    Cooking Food?

    Hunting/cooking gets rid of the need to scavenge cities for food, and most likely cooked food will be more healthy for you.
  2. I am making this thread to create a compilation of features mentioned in dev blogs and other pre-alpha discussions, and to update the list as the alpha gets updated. Many of the items in the game are not fully implemented, so I think it would be helpful to have one list that details what you can expect when finding an item. Hopefully this thread can help focus testing on features that are expected to be implemented at the current stage of alpha, and identify those which are not. Please understand this list will not be complete and/or accurate at the start, but hopefully the community helps to make the list complete. I will try to post sources proving the validity of the claims made here as they become available. This will be a very long list so it may take a few days to compile. I spend many hours playing the game (120 so far) but I will try to take the time to finish/update this list. If you have anything that should be added to the list, whether it's fully implemented or with an unknown status, please reply and I will add it to the list. Fully implemented Partially implemented Not implemented Unknown Status NOTE: when I mention quality, I mean the durability/status of an item (pristine, damaged, ruined etc) Medical Blood bags restore 1000 blood Matching blood types required to perform blood transfusion (non-matching bloodtypes will cause rapid blood loss, resulting in death within 2-3 minutes unless multiple saline bags are applied to counteract the loss) Saline IV bag restores blood to full Saline IV bag wakes unconscious players Defibrillator able to revive unconscious player (restores shock value. May take more than one shock to revive.   3. Do they actually affect accuracy? I only put those on the list as unknown to test in the future.

    I hope the issue where characters get wiped on certain servers is fixed before private hives are implemented. This will just add even more confusion when people's characters get deleted.

    Favorite shots so far

    Been alive on this char 50+ hours, rocking the urban tactical gear with my squad so we can tell each other apart from everyone else in their camo/green gear. Gonna post more shots as I take them. :) This one is pretty cool as well, really shows off the hi-rez textures

    No edits were done. My friend took the shots, and she was missing a bit of blood so some color is missing. And I think the default screenshot button for steam is f12.
  9. I have made 6 blood bags to do some medic work (I am type o negative) and I am wondering if blood bags are programmed to expire yet, and what happens if you inject expired blood? I have seen rumors that keeping it in a medical bag prolongs their shelf life, but haven't heard anyone mention expired bags. Has anyone tested this yet?

  12. If you want to play as friendly/medic, never take chances. Find other like minded players to support you, and have them hide back at a distance unseen from the target incase things go wrong. Never assume people will go along with your playstyle, because there is a majority of players who will either KOS or take advantage of your help then shoot you in the back.

    It should not happen on the same server, you most likely chose another server accidentally.

    Find a few servers that work and only play on those, only way to avoid wipes. It is not random, and most people experiencing that many wipes are server hoppers.
  15. My only experience so far has been a speed hacker running after me (1.5x sprinting speed) punching with fists and yelling in local about how fast he was running.

  17. I tried swimming in a pond and got stuck, couldnt move and my backpack/gun fell into the water.....apparently swimming isn't implemented yet.

    Weird metallic/zombie noises sometimes

    The metallic sounds are ambient game noises, and the cut off zombies are rabbits (who are based off zombies atm). You just have to learn to recognize them and you can shut them out.

    Lamp not working

    For the past few days I can't get my lamp to work. I turn it on and the light inside the lamp is visible, but there is no light that actually comes out like there used to be. I just got both the lamp and the fuel can and they are in good condition. Has anyone had this issue since the last patch?

    It worked the first few times I used it, the day of launch. I really hope it gets fixed as it's the only way to really play at night.

    Night time way too dark

    I spent time in the middle of nowhere in canada, no towns for miles, and I was able to see more than just black outlines. Our eyes adjust to darkness and are able to pick up small amounts of light. Anyone who says otherwise has never been in the dark, or just enjoys the pain of being blind in dayz.

    can anyone explain how to put the put on the burner/fuel? I attached the fuel to the burner but after trying everything I can't find a way to cook things with the pot.
  25. hmm I tried putting the cooking pot onto the stove/canister combo and it wouldnt let me.
