I have yet to get the glitch since I haven't played much since the update. However thank you for posting this and I will attempt your fix when I play today :)

It is a bug with the current beta release of Arma 2. May I suggest searching the forums for other users solutions before posting multiple threads about the same issue.

Also the game stores its plants and buildings in certain files. If you remove them the the engine just doesn't render those objects. A ghetto hack that can be thwarted with a simple check by the server for missing or corrupt files. Thankfully most servers check for this now.

BattleEye will usually will give a reason number "BattleEye Ban Script #55", etc.

This could be exploited to find players, almost like having a radar.

Most servers disable the chat.

There are many hackers for this game, BattleEye isn't that good of an anti-cheat.

Go back and see if that server is part of the hive a.k.a. make sure they aren't saving to a local database. Is so then just kill the new character that you have now and hopefully your old character will load when you respawn. Its a bug that I have run into a couple of times, sometimes I get my character back and other times I'm not so lucky.

Are you logging back into the same server?
