There are non hive servers that make you pick your gender again when you log in. I've seen those. This issue, that we're talking about, is something completely different. I'm sure it's a bug of some sort.

My first life was a joke... I spawned in Cherno, didn't realize I was running, immediately got eaten by the infected. I died a lot until I got the hang of things...

I had this happen too. I was all the way up at the NE airfield when a friend logged into the game. He couldn't get into my server, so I left and joined the server he was on. Only I spawned on the SW coast. I still had all my gear and stuff. I thought maybe it was a bug, so I tried joining the server I was originally on, and nope. I was on the coast yet. It was really odd. So I just began the long run back to my friend.

I hope you're a bad troll as well. L2read. Let me break it down for you. The vehicles are "returning" to their spawn points, not where the drivers left them.

Finally! This ended up working for me. I still did have a bit of artifacting every now and then, but it was so minimal, and only happened once or twice in Stary Sobor. Nice find! You have my :beans: good sir!

Welcome to DayZ! It takes some getting used to at first, but stick with it. You'll figure it out soon enough. Might I suggest spending some time on youtube looking at some tutorials. They really do help. Don't worry, guns were nerfed with a recent ARMA2 patch, and stupid shit happens all the time with the random breaking of bones and shit. It is, after all, in an alpha state.

While we are at it OP, why don't we just add in a LFG finder, then I can flag that I'm looking for a group for survivor or for banditry. This way I don't need to talk to anyone at all. I can just randomly join groups without speaking one word. You kinda remind me of the the whiners who refuse to try and group up in WoW. They need their hand held for everything. Honestly, the entire mood in this game, gets more intense when you don't know if you can trust the person you are approaching. I think that's a good thing. I think the last time I had an actual tense reaction from a game was F.E.A.R. That damn little girl and her creepy ass crab walk in the vent... I applaud that you're trying to make suggestions instead of just spamming ridiculous crap like some people here, I just, personally, think this is not needed in game.

Who do you think tests this shit? The alpha/beta testers test these things. That's what we're doing... Unreal, it's almost like you have no concept that this is in an alpha state.

Honestly I can't say that it was right or wrong. That's for you to decide. Remember there are no rules in this sandbox. I mean, if these are people you know in real life, you're running a huge risk of losing out on gaming with him down the road if he finds out, unless he agree's with what you did and understands it.

I agree with you, I think there should be a way to shove in this game. Granted right now, the way the infected do a Benny Hill style super speed run towards you, it wouldn't be useful. If that's ever fixed, then it might come in handy. of course, then I'd like to see shit loads more of the infected in some areas.

Funny, I didn't get the game because of the PvP. I got it because a friend of mine said he heard good things about the mod and it being a sandbox style of game. Had it not been for a friend trying it out, I wouldn't have even bothered. In fact, I almost didn't, because I looked at some videos and went..."Who the fuck wants to play "super extreme crawling simulator 2012" Yeah, that looks like a fucking fun time...crawling into a town and taking 1 hour to loot shit." But being 30.00 I gave it a shot and so far we're having a blast. But it's not just because of the PvP... If New players try it and don't like it, I'm not really sure they are the kind of people you want in this game to begin with.

They are rare, but they exist. I once had someone give me their shotgun in Elektro. Pretty ballsy these days. I was grateful and dropped some medical supplies for his trouble.

Awesome! People out there using their imaginations and having fun in the sandbox. I love seeing/hearing about this. I've already seen some pretty creative videos of what people have done with less traveled areas up north.

Where the hell in my post did I mention the word "great"? L2Read. I simply pointed out that they are not, in fact, completely useless. And another thing, there isn't one spot in the OP that even comes close to talking about having an AK and fantastic loot. Of course these towns are not worth it if you have the military grade stuff. But for those people that are making their way around the map, they are fine.

What if I don't spawn here? Then what? I rarely spawn at these locations anymore. The majority of the time I spawn east of Elektro.
