Hello DAYZ people! We have a new server and we are looking for people / clans / groups to join and hopefully become resident. **The server is currently on the Taviana (v1.7.4.4) map with a LOT of vehicles, including working fuel trucks, multiple helicopters (inc Littlebird) and Humvees etc. As soon as we can, we will upgrade the map to v2.0 of Taviana to make use of the new vehicles and game mechanics** A Bit About Us Our clan is called Team Blindside and we include members from the US, Canada, UK and Norway. We are friendly but we like pvp in DayZ!. We came from Battlefield 3 originally. We have tried WarZ, but we all agree it's a pile of crap :) We will give you a period of at least 48hrs to get set up with supplies, guns and any vehicles you may find after you first join. Our Teamspeak Is on ip 63.143.52.202:10006 We encourage you to come and say hi to us! :) Also, feel free to use our TS server while you play in our DayZ server. We're using HFB, and as far as I know (I dont have access to the client portal myself), they dont yet have the version 2.0 ready :( I'll ask one of the admins next time theyre online. -

Ok, so the standalone is coming. We know this. Hopefully in time for Christmas. For those of us who will (also) be continuing with the current "alpha" mod, what are your suggestions? It seems that since active development stopped for DayZ mod, that hackers/scripters have exploded onto the scene in the last few weeks. I seem to remember somewhere that Rocket said development and support would continue for the "mod" while the commercial product was built. Now I understand that, as a business, the money making product must come first, however, if a pledge is made, it should be honoured. Is there a separate dev team for the mod now? Are the resources shared? Does nobody care? A great deal of us out there bought Arma 2 Combined Ops just to play DayZ, and while I have no problems with this, nor regret this in any way, I feel that there should still be some official input into the mod, even if just addressing the unauthorised scripters. The big question is, within reason...taking into account the team are putting their resources into the full game......what would you like them to implement right now into the mod? Think realistically. -

Yeah, I know *you* arent personally doing this :D As for the code lockdown....I kinda took this for granted. I was just curious as to the specifics of what has been acknowledged to be a problem, and what approach is being taken to resolving it. -
I personally think mags should be much more versatile. For example.... SD STANAG and normal. They should be the same. Ie, get rid of "SD" stanag. In real life, its the same bloody calibre rounds, the clips are interchangeable...HELL, thats why STANAG came about in the first place. **Did you know, you can use PDW mags with the MP5?**

Ive been playing on both private and public servers recently. You may know both Survive DayZ and Survival Ops (DevilDogGamer's server). Hell, we even used to have our own public, then private hive server until a few weeks ago. My experience is, that in the last week or so, pretty much every server I have joined has had either a VERY suspect player(s) or a confirmed scripter. Now unlike others, i dont say this lightly, I really mean it. I just wish I could back that statement up with some form of evidence or stats. Im not gonna bore you with examples of what the hackers do, as Im sure youre aware. But in the last 2 days, myself and my clan mates have been killed or dicked around with by scripters several times on multiple servers. It has definitely gotten worse to the point where I can sit back and think.."crap, this is a problem". I can excuse a lack of content if there were more activity regarding this problem. However, I am fully aware that Arma2 was built on the groundwork of modding. So yeah, its a viscous circle. Can you perhaps shed some light on what changes you are making to scripting for the standalone, given that the game engine is a variant of the current one? :) -

Not sure about what precisely you want to achieve. However, under DayZ Commander settings, there is a "launch using steam" option. Have you tried this? -

V 1.06 mini review Server stability I am frequently (6+ times now) being kicked for some Battleye vehicle restriction #1 or #2 thing Zombies No apparent change Loot Still problems with Supermarkets. Zelen, Pustoshka and Vybor all being pretty much empty apart from the occasional tent or crap Skins Far too many biker skins in industrial buildings. I often came across 2 at a time and on one occasion, there were 3 biker skins in one hut Surprises Loot stashed in a damaged vehicle was not saved due to overwhelming zombies around it ( I had to run). The server went down and when back up, my gear was still in it :) -

Industrial loot seems to spawn fine. Supermarkets and Firestations however were where I came across long waits for loot. On one occasion, I went into the Cherno supermarket and it was 100% empty apart from a dead player body in the back, which I did not hide. I left and spent the next 5 minutes checking the industrial sector before returning and when I did, the only item in the supermarket was a tent. This leads me to believe that nobody had visited it apart from me, because tents are sought after. Again, with the Cherno firestation during the same visit, the tower was empty and there was basically only crap on the ground floor. The 2 occasions I made it to Zelen, the supermarket there had spawned, but was relatively empty. -

I've played on this mod/server for most of today and I'll offer my initial review based on what I have seen, and the players I have encountered (in game player name - Flangehammer): The Mod Installation Compared to other similar mods on private hives, Survive DayZ is very easy to install. Note to other devs..include a premade shortcut file. It makes life SO much easier than fiddling around with the Arma II launcher etc Server access I had to use remote connection via the server IP address, but other than that, I had no problems accessing the server or getting into the actual game Server stability and lag I did encounter a fair amount of desync and perhaps some lag, but not to the levels that I would say detracted from playability. Zombies Im loving the increased amount of zombie spawns. This has put back the "fear" of entering towns, even at night. Although I class myself as a DayZ veteran, I find myself once again crawling a lot. It's a refreshing change, however if you're used to running everywhere and dodging zombies, you may initially find this tedious. It's still fun though :) Night time gameplay The lack of NV and NV weapons (and thermal) means everyone is on a level peg. This is great. Now I can be confident that if I cant even see myself, then Im pretty much hidden. The limited street lighting and ambient building lights mean I can either use it to see more, or risk being seen. Its an extra tactical choice to make. Weapons Removing the L85, M107 and AS50 might make some people rage, but I think this was a good move. Ghillie suits now actually have worth, and your vehicle at least stands a fighting chance of making that all important escape. Loot This is my only major concern at this stage, I have heard people on the server complain that places are frequently bare, and indeed, I have also had this experience. It seems to be pretty random atm. However, I think the devs need to look into this and make the respawn times more consistent. New players joining will probably quit if they spend 10 - 20 minutes going through Cherno or Elektro and finding pretty much nothing. Additional Player skins Just yes :) Server admins / devs / home players. Everyone I have spoken to in game that is involved in making or upkeeping this mod has been great. They all play fair, actively manage the server and take the time to talk to you if you have a question. There are probably quite a few things I havent tried out yet, and the planned future content if done well, could make this an awesome mod-of-a-mod. Overall verdict: 8/10 -

Can someone please post a link to the alternative hotfix.rar from the Survival Ops website? I cant find it and although I have the mod running, I cant find the server with the hotfix listed by the OP -

Hello DayZ chaps and chappettes! Do a search for Team Blindside in your DayZ Commander or Six Launcher and come join us! Please note this a private hive server, so you will start with nothing and you will not be able to carry any gear over to other servers. Your public hive character will remain saved. Regards!
