A friend of mine is attempting to install ARMA2 OA, and keeps hitting a brick wall telling him: "OA cannot be installed because of a Side by Side installation error" (or words to that effect) He has followed the repairs suggested on the MS support site (which involve issues with Nero), but still cant get OA to install. ARMA2 is installed and works fine. Anyone got any suggestions as to what may be the issue? Ive suggested he sticks a new HDD in his machine and does a fresh Windows 7 install, then tried again.....but he isnt listening to me even though he works for me, Ive even threatened to sack him if he doesnt get this resolved!!! Machine Spec: I7 12gb RAM Nvidia 570 1TB HDD (93% full!!) Windows 7 Home Edition.

Anyone able to help me with this one? Im at about 3500 blood and everythings gone fuzzy......I can see the supermarket where Im sure there will be a load of food to get my blood back up a bit, but I darent try and get in there as I cant see the zombies properly to avoid them :( At what point do I stop going dizzy? Ive got pain killers, morphine and blood bags available, just need some help with the blood really? I have rewards available for any assistant ;)

Can anyone tell me the standar fov settings for the arma2 settings file? I rather stupidly didn't back it up before modifying!

Im finding that there are very few European servers that the GMT offset stated in the server title is actually correct. Due to this and the fact that I tend to only get chance to play at night (when the kids are in bed), Im always running around in the dark :(

Was in Cherno last night in the supermarket. Found an Alice pack but Im buggered if I could pick it up......pressing 'G' just brought up the items around it and not the pack itself......scrolling the mouse wheel just gave me the 'Gear' option, not a 'Take pack' option. This happened twice on 2 separate servers..... Am I doing something wrong or is it just a little bug in the game? cheers, Phil.

Im with Mr Null at the moment......only been playing a week, and even for all the frustration of installing, constant (dodgy) patch's and flakey servers, when I actually get into a game.....the time just whizzes past and I cant get enough. My wife and kids seem to have forgotten they have a husband/father!! Got a bit pissed off last night mind you. Got knocked unconcious by a Zed who then fed on me until I recovered and was able to kill him. So now I need blood, managed to find a cow, but I think its one of those plastic ones you see outside the butcher, cos the twatting thing wont die and give me its meat!!! ......and yet I still cant wait to get home tonight, get the kids off to bed, service the wife and then get on my PC!!

I used to use it when I raced GTR online in a league, but never thought of using it for FPS games.....sweet setup btw ;o)

Quick question, Can I carry more than one primary weapon, so for example and AK47 and a Lee Enfield or Winchester etc etc? If so, how? Tar very much.....

Well it worked....Lee Enfield in my pack, AK in my hand (although, I may drop this and switch to the hatchet, as I prefer the silence when doing a Zed!!)

Im in the UK but a complete n00b with only about 3hrs playing time. Wouldnt mind dropping into TS and grouping up a bit....

I had the same problems, and you may not be a stupid as I am, but I found that there was a 700mb patch required for OA BEFORE applying the 94876 Beta patch. Then DL dazupdater from http://www.worrom.com/ and install it into the same directory as ARMAII Add mod=@dayz -nosplash to the target line in your OA shortcut, then run DayZUpdater, update and play the game from there. Worked for me.....

Hopefully not thread-jacking, but in the same vein.... I had my first real session last night. Id swum from one of the islands, so lost my pack and contents, but eventually followed the road (in the tree line) to the barn above the dam at Topolka and found a crossbow and a couple of bolts.....my first weapon!! Got attacked by zeds a bit later near Msta and bled out (no bandages!!) Rejoined in Wasteland, found a map in my first building, then a shotty in the next heading toward Elektro. Got myself into a barn near the power station and found another shotty, killed a few Zeds and am currently sat in there quivering like a girl 'cos I can hear more shots outside! Ive watched Sacriel and Squirrels video's and loads of others and the game seemed a bit lame and boring, but to be honest........ MAN ALIVE!!! ITS BRILLIANT!!!

I must admit Im in a very similar place to Moodrich, in that Id seen some of my BF3 buddy's playing, and thought it looked cool. After seeming to take for ever to get it actually working, I couldnt understand why every server was dark, evern with a -8GMT offset, but once I got going last night for a few hours, I find myself at work today planning what route to take tonight when the kids are in bed to get me some stuff of value and use! Love this game...so far!!

Only just got the game running, so I may be missing something pretty fundamental here. but my mouse wheel doesnt seem to be bound, and I cant find where to bind it? My understanding is that the wheel should open up the menu on the left of the screen, but my mouse wheel doesnt seem to be bound, and I cant find where to bind it in the ARMA options menu? If Im wrong and wheel isnt actually bound to this menu, what is? Ive seen lots of video's of people who have the menu, but I just dont seem to be able to bring it up? Any help would be appreciated.
