    DMR, or M24?

    I don't have enough experience with either weapon in-game but if BI was as serious about ballistics as they said then the M24 should have a bit better range than the DMR. The DMR is gas-operated and doesn't produce as high of a muzzle velocity as a M24 would.

    No more veteran servers

    Namescanning is infinitely worse than being hacked. How often do you get affected by a hacker? Maybe once a week at best. How much good will knowing his name do? None. How often will you get namescanned? Hundreds of times a play session. Obvious troll is obvious.

    Refuse to play anything but expert and veteran. Playing normal = getting name scanned by snipers and bandits. Fuck that. Name tags should be off on all servers. No 3rd person or crosshairs make it a lot harder for cockbiters to just run around and hip fire everyone they see, peeking over walls and scouting an entire area from behind cover.

    beyond .45 caliber weapons, in my experience the m1014 seems to be weakened too. zeds often take 2 slugs to kill now unlike the former patch which was 1 shot all the time every time.

  7. Myself and several other people on the server were killed by a guy who could take no damage and swung an axe at us killing myself, a friend, and other friends halfway across the map. The time myself "Velyse" and "Omega53" died was around 22:40 EST. Omega respawned a good 20 kilometers away and the same guy showed up seconds later to kill him.   9. Radar is absolutely retarded and does not fit in with the mod in any way. It's all too complicated. It requires lots of "checking" and would likely increase load times for everyone. A simple logout delay is really best. Would prevent alt-f4ing and server hopping a bit. A cooldown would get in the way significantly especially if you bounce around to bad servers and 15 seconds sometimes is not enough to decide if you want to stay, especially when you're waiting for friends and the like. One guy loads in and waits for his buddy, then the other guy loads in significantly later and they decide not to stick around and just disconnect. Sorry guys, since you didnt take the time to make a campfire because neither of you had matches or an axe you now need to wait five whole minutes to connect to a new server. Or spend five minutes running out of cherno or whatever populated area you are in to a bunch of trees to wait even longer to logout. Whoops you got cooldown timers twice now it's ten minutes. Crap a server with someone hacking and nuking everyone we better DC before he bombs us too. 20 minutes. Obviously the logout timer would cause issues in this case for every circumstance but punishing people for that is a little stupid. It's a good idea but the login and loading system is currently fucked enough as is to add more mess to it.

    get a sound card that handles directional audio better and/or learn positioning to figure out where the guy is based on where you were standing and where the bullet struck. Also the delay between the time the impact is heard and the report of the rifle can give you a vague sense of distance too.
  13. I have been noticing the loot cleanup is kinda borked. On certain servers you'll notice they play alright at first then gradually the fps drops to the teens for even those with high-end cards and systems. At this point the zombies stop chasing and most of them just sit still. It gets pretty bad.
  14. A couple days ago myself and two friends got a bus up and running. Ended up blowing a tire out in cherno, had an intense gunfight but protected our bus and killed 3 survivors. We repaired it and returned to the road again singing heyeheyeheyehyehyeh whats going on. Upon making it back to cherno again we were ambushed and killed. I respawned several times and made it to prigorodki. My one buddy was in cherno and reported that it was stolen and headed towards elektro. I managed to run out and the guy actually let me in the bus. Dummy. I started singing again and we made it just past elektro when he and a friend got out. I jumped back into the drivers seat and drove off, makarov shots ringing out behind me. Bus? RECOVERED.

    Most Creative Camp Sites

    Favorite thing to do when I find a tent city? Make sure it's safe then take all their items and just dump them on the ground. Last time I did that I got shot on my way out taunting in side-chat and then the server restarted. When the server came back online I rushed back to the tent city to find it entirely gone. Strange but that poor admin was clearly madbro.
  16. The best part about when large groups get helicopters is instead of having 3 man sniping teams covering cherno or elektro or some other area, you have a helicoptor with miniguns mowing down everything they come across bouncing from city to city raining hell down upon chernarus. Oh boy.

    M4A3 CCO Question.

    Keep in mind bullet drop on most rifle rounds is only about 1-4 inches in the first 200 meters. At 300 it gets dicey, like 12 inches. The sighting difference between 0 and 200 meters is incredibly minimal. 300 however... aim a foot low in close quarters.

    I have a suppressor on my USP 45 CT, you can use any ammo you want in it. However "suppressed" ammo is loaded in such a way that muzzle velocity does not exceed the speed of sound. Any 230 grain ammo basically keeps it under that. If you use 190 grain or lighter ammo, the sound signature is much larger. Same deal with rifles. You CAN use unsuppressed ammo but it will be much louder. There are two parts to "suppression". Slowing the gasses down to reduce the "pop" and the second part is slowing the bullet down to eliminate the sonic boom. 1 part is the suppressor itself, the other part is the ammunition. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to use standard ammo in the gun but it should definitely make it much louder.

    And it's sad. I've had some of my best in-game experiences with friendly strangers who i've crossed paths with but I am sick and tired of wasting evenings trying to recreate that experience especially if I've looted even a moderate amount of gear. Running around cherno and elektro like a madman trying to find toolboxes to take down the idiotic barbed wire in the firehouses and office buildings. Only to get mere minutes afterwards by some jackass. The barbed wire spawn time is really getting on my fucking nerves. Placed barbed wire should despawn after an hour or something too. It's gotten ridiculous

    How can you tell if someone is a bandit?

    I have opted for KOS anyone who is armed. I'm done dying for being the noble one who gives the other person the benefit of the doubt. If you have a gun in your hands and we cross paths i'm not going to let you get away without some bloodloss. Interesting solution to banditry I thought of the other day though. No instakills. If you get shot you have 1-1.5 seconds before going unconcious. A chance to return fire. How many bandits do you think would stop killing on sight if they knew they couldn't get away without being harmed?
  24. Expecting a massive influx of players. This is exciting. I'd imagine one of these days it'll go way cheaper than just 20% off and there'll be a huge spike.
