Firstly, sorry if these have been answered elsewhere but I checked a couple of the stickies as well as a quick Google, but to no avail. I'm having some problems with DayZ. Are you meant to spawn with a weapon? A lot of videos I've seen spawn players with a pistol, guessing updates may have removed this but seems impossible to get anywhere near a town without attracting some kind of attention. Backpack, my backpack has disapeared twice. Once while swimming, the other time I'm not sure I just noticed it was gone. Includes all items etc "G" does nothing and it wasn't anywhere nearby. Is this something I'm doing or a bug? Lastly, how do you change your username? I'm sure I'll come up with more but these are hindering my play at the moment, any help would be greatly appreciated. Is your outlook on reality as doomed as it is in DayZ? The world is not full of monsters! :D

I just don't get the appeal of killing people on sight. What's the point? You camp in a building for 2 hours hoping to find someone then one-shot them before they're aware of anything? Seems like an activity for people that fail at COD games and want easy kills :D

With such great voice comms in-game, RP servers are much needed :D

One more quick question, how to commit suicide? I'm stuck in a hospital behind glass and have no way to break it :s lol

As a new player, I was expecting more interaction before being shot. As an example, I had a fire-axe and a few other tidbits, nothing really valuable. I was running around and was hiding upstairs in a house when I noticed a guy below, I used VOIP to let him know I wasn't a threat but then got out of sight. We ended up chatting and agreeing to searching for car parts. We continued to search around, but think there was sync issues as he was just running into a wall for me. I continued on alone and was instantly killed from an unknown source. Having received no damage previously, I can only assume it was a player. Why would you kill an obvious newbie with nothing but an axe? Personally, I would have robbed me and left me to the zombies. Overall, if people just want to kill others on sight, there's plenty of games for it. I think most people that picked up DayZ were hoping for a bit more interactive and involvement if you like, not far off an RP standard. Just my 2 cents :D

Thanks for all the information guys. I tried swimming again today, didn't lose a thing. Guess there's a random mechanic involved. Got all the info I need to survive now :D If only I can get into a server that doesn't get stuck on loading for 20 minutes >.< Thanks again
