Well I was in a situation where I was in a state of shock, almost got hit and just didn't know what to do. We found a truck me and my two friends few days ago, we all had Ghillies and the truck had some good gear, mostly unique flare grenades used from a grenade launcher, some frags and smokes but that was it, well we were patrolling the area, I was putting every car part into it so we had everything needed to build a second one in case it would blow up, a tyre would be bust etc. So we went to investigate another helicopter crash after we found two, which had Bizons and FAL's, not best but good, the FAL is great and I use it till now. So we hear a chopper and decide to take the dirt roads, we hear it getting off into the distance and suddenly it gets louder and louder, we just continued driving south from Gorka nad we found this little quarry place, I and my friend went out as always to scavenge, the driver tried to park it somewhere under a roof thing and suddenly the chopper flew really close to us but it didn't see us, just continued towards the shore. We were very happy so the driver comes out, starts going towards us and SWOSH an M107 round gets him in the chest, dead. Skype call gets into 3 people chaos, from silent to ultra panic shouting, we don't know what to do, the chopper gets loud again and my friend can see it so he starts running around the unfinished building and SWOSH gets headshoted, I am left there with a helicopter that keeps roaming around and disappearing a lethal sniper and a truck full of goods. I am shouting - "WHAT TO DO, I CAN HIDE, SEE WHERE ARE THE SHOTS COMING FROM OR ABORT" I was so afraid, didn't have an idea what to do, I was in loads of sniper pin downs and gun battles and I don't know why I thought of aborting. My friends started shouting - "No! We will lose the truck, we will have to start from scratch, go for the truck!" in meantime the chopper went again, the sniper still knew I was there and he was about 400m away from the building in his ghillie in the trees and I decide to run out into the truck. I run through an opening to the stairs and I feel like in that scene of Enemy At Gates where Vasilli (Jude Law) jumps behind his friend and his friend gets shot which stops the bullet from hitting Vasilli. As I'm next to the truck my friend says - "I forgot to add, I jammed it in case a situation like that would happen!". I dodge about 3 rounds somehow and I get in the truck and it's stuck, I can't do anything, I start reversing and going forward, nothing is happening, suddenly the window can't take it anymore and it bursts. My heart is beating like mental, I know I'm gonna lose everything, my squad will be disappointed and that I will lose the Ghillie, a precious piece of clothing for me. Suddenly as I hear the gunshot the truck MOVES and I'm on the go, It hit the truck and somehow it didn't blew up. I hit the gate, it destroys it and I'm going forward with a gate stuck on my front, I leave and I meet my colleagues on the outskirts of Elektro, a day worth living for ;) So remember, NEVER ABORT, IT SPOILS YOURS AND OTHERS GAME.

I have the exact same problem, made my stop playing this mod for a while, it's such a bloody hack heaven for the hackers, if not getting killed by a mass server execution or bunny slaughter by a shotgun it's this... Bloody teleportation that made me lose my Ghillie and an AS50, NVGs and all the top tier gear that I got LEGALLY, it's getting to a point that I could pay 100$ for the standalone version just so it could be playable...

Are you sure you aren't playing on Expert (or Veteran). I know some servers have the map Off but there is definitely a difficulty that removes you from the map forcing you to know your ways by looking at the terrain.

Me and my two friends were killed by a sniper firing a fully automatic AS50 (quite an unusual thing...) while his friend was roaming around in a chopper giving away everyones positions, he basically had something like an aimbot or a wallhack and while we were in the tall grass prone in the middle of a forest we noticed the chopper was dissappearing (it said "xxx disconected" since this server had some kind of mod saying it) and everytime he would come back he would respawn flying the chopper (did this like 3 times in 10 minutes) so it would be really nice if I could ask for an M4A1 CCO SD since I'm now left with nothing and I don't want to be a greedy sucker, I know this feeling because this is the second time it happened to me, although this was quite more epic because there was a huge fire in Elektro right after (dropped somekind of bombs from the chopper), my friend lost an AS50 and a rage finder found in a chopper crash site and the third friend, spotter an FN FAL, and a GPS, I know I'm asking for a lot but I don't want to be greedy like I said before and I just want to have some gear back if it's possible, I would be very thankful. Server DE 1303, wouldn't advise ANYONE going there since it seems it turned into a Hack Palladium.

So basically me and my friends had a week long characters and we went on one night server to go to Elektro for some bus supplies and as we were going on my friend got sniped from that big hill between Elektro - Cherno because we wanted to check the light house for any bicycles or bodies. Me and my other alive friend quickly looted his most important gear and went in the lighthouse and suddenly BOOM, the whole server dies including the sniper etc. It was a shock but I guessed it had to happen to me eventually, the hacker just killed the whole server, lucky me and my friends we all spawned near Elektro and could run up to the place so we resupplied with our gear and we went up that hill to check where was the sniper, suddenly I hear flies and we run up to the body, what I see in his body was: AS50, Rangefinders, Nightvision, The kit for putting up barbed wire etc, Coyote Backpack and basically all of the gear that you would expect on a Ghillie Suit sniper, however... There were two Soldier uniforms, like not the Jungle - Forest camo one or Ghillie, there was a normal Marine uniform so I took one, took the his backpack since it was bigger and by mistake worn the clothing making it dissappear, so I was left with only one Army outfit and a Coyote backpack which transformed into a patrol pack full of beans o.O But basically after we logged out, two-three hours have passed and me and my friends realised that the outfit has to be hacked since it's not in the game, checked the wiki even though I was sure there are only three types of clothing and I threw it out since I read some posts on the forum where people had like British and Scottish camo's and they dropped them because Battleye can ban the player. So here I am DayZ community and let's hope the Team, could you please tell me was it a good move to abandon a God Like uniform and continue on with my adventure without it? Btw. We took all of his stuff since it's in the game and I don't think you can get banned for taking someones gear since maybe it wasn't hacked? I don't know please respond, Thank you.

Shit, I just didn't want to be involved in any hacked item stuff just in case I would get banned by Battleye, oh well I just learnt a lesson.

Uh, I am 17 but it's always worth a try with these groups, specially when they are European, I have been playing this mod for a month now and know every thing a player like me should, I am half Polish half English and I understand every British and Slavic accent (That includes Poland, Belarus, Russia and all these countries next to each othere) I live in Poland so ping or lags wouldn't be a problem, I know you are asking for 30+ but it would be a very nice opportunity to join someone who won't quit on me after a week. I have loads of food and water also a lot of ammo and guns to spare, hope to hear back from you!

I had that new character and I went to cherno on an 10/40 player server and I already had a Czech bag, an enfield, revolver and lots of food and I was on top of the School kind of thing and suddenly I could hear steps so I climbed up to the top of the tower and didn't stick out because the shade would show movement and I waited and suddenly my prey came out with an enfield looking around very silently and I started shooting my Enfield making him faint and as he did I pulled out my revolver in panic and killed him, looted some basic food and drinks but zombies were running in so I ran out heading towards the market and I started losing a lot of blood and noticed the glass was breaking and could hear gunshots, there was his friend with a revolver shooting at me so I ran in and was hiding behind the counter as he was in the magazine room and I had 3 rounds left and he was empty, we were playing a cat and mouse game as I threw a flare in so the zombies would rush in, so they did but he must have ran out because I could hear the zeds beating outside so I run into the magazine and he was there with a hatchet in his hand and he finished me off by making me faint and killing me, son of a bitch :/ I must add the guy on the top of the School was my first real murder, no assist just a pure murder and I did only for my safety since he was sneaking up on me with his gun ready to fire. What an adrenaline rush, completly different than playing with a pack of four or five friends all on Teamspeak or skype, damn o;

Miracle 29/07/2012, Gvozdno Today I was ready to die at the NW Airfield, I found an M16 with a grenade launcher which made me go for it, I had less than half of the blood in my body, kept falling over and almost dying, I needed food and water, I accepted death so I went to the top of the radio tower in which I was fighting of hordes of zombies, I hardly climbed the top of the it and got out some flares and smoke grenades. I thought if I'm gonna die, I want to die like a hero so I threw out everything that could lure zombies, there were about thirty of them, all yelling and running into the smoke, I had three clips left, I sat down on one leg so I wouldn't lose even more blood and energy and then... I opened fire. Music was playing in my head, I felt the end, wounds were bleeding throught the bandages as I was firing the rifle. The magazine had its last 20 rounds, shot five, killed three zombies, I decided to go down to meet them personally. As I came down my eyes spotted a can of beans, not much but at least I wouldn't die starving, so I ate it, started walking down, gave out two rounds into a chest of a military zombie. I ran out of the doors limping, almost falling over but I kept thinking of surviving while firing three rounds, I was in a situation where I was exiting and entering any buildings to lose these murderers, as I entered one of the shacks what I saw gave me the faith to survive... An M9 SD, I didn't care about the fact it didn't have any ammo, my heart told me I need to fight to survive... So I run out of the airfield, lucky to be alive since there were no people around, from what I heard when I met up with a villager before the outbreak, there were around sixty people left, we all know that 225 square kilometers is a big land but people would always go to the big places to scavenge... As I was in the middle of an empty forest, my stomoach needed food, I had nothing left on me, having only 10 rounds in a heavy rifle was tiring, I had to make the fire lighting a torn up map which was the only dry thing on the island, I was cold, had lost probably sixty percent of my blood by getting away from the Zombies in a hurry... I made a stop, lit up the map which I didn't need anymore because I was headed for what was called the Devil's Castle, I had a compass and remembered most of the map in my head. As I lit up the fire to gain some temperature and rest I started looking for animals, there was nothing... The forest was dead, not a single rabbit or a bird. It seemed to me like the outbreak killed most of the animal kingdom in Chernarus, I was in a situation where I was hungry and tired but close to the destination where I had the last chance of getting some food. I put out the fire after boiling the rain drop water that I collected from a big puddle that was forming into a pond. It was clear and tasty, at least I wasn't losing fluid and it was a temporary hunger fill. After an hour of a very tiring journey from the fire place I reached what looked like a Medieval castle, it was the Devil's Castle itself... I saw about eight zombies, sneaked through the ruins trying not to make a single sound but I stepped on a lot of cracked stones... I was almost on the staircase of the big tower but I saw the Beast... It looked straight into my eyes, I could hear him breathing, I knew I couldn't shoot or I would be dead from all of the Zombies, so I ran with the energy I had left, up two levels of stairs which were very slippery from the rain, and grabbed a bottle with a label saying "Jack Daniels", since there were no safety ropes on the stairs, I swung my arm with the bottle in my hand and smashed it on the zombie's head, the impact caused it to break into pieces and the blood thirsty creature dropped two stories onto a sharp rock dying as it hit it. I searched the whole tower, there was nothing. The rain got stronger and it seemed there was a storm forming, I had to get out, I was feeling so hungry that I thought my stomoach started eating the excess fat in my body, I was getting into a state of shock and madness, I started going down the stairs silently and I made my way behind the second tower which was inaccessible due to fallen rocks in the doorway. I spotted one out of two staircases that led to the wall of the castle, I was getting paranoid, could hardly hear anything and kept watching out for Zombies and Bandits. I found empty cans and bottles, I walked next to them without interest because I knew they were empty, as I started following the route on the wall I realised I was getting too close to the zombies on the ground so I started going back, now feeling like I was about to faint, as I was going down the stairs I realised one of the cans that I walked by before had a label, I came closer to it and saw "Canned Pasta", I took out my Hunting Knife and stabbed the can. When I opened the can I felt joy, getting closer to the finish line, I felt like I would be rescued, the feeling wasn't normal, it was something out of this world. I needed to sleep since I couldn't continue, before I would leave the Castle. I knew I would faint, so I went back onto the walls but now went in a different direction, I realised there was an opening in the wall and it seemed it would fit me perfectly, I leaned down and crawled into it, there were some stones, I covered the "entry" of the hole with them so I wouldn't feel the wind, cold or rain, and of course, I was covered from the Zombies but I could see everything, but they didn't see me, it wasn't comfortable but I was so exhausted that I fallen asleep before I even realised. I woke up at 6:49AM. The place seemed empty from Zombies but I took the back exit, I was feeling much better but I still needed blood, I was tired but not hungry or thirsty since I kept drinking the water from my canteen and could still feel the pasta I had before I went to sleep. I am currently in a place called Gvozdno and found some smoked meat in what seems to be a local bar, I must get a transfusion, the blood in the meet will help but it will be nothing compared to a transfusion, maybe today will be a good day. PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK, FIRST STORY, DON'T KNOW IF IT'S GOOD ENOUGH!

Well I only shoot when I see them being suspicious or pointing / shooting at me and my squad, I always ask through direct chat (micro and chat) if no reaction and I see him sneaking up, pow. Rather than that I just like to sit back in a shade or a bush and study the survivor and his way of doing things, if he shoots every zombie on sight then I shoot him from a distance so he won't be an enemy to me in the future.

Hello, :beans: you may be wondering what kind of message is that? Is he a developer? Will they delete beans from DayZ and the forums? What is that crap? All of the previous answers - No, no and once again no. All I wanted to say is that I have eaten Heinz beans in tomato sauce since I was a baby, beans on their own, beans straight out of the can without warming, beans on toast (personal favorite) beans and sausage, beans and eggs on toast and bacon, beans without tomato sauce with a Sunday roast, beans with grilled minced meat, beans with cotlet. All I want to say that beans are the delicacy of my life, they have been travelers', miners', sheperds' and everybody elses who love them gourmet travel quick food. They are the key in life, I would like to thank the developers for implementing them into the game and the forums and also the community for accepting them and not asking "What are these bloody beans?". I know this post doesn't mean much to you but to me it's a personal thank you to all of you, thanks! Accepting beans if you cried every time ;__;
