I have used every weapon now except for the SVD Dragonov and satchel charges. Out of all of them my favorite by a wide margin has to be the MK48 Mod 0 light machine gun. Each belt takes up two inventory spaces, but holds 100 rounds so it is still more efficient space consumption than any other ammunition type except for the SAW, but the SAW beats it in numbers not damage. Each of those 100 rounds is a one shot kill both to players and zombies. It shoots 11.6 rounds per second so I can empty all 100 in just under nine seconds which is plenty of time to completely destroy any vehicle before it is out of my sight except for the helicopter when moving quickly. Plus because of the damage I don't even need all 100 rounds, maybe 70 or so should be plenty of destroy any vehicle except for the helicopter, bus, Ural, and possibly the pickup truck. The gun is camod so it blends in with my ghille suit and helps me to hide in the grass as well. Its loud, but with the ammo and damage I can destroy endless hoards of zombies with ease. If you run out of belts you could also use stanag rounds since they are the same caliber. It even has better aiming than most guns, with a nice red dot. I can hit a moving target a good 400 meters away with this gun, so I don't need a sniper that much. Its hard of course, and takes practice, but it can be done. All around the MK48 Mod 0 has to be the best weapon to use for close to mid range combat. You should never need another gun unless you prefer to snipe, which is why I often keep my M107 in my backpack or at least in my cars trunk.

Some bandits would love this as it would make the job easier but still fun. Think about it. I prepare by not killing for a while, let my humanity go back up and kill off the character to rid it of the murders. Start a new one and don't kill anyone, just stick to myself for a while until my "paragon" level is up nice a good. Then I can go find a group of survivors and murder them quickly while they all attempt to click yes on that popup quick enough to fight back, but of course there is no time for something such as that in a firefight. Now I am sure getting one murder would likely take away the paragon status or reduce it quite a bit, so it could be seen as a waste of time by some to get it up in the first place, but as long as you go for one of those larger (5+) groups in Cherno then you could really have some fun before the game allows them to shoot you again. Of course most bandits could take down a group of 5+ players anyway, it would just be immensely fun to laugh as they die because of the measure put in to help them identify friendlies.

Also, his DayZ works fine. He has been playing for over two months but has never been able to connect to more than a handful of servers. From our research we had assumed that it was due to him not having the full version of Arma 2, but since he has purchased that and the problem persists we are out of ideas.

I have had this problem for maybe two weeks out of the month I have been playing. It does not happen in regular Arma II matches, only in DayZ. Sometimes when I am playing, the sky will begin to flash rapidly like a strobe light. It gets brighter and brighter and it becomes harder and harder to see until the entire screen, even if I rush into a building, is completely white for a moment before it slowly goes back to normal as if I had just taken off NVGs after looking at the sun. There is no visible trigger for this error, no pattern except that I need to be outside when it initially happens and I have not seen it happen in any of the major cities, just the forests/fields/mountains/very small villages. It just happens while walking, nothing else. Full blood, low blood, walking or running, shooting or not, talking or not, zombies in the area or not, rain or shine (not at night though). None of my friends have ever experienced this problem and it is not too bad of an issue (not like those damn wire/tank trap errors, woo for the next update) but I would still like to find a fix for it. I will provide all the information I can think of, although since it is with DayZ only so far all of this information likely is useless. My drivers are up to date, my BIOS is up to date, my temps are all low, memory is low (no memory leaks), and my system is not under load. Well that really depends on the situation as each city is good for something else. Cherno is the best starting city if you know how to defend yourself and stay out of sight from the popular sniping spots. Berezino is the best city for quick resources up north if you can defend from the higher tiered players, as I almost always get attacked when I go there by players with decently rare equipment. If we need a grocery store to get someone a bag, then Vybor is my choice city. Quick guns, Starry of course. Car parts is the factory near Polana or Pushtoshka. If we have a good 5+ people, then a hospital run in Berezino is good. Random supplies are everywhere else. I really couldn't say I have a favorite because none of the cities meet every need. They can meet the material needs fine, but those are also the most dangerous to be in for any length of time. If I had to pick a city to settle down in though, I would pick Gorka. The gas station down the road spawns no zombies and is perfect for filling up, LOADS of crash sites nearby for guns/ammo, not too far from Berezino for Hospital runs and Polana for car parts. All around if we had to settle in a town for some reason rather than the woods, Gorka seems the best choice.

Nope. I have never seen a single one in over two months of playing nor has anyone else in my group. I have never even heard mention of them in videos or threads except for two instances, one of which was from a player body with other hacked weapons and the other was a disabled military jeep that was full of enemy NPCs. The trunk was also stuffed with spawned shotguns that didn't exist. Car inventories save after restarts if the user who put the shit in there saved it. Was the UAZ a color and type that exists in the game naturally? Was it all broken as it should be for a spawn or fixed/mostly fixed but disabled? Some people just throw hacked weapons around as well to get regular players banned for fun. There was one server I heard about where hackers were giving dozens of hacked guns that aren't in the mod to anyone that came to Cherno.

I personally call it Day-Zee but some of the people I hang out with call it Day-Zed since the people I play with come from all different countries and backgrounds. I don't mind either way, but for some reason I absolutely hate when people call zombies zeds. I am not sure why, as it seems like a half decent shortening of zombie and I have heard it for years. As for this thread though, RGO grenades are not legit and are obtained from dead NPC soldiers that were spawned in or the vehicles they were driving. Radios however, despite being extremely rare and only having one spawn location that I know about, are legit. They do absolutely nothing however right now other than entertain/annoy you with the sounds that it makes.

You look for even more satisfying equipment. Get NVGs, rangefinders, GPS, frags, coyote pack, ghille or camo depending on your liking, get a good close range gun that two shots a player and keep a high powered sniper in your backpack such as the M107 or AS50. Find an m9 SD and ammo for a good sidearm but make sure you head shot since its weak. Find the perfect inventory setup that will support your needs perfectly in any possible situation. After that find a server with vehicle spawns and find the one that suits you best. Fix it up, get it running, repair all the windows because they block bullets from certain guns, and so on. Get a tent or two and fill it with everything that you need to fix another vehicle and to survive without that one and keep stuff in the vehicle as well. Due to DayZ being an alpha the tents and vehicles like to vanish, so make sure you can live in the vehicle without the tent and fix another vehicle if you lose the vehicle, and always keep your inventory good enough that if all should fail and you lose both then you can survive. After that it is up to you to find something to do. Do you want to find an M136 anti tank rocket launcher? Collect vehicles? Kill yourself and start over, possibly choosing a new play style to challenge yourself and liven things up? Also find friends to play with. The game takes on a lot more when doing rescue missions in your car, fighting snipers in cherno with them while you try to get out safely, defending them from a hoard of zombies that just don't seem to ever stop because your ally's legs are broken and you both are out of morphine. Its a sandbox game and you do what you want in the end, but those are my recommendations to keep you going for a while and provide some good entertainment.

We are normally in our vehicles when we happen upon camps, so we load up what we want and drive over the tents. As for blowing up vehicles, they do not currently respawn by themselves properly.....Ander spawns them in from the database every now and then. So blowing them up screws over every single person that ever goes to that server, not just the people that had them.

Yea we had vehicles as soon as the server was created originally. The problem came when they all vanished after a server crash/restart during the DDOSing like two weeks ago. Not the one yesterday.

Since the DDOSing issues yesterday there have not been any vehicles on any server. All of the ones that people already had vanished and never respawned, and the previously destroyed ones did not repsawn either. So I was wondering if it is 100% every single server or if there are some left that still happen to have vehicles spawning. I do not enjoy playing a walking simulator and would much prefer to be able to find anything at all, even if it is missing every single part. So, does anyone feel like divulging the name of any such servers that may or may not exist?

And to the guy that asked about vehicles. I found one ATV today' date=' on it's original spawnpoint, don't know when it spawned, but I had to repair it and I took it home, back to my V3S Civilian truck, so yes, vehicles exist and they can still spawn (I think, the first time I checked this spawn). Yea I do not trust the loot maps and have never used one. We go off of our own experience and use our own maps that we make. All of the markers that we have are from ones that we have found ourselves, but I have also checked other locations. Since the white pickup always spawns with absolutely every single thing broken I tried searching for that and did not manage to find it on any server, so I guess I will head to where we found our Ural and hope that I can find that there.

Does anyone know why the last time DayZ got DDOS'd all of the vehicles on our server vanished and have yet to respawn? The server has been restarted dozens of times since we do it often but with no luck. This was the DDOS a few weeks ago, not yesterday. We checked all of the routes we drive on, checked all of the spawns, and then began checking for new spawns. We cannot seem to find any vehicles anywhere except for a single Jeep that didn't vanish and a PBX boat. The Jeep vanished later on another server restart however, and now we have no land vehicles. The server owner made a post about it and I have added my own comments and thoughts to it but nobody seems to have an answer or care to reply so here I am posting here. It is quite frustrating to have none of the vehicles ever respawn and we would very much love a fix. I had hoped that the reset of all destroyed vehicles would fix this but there still seem to be none anywhere. I have checked some other servers and cannot seem to find any either and have also talked to others who had vehicles on the server until the DDOSing yesterday. The server crashed during it, the vehicles were gone on restart, and they have yet to respawn anywhere. I don't mind not having helicopters but having no vehicles at all is terrible. Hopefully a dev notices this and can help out the servers with this issue. We really want our vehicles to respawn again. Some servers simply do not have vehicles, but the problem here is that we have had them for weeks and all of them except for one land and one water vehicle just vanished. Not stolen, as I cannot see all of the hiding places being discovered kilometers apart in one night, but simply gone and never respawned.

So have any other admins been having trouble such as this? Does anyone have a possible fix? It is quite annoying to no longer have vehicles on the server after having them for so long. First nobody has helicopters anymore, now all vehicles are going. Walking is so terrible.

Someone mentioned this last night in a thread either to increase fps or fix a problem, not sure which it was. I do not remember anything being said about how much or little it could increase fps by, but if you are at an unplayable state you might as well try whatever. Have you tried lowering your 3d resolution all the way down? Have you tried everything on this page here: http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=6713 ? Is your GPU or CPU faster? When you lower all of the settings to the minimum it puts strain on the CPU rather than the GPU and increasing certain options to high can actually increase rather than decrease fps. I haven't experimented with that but it does make sense if you think about it. Make sure everything is off on your computer that could possibly be off, if your on windows 7 turn off aero, turn off everything that possibly could be turned off. I will be checking back to see what happens if you decide to try the RAMdisk thing however. I was going to try it but would need a better motherboard with more RAM as it requires enough RAM to store the game and my Arma II installation is 9GB and my OA installation is 27GB and I only have 16GB. I never thought I would say "only 16GB" lol. Anyway good luck. Really sucks to buy a game and not be able to run it properly.

Both crates spawn, and are not even that rare. I have seen at least ten 5.56 crates between the barracks and crash sites, and a good five 7.62 crates between the two as well in my two months of playing.

If you google search for a bit you can eventually find a post by Rocket saying that they are indeed in the game and spawn in the barracks. The wiki is not official and everything on there is not necessarily true or any indication of what items are in the game or not.

Also we checked all of the spawns that we know of and all of the ones we have heard of nearly every day since. We checked all of the little barns, lone houses in forests and fields, abandoned shacks, the small unmarked towns, and even taken extensive trips through empty forest and fields. Everything on the map has essentially been checked by our group and we have not been able to find anything except for a single Jeep and a single PBX anywhere. Also, the Jeep was gone as well after another restart. We had hoped that the vehicles would reappear after a while thanks to the new patch where you need to drive them or they despawn, but we have had no such luck in finding them. The restart that they were gone after was exactly one week after the patch came out where if you do not drive the vehicles they despawn. It was also, as mentioned, during all of that hive trouble where nearly every server was down. Could it have something to do with that new patch despite all of the vehicle being driven all day every day? Or with the hive trouble?

Some vehicles vanish instead of exploding. If it vanished, that means that was how much damage it could take before exploding as well.
