Pro-Tip: In the future you can try DayzCommander (New launcher around town) and also make sure you know what Six Launcher is doing when you hit "Update". If you use the Six Launcher to launch DayZ than you most likely recieved an update today. It may have caused you to experience one of two problems when attempting to join a server: "Wait for Host" or "BattleEye Initialization Failed" Six Launcher pushed the new beta and you have been updated to: Arma2_OA_Beta_95099 ~ Download ~ Changelog I have tested with three people and the following steps seem to resolve the issue. 1. Download the following BEClient.dll which is for versions higher than 94945: http://www.battleye....61/BEClient.dll 2. Copy the BEClient.dll to these two directories: [steam Install 64-Bit Machine] [steam Install 32-Bit Machine] [AppData - You will need to view hidden files and folders] Edit: (Thanks to Jean Jacques Serrault) It seems a similair thread with more information already exist and can be accessed here. My post strictly provides instructions for users who installed Arm2OA through Steam and received an update by Six Launcher to a beta version higher than 94945. Additional information about this error and others can also be found in this thread created by LVG [DayZ Forum Team]: Error Fixes

Kill the new character and see if the other one comes back, that's what I had to do a couple of days ago. -
Less FPS since yesterdays update?
LivingError replied to Hakultair's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
According to the 95099 Change-Log they did edit a few video options. Make sure you check the settings in these two files: ArmA2OA.cfg and UserName.ArmA2OAProfile They should located in the following directory: -
To rule out all errors your best bet would be to uninstall and start from scratch. A lengthy process but can possibly save you hours of trouble shooting. If you do not want to re-install the game and you just want to troubleshoot then let me know. Just be aware that I will not be back online for about 8 hours so hopefully someone else from the forums can step in during my absence.

At this stage, DayZ is not playable.
LivingError replied to ninami's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The game is becoming more popular so naturally the number of cheaters will increase. Hopefully within good time we can find more ways to efficiently report and punish malicious players. -
Try one of these threads: http://dayzmod.com/f...fix-beta-95099/ http://dayzmod.com/f...beta-patch-fix/ http://dayzmod.com/f...24-error-fixes/ Best of luck! Updated DayZ.. Tells me I have old version of DayZ
LivingError replied to alienxxi's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
What version did you update to? Side-Note: If you updated to a version above 94945 make sure you have the correct BattleEye Client DLL's. http://dayzmod.com/f...fix-beta-95099/ -
Disregarding the effectiveness of this detection technique, it would have to be something implemented by BattleEye and not the DayZ Dev Team. I may be wrong but it seems something like this would be outside of the capabilities of what the dev team can do as far as modding goes.

Here is a quote from an old discussion on a common reverse engineering forum(PBSS = PunkBuster ScreenShot):

I posted something relevant up above but it seems to have been passed over :\

Most of the time players just use scripts which normally have no visual element, and what Scene has said is also true. They will just hook the screenshot function and either turn the visuals off during the picture or cause it to return a black screen which happens randomly on certain graphics cards regardless.

So I did today's battleye update, and the beta update... And I Lost My Character...
LivingError replied to crashtheface's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
There is a difference between an intentional alpha testing deletion and a glitch that caused it. All possibilities need to be looked at, finding a possible glitch could help everyone. -
There are "alternative" means to change your playerID but idk if it would be frowned upon here :\
