Hey Guys, Am aware there's quite a few of these around but when searching as a new player myself, I found a few key questions left unanswered in lot of the videos I watched especially on escaping zombies (which I think the two techniques I found/learned are great for :D), that and many of the outdated ones assume you start with a weapon. The below video includes the following tips: Basic Controls UI Introduction (food, water, blood, sight, noise etc) How to equip and use a hatchet The inventory system and backpacks explained 2 Methods on escaping zombies unarmed Keep your distance when opening doors Any feedback, positive or negative is always welcomed :D Thanks.

Does anyone else think the current item spawning system is a bit stupid? I constantly see bandits scream about realism as their excuse for KoS, but is it realistic to hop to another dimension (server) grab gear and repeat? After all the talk of the NW airfield, I checked it out and people were CONSTANTLY spawning in a leaving. I sat a good distance away to avoid detection but it was quite obvious, check a few things, log out. I personally feel, game mechanic wise, that this is the biggest problem with DayZ. Why couldn't they use a more imaginative spawning system? Is it due to ARMA or the mod?

I honestly have no idea how people can defend KoS so blindly. There are DOZENS of FPS games where you can shoot everyone at will, whenever you want. DayZ was not designed to be a frag game, so why bother doing it every time? You get a few people snipe a newbie, that newbie then becomes anti-community, resorting to the same tactics as the idiots before. I love DayZ, it's a genuinely great idea but like the OP, I feel the player base ruins it. What really confuses me is the lack of server ideas. Why are there no servers catered towards more light RP? Or servers that actually host regular admins? SAMP is another great mod that comes to mind, another ruined by the playerbase. But find the right server, with the right admins and rules, and it was a blast. Why can't that be done here? TLDR: Want to KoS? Go play one of the other hundred MMOFPS titles.

Well it finally happened. Was hiding out in a Fire Station when I noticed zombies chasing this guy across the road, noticing the AK on his back I assumed he was out of ammo or didn't want to attract more zombies. So being the retard that I am, I let off a few shots killing two of the 3 chasing him. He disappeared behind a wall below me and let off a shot. Assuming all the zombies were dead I run down to the bottom floor and put down some barbed wire. Waited about 3-4 minutes as I knew he hadn't left he area and surely enough, he comes into the fire station shooting before he can even see me fully. Needless to say, he was greeted by half a mag of my AK and promptly laid to rest. Before he logged he let out the faint cries of a COD whiner "Omg camper". +1 for the survivors! :D

I don't think that's entirely right. There's not 100s of spawns down the cost. I've been playing for a week, died dozens of times and have only seen 4 different spawn points.

Tried. We all met up, but to get to them I had to swim. Jumping off the pier into the very deep water I sink like a rock, collapse and bleed out. Managed to swim to the other side, bandaged with 500 blood left. 25 minutes crawling to the hospital to die..lol Now have to find them again, it's a pain :D

Hey guys, Is there an easy way to find friends in-game? None of us really know the ARMA map all too well and looking at the ones online don't really help. Is there a group feature or something similar? Thanks.

I may have missed a feature but it's a real pain to join the same server as friends. Would be nice if you could implement a feature to streamline it a bit more :D

As far as I know, it's a hack. I had this happen to me literally 20 minutes ago. I was then teleported to a roof and killed :D Managed to catch it as well as I was doing a review at the time. Something like this?
