where you can be shot. Wait for a response. If no response, assume they're hostile. Assume they're hostile even if they respond friendly. Let them come to you, not you come to them. You will have the edge that way. You should have waited for them to come out into the hall. That way they get their loot and they are happy, and you have the tactical advantage. Shot someone like you because they ran out of the bushes toward my group, within a few feet. I didn't hear him yell friendly (my brother said he did a split second after he appeared) over the shitty speakers at my friend's house and my brother speaking through Steam voice chat. Scared the living hell out of me. I feel bad for it now, but it is a lesson on how you should approach other survivors.
  12. Yeah, but try doing that on flat ground. I drove over some rail road tracks, jumped 20 feet in the air (directly up) and landed sideways. That is a lost cause.
  13. NVG's, Coyote backpack, pipe bomb. I found statchel charges once. Yes, they are legit.
  14. Came across 2 L85A2 AWS's and an M249 SAW in the barracks. What is interesting is that I saw two players leave before me, one with a Ghille and the other just a normal survivor outfit. They probably got out with even better equipment. I was glad I didnt confront them, or I would have gotten owned. When I got in there were no NVGs, rangefinder, etc. You think someone spawned that stuff in the barracks? I think so. I don't think those guys were nice enough to leave me such good guns. Question is... what did they have/get to pass up an L85A2 AWS or an M249 SAW!?
  15. I had 3 mags once I found in an ammo crate in a barracks (came with 10) but I dropped them in favor of ammo for my own gun. My advice, move from server to server checking the barracks and crash sites for sniper rifle ammo crates. I would have liked some NVG's, but with that said, I no longer have the SVD ammo. EDIT: My friend has one mag, but I dont think it alone is worth some NVGs.
  16. NVG's are always taken (you will need to arrive when loot has been cycled to even have a chance) and thermal scopes you only find in crash sites. I have found only 1 NVG and 3 L85A2 AWS in my many hours of playing. I say don't take them out. The idea about batteries is good though.
  17. I had a FN FAL ANPV S4 that I would have traded because I had found some better things.
  18. I had something like this happen the backwards way around the other day. I was over at a friends house, playing DayZ with my friend and my brother who lives in another state. I was on shitty speakers and my brother and I were talking, so I couldn't hear some things. While we were near a crash site near Stary Sobor, we were sitting by a deer stand within visible range, just trying to sort out our equipment. Suddenly, without warning, sombody comes out of the bushes rushing toward us with an AK-74 Kobra. I panicked, having heard or seen nothing, I thought we were in deep shit. I fired some shots and he shot my brother a few times, but in the end we killed him. Only later, my brother told me that he heard the guy yell "friendly?" a split second before he rushed out of the bushes. I didn't hear it, therefore I killed a friendly survivor (although he was a bandit) unintentionally. Whoever I killed, sorry man!
  19. Hey that happens. The bizon sd is nothing to cry over, I am sure you'll find something better in no time.
  20. Shot an unarmed man once. We were walking in the middle of a field north of Green Mountain (stupid right?) when we spotted him. Prone, we continued to watch him because we couldn't get up to reveal our position. He was running right toward us. At our distance, I couldn't tell if he was armed with a pistol or not, but he seemed compeltely ignorant to our presence. Eventually he got too close (100ish meters) and I sprayed him a little bit with my m249 and he went down. I realized he was unarmed when we checked his body. I felt bad. If I had known that he was unarmed, I would have let him go.
  21. Still going strong, but I see that you are more of a bandit than I 9 murders 1 bandits kiled 226 zombies Dont remember headshots. My policy is that if I see someone who has good stuff, or is heading towards me, I shoot. I let the people who aren't worth it go on their merry way.
  22. Have a m249. Great gun, got lots of kills with it. However, I am looking to recover another gun that I had hardly used and lost it when I died (and in retrospect, should have used more): the Mk 48 Mod 0. Anyways, the Lee Enfield is a good starter gun I think. Has decent range, and great stopping power. However, in my experience it doesnt do well against automatic weapons (or weapons with a higher rate of fire). Had people fire at me with the enfield, miss, and I fire a few shots into them (m14 AIM for example) before they can even get the next shot off. I suppose it is good for ambushing someone if they are alone and don't see you, but you can't afford to miss. Guns without decent sights like AK's, M4's, M16's are difficult to use at long ranges if you are playing on a server that doesnt allow the crosshair. And in the end, all guns like that and the enfield cannot go toe to toe with a decent sniper rifle. They just dont have the handling and the range. I drop the Enfield when I find a decent automatic gun with enough rounds to go with it.
  23. Asked the questions that were most important: bandits, hackers, dc'ing. Some of the answers made it seem like however, that he doesn't quite have a soltuion yet for the very important things that are serious issues now.
  24. Re-adding the bandit skins and humanity counter back will reduce the number of player kills significantly. It still will be PvP but with less killing becaise people will want to stay as survivors. People already noted the number of murders went up when bandit skins where taken off. Find a way to reimplement them, they don't have to be the same, but I think having bandits and survivors will significantly reduce the number of kills and perhaps improve the overall experience.
  25. Nope. Dont switch weapons while you are being chased unless you want to take that risk.
