You are running an older version of the game. That issue was fixed in version 1.7.1.3 along with some other bugs, and then another even newer version was released which is 1.7.1.4. So go update your files and catch up on the mod to fix that.

How often are your camps raided?

That is too many camps to be found that quickly each time. It is extremely obvious that you have a traitor and you should have seen it as well. If someone was cheating they would spawn the items rather than use it to track you and steal your shit. Not all of those are good locations, but 1-6 hours is way too short of a life for a camp to remain hidden. -

We love to hit up the NW airfield at night. Most players that have been there enough pretty much have the area memorized, so we find our way to the first hangar at either end and prone our way up, using a g17 or remmington flashlight to check the actual loot in each hangar quickly before turning the light back off and continuing in the pitch darkness. -
If it was quiet for a while, then he likely simply logged off outside the building and repositioned himself inside the building behind you at a good angle. He then shot you both before you could react and continued on with his day.

No, you are not. It is quite a common bug that happens to people. If you look around there are lots of people that have the problem, including me. If you were to look at my Steam profile you would notice that I have the game legit, as does my friend who has spawned as a crow many times, and my other friend who has done so once or twice. It is simply an annoying bug that happens once every few weeks. As for it being part of the original game concerning pirated keys, I can't think of a way to express a large enough face palm. Being a crow is the default spectating mode for the game. Go play any normal match, when you die you become a crow. DayZ is bugging out for a moment when you die and instead of respawning just sends you to spectater mode. -

Me and my friends played the game for several weeks before one of them found the first Dew. We all thought he was joking at first, but there it was. I wonder why it was added in as such a rare spawn? I guess for just this reason, as something useless for everyone to collect. As for numbers, I have found exactly 2 mountain Dews in my month and a half of play time. Both of them were on player bodies, supporting that they mark you for death. Strangely enough, both times that I found them I was dieing of thirst or close to it and drank them right away. -

Threads like this would make me want to drop a games development if I was the dev. The update will be out when it is out. The devs work very hard and screw over their sleeping schedules to make sure everything runs as smooth as they can get it and you are making useless threads asking for an "explanation" as to why they are not working harder and faster. If you enjoy the game so much that you want to see an update then stop wasting your time on useless threads and go play, as I am about to after I finish checking the first few threads in each section. As a side note to Legacy, threads cannot be unlocked, and staff cannot post in locked threads without unlocking them on this forum? Weird, I have never seen that before on all of the ones I had moderated or ran. -
The only Ghillie suit I've found' date=' was at a crashed helicopter. [/quote'] I have never seen a crashed heli, or any vehicle except boats and a bike. I do not see crashed helicopters often, but when I do I find a few of em. I have only found them on two servers before and on both of them I ended up finding three crashed helicopters, however neither me nor my friend could loot them in any way no matter how much we searched for the loot spot. As for vehicles, if the server has them (meaning you found boats and bikes) then you just gotta start looking in the right places. So far my group has had and lost or currently has: 4 bicycles, 3 ATVs, 1 motorcycle, 1 white off road truck, 1 off road military, 2 jeeps, 3 cars, 2 helicopters and 5 boats. Look inside large warehouses, in alleys, around shacks out in the middle of the woods with civilization a fifteen minute walk away, in clearings, under bridges, in the ship wreck, partially submerged in ponds/lakes, at the ends of dead end roads, and all of the places that make you think "Damnit, this is gonna be a bitch to fix" due to the location. Once you find one just stock it with parts and cruise for more.

I am not yet sure if it is dependent on the server settings or the GPS since I have not tested it much yet, but when playing on beta servers with my GPS I can see myself on the in game map as a blue circle which updates constantly of course. If you get into vehicles the circle takes the shape of the vehicle. Hopefully that is the GPS and not server settings. I will be doing testing with it tomorrow to be sure which it is.

You can use SD rounds in non SD weapons, but SD weapons require SD rounds. Kind of annoying since I had to drop my M4A1 CCO SD due to lack of SD stanag, but oh well.

The big thing with this game, meaning Arma 2 itself, is that it is meant to be a military simulator. As a mod for the game, DayZ is trying to become a zombie apocalypse simulator. The graphics quality, at least to me, plays a decently high role in keeping the game immersion level up. If I cannot feel like I am IN the game after playing for a few hours in the dark concentrating on it, then it is not a proper simulator. That can happen with lower quality games as well depending on how fun they are, but not if it becomes too low. A large part of how I judge games is how easily I can become focused on nothing else and essentially become my character. So as for how low I would let them go, I would have to say a decent bit better than GTA San Andreas. Much worse than now, but not quite too terrible I don't think if the game could then hold hundreds or thousands of players with a large world and fully enter able buildings and such. This topic is kind of moot however, since Arma 3 will allow much of this. If I remember correctly, it was said that servers could host 200 players easily, so we may very well see 3, 4, 500 player servers. Every single building in the game will be part of the open world in Arma 3 as well with better AI of course and general better everything. -
I log in with a coma every time on all servers

Every single server that I log into I am in a coma. Originally I was sitting in the woods with my friends at a campfire. We decided to log off and did so without shooting, being shot, hearing shots, or being hurt at all. When I logged back into another server I fell over in the anti pvp 5 minute or so coma. I waited it out because of course there are bugs. I continued, had to leave, and when I logged back in on another server I was in a coma again. Tried another server. Coma. I always log in with a 5 minute coma now and it will get me killed at some point. Does anyone have a solution other than killing myself and seeing if that fixes it? This is really ruining the ammo. -
I love walking into a building hoping to find a winchester or a revolver when I start, and see someone in mid loot. You don't even have to sneak, just run up and shoot them in the head. Got lucky yesterday as I ran from like 40 zombies into one of those corner stores in Cherno. Ran upstairs hoping for something to fend them off so I didn't need to shoot them all with a makarov and found a guy looting. Shot him for his winchester with ammo, revolver with ammo, alice pack with an m1911 and ammo as backup, and all the basic supplies you need. Easily fended off the zombies and moved north =D.

I agree a lot. If you saw my super post a page back I also would love to see a puking animation and hunger/thirst increase. I did not think of passing out after so many times, but that is an amazing addition. I want to see sickness being a SERIOUS downside, and something that really makes people go "Holy shit! That dudes sick, we gotta go!" or "Shoot him! Quick, before he kills us all!" and so on. People will fear being sick because they are likely to die and antibiotics are rare enough that almost every will simply need to ride it out for the day or two (hopefully) that they have it.

Why can't you talk or hit ESC button while in hourglass mode?

Sorry, I do not know where it is posted and if it is in much detail, but I can explain it real quick. If you have any type of interaction that the game deems player interaction, you get a symbol on the screen above the humanity face that looks like two bullets hitting each other with lines shooting out. If you log out before the symbol goes away, when you log back in later you will be in a coma for around 3 hours and the only way around it is a friend with epi pen. There is no way to respawn. Player interaction is sometimes vauge however. If you and another player are touching, say moving quickly down a hallway or back to back in one and someone gets hurt by a zombie, because you got hurt while being in contact with another player you both will get the symbol and cannot log out. If you are shot, you cannot log out. Sometimes when you fall off of something and get hurt you can get the symbol as well, and very rarely I have noticed getting it after being knocked out by a zombie. Also never walk through a doorway at the same time. Me and a friend accidentally tried to go through the same doorway from opposite sides and the game crushed us in the doorway. We both fell over right away with broken legs and 2k blood less and bleeding still. That also gave player interaction because we touched when the door tried to beat us to death. -
SP is single player. Does the computer actually freeze up before shutting down, or just shut off? How good is your hardware? Cpu, RAM, video card(s), and if it shuts down without a freeze find out about your power supply. You may not have enough power to support your system under a full load, and it is always best to post all of your information when asking for technical help in case someone realizes "Hey! That video card does not work for this game!". If it shuts down with a freeze, does it make any noise from the tower itself? Any noise in the speakers? Any beeps that are not normal? Is there a blue screen, a black screen, white screen. All of this can help the problem be solved. Get GPUZ here: http://us2-dl.techpowerup.com/SysInfo/GPU-Z/GPU-Z.0.6.2.exe and tell us how much memory usage is dedicated while playing and watch it closely as it gets toward the crashing point. My friend had a problem with memory leaks on this game and had to clear his video cards RAM every thirty seconds or so until he figured out a fix. Are your video card drivers up to date, and not 5 years old? Use speccy (http://us2-dl.techpowerup.com/SysInfo/GPU-Z/GPU-Z.0.6.2.exe) if you do not have anything to check your system temperatures to see if you are overheating. Is your BIOS up to date? I can't think of anything else that might be relevant to fixing a game issue, so that is all for now. I will keep checking back for a reply most of the day, but if I cannot help you I am sure with the information I asked for someone will be able to figure it out.

So that you cannot leave. The hourglass only appears for 2-3 minutes for normal unconsciousness, which you can easily wait out. Normally when you are in that state you are bleeding terribly and likely low on blood already, so the hourglass prevents you from being able to combat log, which if you cannot wait 2 minutes you are obviously trying to do. If the hourglass is longer than 2-3 minutes, meaning the 3 hour one, that means that you likely were attacked by another player and then logged out. The super long coma is the anti pvp measure because if you log out after fighting you get it, and if you close the game before the 3 hours is up the timer resets so you are stuck that way until a friend can find you with an epi pen. So, basically, the coma is there to prevent movement when you should not be able to move and to discourage pvp logging. It is a necessary system that makes sense. -
Damn those look nice. Gonna keep this tab open and see how some of those look as backgrounds for my monitors. As with that other guy wish they were larger, but I am sure that the quality will not go down really just stretching it to 1920x1080. These make me wish ArmA 3 was coming all that much sooner. The graphics in that game put battlefield 3 to shame from what I saw like a month ago if my memory is correct. I haven't seen anything else though, gonna wait for the game.

I think he was referring to the removal of bandit skins soon, since you will not be able to tell who is a bandit and survivor and thus not be able to tell who has the best loot by your method. It's always good to just assume everyone has the best loot. I've shot people with alice packs and winchesters that then had assault rifles in their packs with ammo.

So far the patch is awesome, except for a problem that me and my friends encountered. After the update everyone was off downloading it so when we went back to the server it was just us and like two other people, and about 30 zombies. We moved into town (Berezino) and when the zombies started spawning only saw about 30. A few more spawned that we didn't see (sun rise) and we had to fight them off. The problem with this however, was that they just kept spawning. Over and over and over. I killed around fifty zombies in a field on the out skirts of the city and they just kept spawning. Each of the other three members of the group had close to the same from that fight. Some of them put their guns on fully automatic and I didn't take to aiming perfectly before firing. We used two bandages each, all of our morphine and pain pills, lots of ammo of course, had to use four blood bags, and we lost one man. After I hit around that fifty kills and everyone was exclaiming about the kill count we ran back into the fields outside the city decently far and they still just kept spawning around us. We could see the zombies just spawning everywhere, more and more to pound on us. We ran farther, kept firing, and eventually they stopped spawning. So many zombies. Really, the zombie spawn is ridiculous. The numbers I have no problem with, I am not a "care bear" and am perfectly fine with the numbers themselves. If I saw 400 zombies in the city, I would be careful to avoid them. But I do not want to scout a city out from the hills, move in, see them spawn in front of me, turn around and see more spawns behind me already. If that happens, I surely do not want them to keep spawning every single time one dies. Also, smokes seem to not affect zombies anymore. We tried throwing one into the city when nobody was aggro'd and they did not care at all. We tried throwing when they were aggro'd, and they did not care. They also do not seem to gravitate toward flares at all anymore although they did in the last patch. I guess not enough in the last patch since the notes said it was fixed, but now they do not gravitate at all. Hopefully something can be done about how zombies spawn because currently you cannot even assess what you are going up against, and choosing a safe route in and out is useless if they will just spawn behind you when you move into the city. -wolfgang

Zombie spawning issue in the new patch

It is not it being in a new server. Today we joined a 50/50 US13 server and killed every zombie in the top half of Berezino. By the time we looted the grocery store, the streets were flooded with zombies and we had to kill them again. We moved out and watched them spawn around us, and eventually they started spawning on us and they all aggrod. We ran for a barn and killed zombie after zombie as they respawned outside the barn over and over. We each killed ridiculous amounts of zombies holding our doors and one taking the ones that glitched through the walls. However with all of those deaths they just kept pouring in, and we could see them spawning in the fields around the barn through the windows. Dozens of zombies literally spawning in front of us as we fought, and the number outside was pushing them through the walls. As we retreated to the back, they started spawning there. Now they were spawning inside the barn, spawning outside, and glitching through the walls as we quickly consumed ammo. Eventually we said fuck it, aborted, and here I am with our second experience with this, and our second time online with the new patch. -

Saying that no way for people to tell on sight if someone is a murderer or not makes the game easier......The level of stupid that was displayed by the OP is terrible. The removal of bandit skins takes trust issues for survivors to a whole new level. Well, an old level really. But an old new level. lol =P
